Positioning structure for opening of an umbrella

This invention relates to a positioning structure for opening of an umbrella, which includes a runner movably provided around a shaft of an umbrella. The runner has a positioning hole and an extended slice placed over an opening groove. An upper jointer mounted on the top end of the shaft connects with an elastic beam, which is downward extended with a slight inclined angle and is provided with a protrusion at middle portion. And as the protrusion is engaged with the positioning hole, the elastic engagement is obtained, while the runner can be stopped in secure for keeping the umbrella in stable opening state.

Description
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

[0001] A prior umbrella includes a runner to be moved upward for opening the umbrella. In order to maintain the umbrella in opening state, it is known that a spring is provided in the shaft, which has its top end extended outward from the shaft to stop the runner from moving downward and then to keep the umbrella in opening. This structure including to provide the spring in the shaft and to provide the shaft a groove for the spring extending its top end outward will be very trouble and might be broken of the shaft. It is without utility.

[0002] Accordingly, the primary object of the invention is to provide a positioning structure for opening of an umbrella, which provides an elastic hooking beam connected with an upper jointer for engaging with the runner easily. The runner can be stopped to keep the umbrella in opening state under this novel improved design. Now the features and advantages of the invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0003] FIG. 1 is a schematic perspective view showing an umbrella according to the present invention.

[0004] FIG. 2 is a partly cross-sectional plan view of FIG. 1 according to the present invention.

[0005] FIG. 3 is a plan view showing the umbrella in stable opening state according to the present invention.

[0006] FIG. 4 is a plan view showing a modified embodiment according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0007] Please refer to FIGS. 1 to 3, the present invention includes a runner (1) movably provided around a shaft (4) of an umbrella. The runner (1) has a positioning hole (11) and an extended slice (12) placed over an opening groove (13). An upper jointer (2) mounted on the top end of the shaft (4) connects with an elastic beam (3), which is downward extended with a slight inclined angle and is provided with a protrusion (31) at middle portion. The inner end of the frame (5) can be connected with the upper jointer (2) and the runner (1).

[0008] To open the umbrella, the runner (1) is moved upward and the elastic beam (3) will be slid into the runner (1). When the protrusion (31) is engaged with the positioning hole (11), the elastic engagement is obtained and the runner (1) can be stopped in secure for keeping the umbrella in stable opening state. To close the umbrella, it can be completed easily by forcing the extended slice (12) to press the lower end of the elastic beam (3) inward. While the protrusion (31) is released from the positioning hole (11), the runner (1) can be moved downward to close the umbrella.

[0009] Accordingly, the present invention provides a new assembled structure. It is not necessary to provide the spring in the shaft and to make the opening groove on the shaft. The invention provides a molded elastic beam with the upper jointer, which obtains a novel improvement with simple structure and convenient use. FIG. 4 shows another modified embodiment of this invention, which includes the protrusion provided in the runner and the positioning hole on the elastic beam that obtains a same engaged effect for maintaining the umbrella in opening. Moreover, it can be found that the extended slice (12) is able to be omitted. A user can press the lower end of the elastic beam directly to close the umbrella.

[0010] Evidently it meets the requirements of granting a patent. We hereby file an application for a patent grant.
