  • Publication number: 20230188261
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for reduced capability New Radio (NR) devices. A reduced capability NR device may receive, from a base station, a reference signal (RS) or broadcast system information. The reduced capability NR device may determine, based on the received RS or the received broadcast system information, a coverage enhancement for the wireless communications device and may determine a repetition configuration. The reduced capability NR device may select, based on the coverage enhancement and repetition configuration, a plurality of random access channel occasions (ROs) for a plurality of physical random access channel (PRACH) repetitions. The reduced capability NR device may send, based on one or more ROs of the selected plurality of ROs, one or more PRACH repetitions of the plurality of PRACH repetitions to cause the base station to identify the coverage enhancement and a type associated with the wireless communications device.

  • Patent number: 11677858
Abstract: An apparatus can monitor interactions between IoT devices and IoT applications. Based on the monitoring, the apparatus may identify an interaction between a given IoT device and a given IoT application that can be adjusted. In an example, the apparatus may generate a recommendation or instruction in response to identifying the interaction. A first instruction may indicate a change in behavior for one of the IoT device or the IoT application. The apparatus may send the instruction to the one of the IoT device or the IoT application, for example, so as to cause the one of the IoT device or the IoT application to change the respective behavior, thereby adjusting the interaction between the IoT device and the IoT application.

  • Publication number: 20230171795
Abstract: A wireless User Equipment (UE) may indicate to a base station (gNB) that the UE is capable of simultaneously using sidelink resource allocations Mode 1, with scheduling by the gNB, and sidelink resource allocation Mode 2 with scheduling by the UE, and then receive from the gNB, a Medium Access Control (MAC) entity configuration comprising information for Mode 1 and for Mode 2, and Sidelink Radio Bearer (SERB) configurations which may include the mode (Mode 1 or Mode 2) for the SERB. The UE may determine grants for both modes. In case of a grant collision or overlap, the UE may use logical channel priority to select one grant over the other. The UE may change from one mode to another. The MAC entity may take actions related to feedback, BSR reporting, and SR reporting, to manage the transitions.

  • Publication number: 20230171738
Abstract: The exchange of resource allocation assistance information between a requester User Equipment (UE) and an assistant UE allows the requester to make better resource allocation decisions. The assistance information may include a blacklist, a whitelist, resource allocation information, a candidate resource set, and measurement information, for example. Both UEs may have an assistance configuration to assist in the exchange of resource allocation assistance information, that may be obtained from a third apparatus, such as a base station. The configuration may include information related to when to trigger assistance, identities of UEs, and types of assistance information, for example. The requester may, based on the assistance information received, modify a candidate resource set at a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer. The requester may, at the MAC layer, determine a configured sidelink grant for a selected destination using assistance information targeting this destination.

  • Patent number: 11659063
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices may be used to support freshness-based processing of requests. Freshness-based processing may involve the service layer examining the age of stored content (e.g., resource representation) that it hosts and determining whether it is fresh enough to satisfy a retrieve or discovery request with a specified freshness requirement. If not fresh, the service layer can contact an application to refresh the content. In addition, freshness-based processing can also involve the service layer examining the semantic state of a command oriented update request to determine whether its state is fresh or not with respect to prior commands processed by the service layer. For example, the service layer may compare stored content associated with controlling a particular application (e.g. door is locked) and against the semantic content of an update request (e.g., unlock door) to determine whether it is the same (e.g., stale) or not (e.g., fresh).

  • Publication number: 20230154100
Abstract: Systems, methods, and techniques utilize reinforcement learning to efficiently schedule a sequence of jobs for execution by one or more processing threads. A first sequence of execution jobs associated with rendering a target frame of a sequence of frames is received. One or more reward metrics related to rendering the target frame are selected. A modified sequence of execution jobs for rendering the target frame is generated, such as by reordering the first sequence of execution jobs. The modified sequence is evaluated with respect to the selected reward metric(s); and rendering the target frame is initiated based at least in part on the evaluating of the modified sequence with respect to the one or more selected reward metric(s).

  • Publication number: 20230116052
Abstract: Examples of array geometry agnostic multi-channel personalized speech enhancement (PSE) extract speaker embeddings, which represent acoustic characteristics of one or more target speakers, from target speaker enrollment data. Spatial features (e.g., inter-channel phase difference) are extracted from input audio captured by a microphone array. The input audio includes a mixture of speech data of the target speaker(s) and one or more interfering speaker(s). The input audio, the extracted speaker embeddings, and the extracted spatial features are provided to a trained geometry-agnostic PSE model. Output data is produced, which comprises estimated clean speech data of the target speaker(s) that has a reduction (or elimination) of speech data of the interfering speaker(s), without the trained PSE model requiring geometry information for the microphone array.
