    Abstract: In a wireless data network, a Distributed Unit (DU) receives Uplink (UL) server data from server applications in wireless User Equipment (UEs). The DU processes the UL server data with an UL DU Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ), generates UL HARQ Acknowledgements (ACKs) based on the UL server data, and transfers the UL server data to a Central Unit (CU). The CU receives the UL server data, processes the UL server data with an UL CU MAC, and transfers the UL server data. The CU receives (Downlink) DL server data for the server applications in the wireless UEs and transfers the DL server data to the DU. The DU receives the DL server data from the CU, processes the DL server data with a DL DU MAC comprising a DL DU HARQ, and transfers the DL server data and the UL HARQ ACKs to the wireless UEs.

The user application in the UE transfers user data to a VPN application in the UE. The VPN application in the UE transfers the user data over a VPN to the VPN-GW for delivery to the NEF. The VPN-GW receives user data over the VPN and transfers the user data to the AF for delivery to the NEF. The AF receives the user data for delivery to the NEF and generates an Application Programming Interface (API) call with the user data. The AF transfers the API call to the NEF. The NEF receives the API call and responsively exposes the user data. The user data may comprise user signaling, and the UE may exchange user data with external systems over the VPN GW responsive to the user signaling.

A radio exchanges access communications with the UEs over a frequency channel. The radio receives an IAB request from one of the IAB MTs, and in response, a controller allocates the frequency channel into a UE subchannel and an MT subchannel. The radio now exchanges access communications with the UEs over the UE subchannel and exchanges backhaul communications with the wireless IAB MT over the MT subchannel. The controller reallocates the frequency channel when an IAB MT is added to give the new IAB MT its own MT subchannel. The controller reallocates the frequency channel when an IAB MT is removed to increase the size of the UE subchannel.

Communication circuitry wirelessly transfers the user instructions to a microservice control system, and in response, wirelessly receives microservice instructions and a microservice application from the microservice control system. User circuitry in the wireless UE executes the microservice application in an operating system container per the microservice instructions and responsively generates microservice data for a microservice data system. The communication circuitry wirelessly transfers the microservice data to the microservice data system. This hosted microservices platform supports a variety of applications beyond smartphone owner usage. To that end, the smartphone owner may get financially compensated for those extra use cases according to a variety of factors.
