  • Publication number: 20220182993
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Devices in a wireless communications system may support different configurations to support intra-symbol multiplexing for communications between the devices using a single carrier waveform. For example, the different configurations may include symbol level cyclic prefixes, device-specific or channel-specific cyclic prefixes, device-specific or channel-specific guard intervals, or a combination thereof to support the intra-symbol multiplexing. That is, the cyclic prefixes or guard intervals may separate different fractions of a symbol, such that individual signals communicated in each of the different fractions do not leak into a subsequent fraction to cause interference. In some implementations, the cyclic prefixes or guard intervals may be enabled for a subset of devices or channels.

  • Publication number: 20220167392
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a grant scheduling a downlink transmission of a set of configurable downlink transmissions. The downlink transmission may include reference slots corresponding to offset values associated with one or more feedback occasions. The UE may construct a feedback codebook based on a first quantity of slots in the set of configurable downlink transmissions, a second quantity of reference slots in the set of configurable downlink transmissions, and a third quantity of configurable offset values associated with one or more feedback occasions. Based on a size of the feedback codebook, the UE may generate feedback bits for reporting whether the UE successfully received a downlink transmission in corresponding slots. In some examples, the UE may identify a slot with a symbol reserved for an uplink transmission, and skip generating a corresponding feedback bit for the identified slot.

  • Publication number: 20220159707
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may communicate in an unlicensed spectrum (e.g., a shared radio frequency spectrum band). As such, the UE may determine a codebook size for transmitting hybrid access request (HARQ) acknowledgement (ACK) feedback with respect to the unlicensed spectrum. Accordingly, the UE may base the HARQ ACK codebook size on a number of HARQ processes with which the UE has been configured. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may base the HARQ ACK codebook size on a number and/or duration of downlink channel monitoring occasions indicated by the base station. In some cases, the UE may base the HARQ ACK codebook size on a combination of the techniques described herein.

  • Publication number: 20220150907
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a grant that schedules multiple downlink communications, wherein the grant includes multiple start and length indicator values (SLIVs) that indicate respective time domain resource allocations (TDRAs) for the multiple downlink communications and a feedback timing indicator that indicates timing of uplink feedback communications for the multiple downlink communications. The UE may determine that there is a conflict between a timing of a first uplink feedback communication for a first downlink communication of the multiple downlink communications and a TDRA for a second downlink communication of the multiple downlink communications. The UE may adjust at least one of the TDRA for the second downlink communication or the timing of the first uplink feedback communication. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Publication number: 20220150851
Abstract: In one aspect, an extended SSB (ESSB) is provided that includes more than four symbols to facilitate UE reception of SSBs. In this aspect, the base station configures an ESSB comprising an SSB including four symbols and an initial symbol preceding the SSB. The base station transmits and the UE receives at least a portion of the ESSB. The UE processes the ESSB. Thus, higher capacity UEs can benefit from additional coding gain in the initial symbol while lower capacity UEs can switch beams to receive back-to-back ESSBs. In another aspect, a UE performs additional behaviors to receive SSBs. In this aspect, the UE receives a first SSB using a reception beam, and the UE determines to maintain the reception beam for a second SSB or to switch the reception beam during a PSS symbol of the second SSB. Thus, lower capacity UEs can also receive back-to-back SSBs.

  • Patent number: 11251914
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to enable a user equipment (UE) or a base station to transmit and receive single carrier (SC) waveforms (e.g., corresponding to uplink or downlink transmissions) using an SC transmission configuration. In some cases, a UE and a base station may employ an SC configuration to identify resource elements (REs) for uplink or downlink SC signals. • Patent number: 11240688
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, transmissions from a neighboring base station may interfere with downlink transmissions from a serving base station to a target user equipment (UE). To coordinate interference between the base stations (e.g., mitigate interference, stabilize interference, etc.), the serving base station may generate an interference coordination message and may transmit the message over-the-air (OTA) to one or more neighboring base stations. The message may include parameters indicating a coordination scheme for the neighboring base station(s) to use for modifying one or more scheduling decisions. The coordination scheme may be configured or dynamically selected and may include interfering beam fixation, interfering beam suppression, or interfering beam avoidance.

  • Patent number: 11234218
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for uplink descriptor channels are described. An uplink descriptor channel may be used by a user equipment (UE) for providing indications that uplink transmissions over allocated uplink data resources are sent in a configuration different from a configuration indicated by an uplink grant. In various examples an uplink transmission may be transmitted by a UE, and received by a base station, and the uplink transmission may include the uplink descriptor channel with uplink data. An uplink descriptor channel may include indications that uplink control information is included in the uplink transmission, and/or that the uplink transmission employs a number of transmission intervals, a number of channels, and/or a different MCS than those indicated by the uplink grant. A base station may receive the uplink descriptor channel and adjust various parameters of decoding an uplink transmission and/or allocating radio frequency spectrum resources.

  • Patent number: 11229061
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device, such as a base station or a user equipment, may identify an energy detection threshold for a sensing beam associated with a channel access procedure, such as a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure. The wireless device may also identify a set of transmit power parameters for one or more transmit beams. The wireless device may determine a degree of overlap between a beam shape of one or more transmit beams and a beam shape (e.g., a coverage area) of the sensing beam. The wireless device may adjust the set of transmit power parameters, the energy detection threshold, or a combination thereof based on the degree of overlap. The wireless device may perform the channel access procedure based on the determining, the adjusting, or both.
