  • Publication number: 20230328802
Abstract: A wireless user equipment (UE) device may transmit a random access preamble to a base station, using a physical resource on an uplink signal. After failing to receive an initial transmission of a response message from the base station (BS), the UE device may monitor for one or more retransmissions of the response message. Each of the retransmission may include a corresponding transmission number. As an alternative, each of the retransmissions may be at least partially scrambled using a corresponding Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI). As another alternative, a window for monitoring and RNTI calculation may be extended to include the one or more retransmissions. The successive retransmissions may include the same set of UE-specific payloads, or, a decreasing set of payloads over time as UE devices acknowledge successful receipt of their respective payloads.

  • Patent number: 11765785
Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to sidelink-assisted virtual multi-link. In one aspect, for example, a relay node may serve as an additional virtual antenna panel for a UE by receiving downlink data from a base station via an access link, or receiving uplink data from the UE via a sidelink. The relay node may forward the downlink data to the UE via sidelink, or the uplink data to the base station via the access link. In another aspect, a base station may determine, for a UE, quasi-colocation (QCL) information and a grant for one or both of one or more access link resources or one or more sidelink resources. The base station may further transmit, to the UE, the QCL information and the grant on a downlink communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20230276332
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may establish a radio resource control (RRC) connection with a first cell of a cellular network and transmit signaling comprising an indication of enhanced radio link failure (RLF) recovery capability. The UE may receive one or more RRC messages comprising configuration information for RLF recovery on the first cell. The UE detect one or more RLFs corresponding to the first cell and further determine, via a connection reestablishment cell selection procedure, that the first cell is a suitable RLF recovery candidate cell. In response to the detection and determination, the UE may apply the configuration information for the first cell. The UE may then transmit signaling comprising a trigger indicating a RLF recovery to the cellular network and re-establish the RRC connection with the cellular network using the configuration information.

  • Publication number: 20230262576
Abstract: The present application relates to improving coverage and reliability of cellular emergency service. In an example, a relay UE is authorized by a core network to provide a U2N relay for emergency services, where this authorization is based on UE capability information sent to the core network indicating the support of U2N relay emergency functionalities. During a U2N relay discovery, the relay UE indicates, to a remote UE, that this capability can be provided. Accordingly, the remote UE selects the relay UE from a candidate set of relay UEs and a relay communication is established.

  • Publication number: 20230247654
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems to coordinate resource allocation between two UEs for sidelink communication. A receiving UE receiving sidelink communication from a transmitting UE may configure coordination resources used to coordinate sidelink communication between the two UEs. The receiving UE may receive from the transmitting UE data indicating resources reserved and intended to be used by the transmitting UE to transmit sidelink data to the receiving UE. The receiving UE may determine a coordination message used to indicate whether the resources reserved by the transmitting UE are available for use by the receiving UE to receive the sidelink data from the transmitting UE. The receiving UE may determine resources from the coordination resources to be used to carry the coordination message and may transmit the coordination message carried on the selected resources to indicate to the transmitting UE whether to use the reserved resources for the sidelink data.

  • Publication number: 20230247506
Abstract: A user equipment (UE), next generation NodeB (gNB), or other network component can operate to configure a group configuration message that initiates a plurality of UEs in a coverage area of a non-terrestrial network (NTN) to concurrently transfer communication from a first beam of a first satellite to a second beam of a second satellite. The communications of one or more UEs can be re-directed to the second beam of the second satellite based on downlink control information of the group configuration message.

  • Publication number: 20230247457
Abstract: When a user equipment (UE) encounters a radio link failure condition, the UE may transmit a radio link failure report to a network. The report may include information defining the radio link monitoring (RLM) resources of a current RLM configuration. The information may take the form of a resource bitmap or a list of resource identifiers/indices. The network may use the information (and radio resource management measurements) to determine whether the radio link failure occurred due to misconfiguration of RLM resources for the UE. In cases where the network does not provide RLM configuration, the UE may omit the bitmap (or list), or populate the bitmap with all zeros, or populate the bitmap (or list) according to a currently active Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI) state, which is indicated by downlink control information (DCI).

  • Publication number: 20230239899
Abstract: In 5G/New Radio (NR), sidelink communication refers to a channel for communications directly between devices, e.g., user equipment (UEs), without use of traditional uplink or downlink communication channels. Sidelink Control Information (SCI) is separated into two stages (i.e., SCI stage 1 and SCI stage 2) before being transmitted to configure a user device. A method for configuring sidelink communications for a wireless device includes: obtaining SCI Stage 2 payload information; attaching and distributing cyclic redundancy check (CRC) information to the payload information; performing encoding and rate matching (RM) on the payload information; scrambling the encoded and rate matched payload information; performing modulation on the scrambled payload information; determining a resource mapping for the modulated payload information, wherein the modulated payload information is aggregated across two or more slots (e.g.
