A protective slip-proof cover for steps includes a rectangular pad having a first side formed with a downwardly extending apron, another side of the rectangular pad being formed with a plurality of first and second holes and a plurality of suckers each having a circular body, a tubular stem extending upwardly from a central top portion of the circular body, and a T-shaped pulling stem extending upwardly from a top portion of the circular body, the suckers being mounted under the pad with the tubular stem and the T-shaped pulling stem extending upwardly through the first and second holes respectively, a plurality of fixing caps each being inserted through a respective one of the second holes into the tubular stem thereby affixing the suckers on a bottom of the pad.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] This invention is related to a protective slip-proof cover for steps and in particular to one which can be firmly affixed to or removed from a step.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] As people are group creatures, they live in close proximity in houses, the styles of which have changed over time. In the early days, bricks and wood were used as housing materials, and nowadays, concretes, marbles, and aluminum alloys are commonly used as building materials. With the increase in population and the difficulty of obtaining land, the building of multi-floor houses have become necessary. Thus, stairs must be constructed between the upper and lower floors. A stair and/or step is generally made of hard material, but it will be come slippery, especially when the surface of the step is waxed. In addition, because the step is generally made of hard material, when one falls from it, serious injury may occur, and may even be lethal for the person falling. So, it has been proposed to make some kind of slip-proof construction on the top edge of the step. However, this kind of construction does not give much help in preventing injury. Furthermore, this kind of slip-proof construction cannot be removed once mounted on the step.

[0005] Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a protective slip-proof cover for steps which can obviate and mitigate the above-mentioned drawbacks.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] This invention is related to a protective slip-proof cover for steps.

[0007] It is the primary object of the present invention to provide a protective slip-proof cover for steps which can be firmly affixed to them.

[0008] It is another object of the present invention to provide a protective slip-proof cover for steps which can be easily removed from a step.

[0009] It is a further object of the present invention to provide a protective slip-proof cover for steps which is simple in construction and low in cost.

[0010] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a protective slip-proof cover for steps includes a rectangular pad having a first side formed with a downwardly extending apron, another side of the rectangular pad being formed with a plurality of first and second holes and a plurality of suckers each having a circular body, a tubular stem extending upwardly from a central top portion of the circular body, and a T-shaped pulling stem extending upwardly from a top portion of the circular body, the suckers being mounted under the pad with the tubular stem and the T-shaped pulling stem extending upwardly through the first and second holes respectively, a plurality of fixing caps each being inserted through a respective one of the second holes into the tubular stem thereby affixing the suckers on a bottom of the pad.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0017] For the purpose of promoting an understanding of the principles of the invention, reference will now be made to the embodiment illustrated in the drawings. Specific language will be used to describe same. It will, nevertheless, be understood that no limitation of the scope of the invention is thereby intended, alterations and further modifications in the illustrated device, and further applications of the principles of the invention as illustrated herein being contemplated as would normally occur to one skilled in the art to which the invention relates.

[0018] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the protective slip-proof cover for steps according to the present invention generally comprises a pad 1 and a plurality of suckers 2.

[0019] The pad 1 is a rectangular member having a front side formed with a downwardly extending apron 13. Two lateral sides 14 and 16 and the rear side 15 of the pad 1 is formed with a plurality of holes 11 and 12.

[0020] The sucker 2 is made of rubber material and has a circular body 23, a tubular stem 22 extending upwardly from a central top portion of the circular body 21, and a T-shaped pulling stem 21 extending upwardly from an eccentric portion on the top of the circular body 21. The sucker 2 is mounted under the pad 1, with the tubular stem 22 and the T-shaped pulling stem 21 extending upwardly through the holes 11 and 12 respectively (see FIG. 3). A fixing cap 18 is inserted through a respective hole 11 into the tubular stem 22 thereby affixing the sucker 2 on the bottom of the pad 1.

[0021] When in use, the pad 1 is first placed on a step (not shown) and then the pad 1 is pressed on the step so that the pad 1 will be fixed in place by the suckers 2. When desired to remove the pad 1 from the step, it is only necessary to pull the top of the T-shaped pulling stem 21 thereby deforming the circular body 2 and disengaging the circular body 2 from the step (see FIG. 4).

[0022] It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a usefull application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.

[0023] While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.

Claims

1. A protective slip-proof cover for steps comprising:

a rectangular pad having a first side formed with a downwardly extending apron, another side of said rectangular pad being formed with a plurality of first and second holes; and
a plurality of suckers each having a circular body, a tubular stem extending upwardly from a central top portion of said circular body, and a T-shaped pulling stem extending upwardly from a top portion of said circular body, said suckers being mounted under said pad with said tubular stem and said T-shaped pulling stem extending upwardly through said first and second holes respectively, a plurality of fixing caps each being inserted through a respective one of said second holes into said tubular stem thereby affixing said suckers on a bottom of said pad.
