    Abstract: The present application relates to copolymer-silica hybrid aerogels as well as methods for the preparation thereof. The methods comprise hydrolyzing a silica precursor in an organic solvent to obtain a partially polymerized silica wet gel, reacting the partially polymerized silica wet gel with a copolymer of Formula (II) to obtain a copolymer-silica hybrid wet gel, reacting the copolymer-silica hybrid wet gel with a surface passivation agent and removing solvent from the copolymer-silica hybrid wet gel to obtain the copolymer-silica hybrid aerogel. The mechanical properties of the copolymer-silica hybrid aerogels can be further improved by blending cellulose nanofibrils into the hybrid aerogels.

    Abstract: The present application relates to the field of remanufacturing, particularly to a laser cladding repair method and apparatus for surface damage of part, and a part. The laser cladding repair method for surface damage of part includes: preparing a cladding material for repair, and preparing a groove based on a defect characteristic of a to-be-repaired part obtained from inspection and assessment; performing procedure optimization and procedure qualification; performing, based on a result of the procedure optimization and the procedure qualification, laser cladding repair procedure on a defect location to form a cladding layer on the groove; and performing quality evaluation on the cladding layer. This method may be used for surface repair of damaged surfaces of parts during service, achieving dimensional recovery, performance maintenance, and repeatedly installing and using parts, to solve the practical problems of traditional “replacement instead of repair”.

    Abstract: Provided herein is a probe for ultrasound imaging of tissue. The probe comprises an optical relay having an optically absorbing coating at the distal end of the probe for generating ultrasound from excitation light via the photoacoustic effect, wherein the generated ultrasound propagates as an ultrasound beam into the tissue; and an ultrasound receiver separate from the optical relay. The optical relay is configured to receive as input a time-varying spatial pattern of excitation light at the proximal end of the probe and to transmit the excitation light to the distal end of the probe to illuminate the optically absorbing coating in accordance with said time-varying spatial pattern, thereby generating ultrasound from the excitation light via the photoacoustic effect to propagate as a scanning ultrasound beam into the tissue. The ultrasound receiver is configured to receive reflections of the ultrasound from tissue. Such an ultrasound probe may be incorporated, for example, into a transseptal puncture needle.
