Stretching mate device for exercising purposes

A stretching mate device includes a shaft having two hand grips rotatably secured on the ends for allowing the hand grips to be rotated relative to each other and relative to the shaft. The hands of two persons may solidly or firmly or stably hold and grasp the hand grips for stretching or exercising purposes. The stretching mate device may also be used to conduct weighing exercises as that of the dumbbells. A spring may be secured to the hand grips for recovering the hand grips after the hand grips are rotated relative to each other against the spring.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a stretching mate device, and more particularly to a stretching mate device for exercising purposes.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] Typically, when two persons are conducting the stretching exercises, the two persons may have their fingers bent and engaged and hooked with each other for conducting the stretching exercises. However, the fingers of the two persons may not be forcefully engaged or hooked with each other, because the bent fingers may not be solidly or forcefully hooked with each other. Accordingly, two or more persons may not conduct stretching exercises with each other.

[0005] The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional stretching exercises.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a stretching mate device for exercising purposes.

[0007] The other objective of the present invention is to provide a stretching mate device including two hand grips that may be rotated relative to each other.

[0008] The further objective of the present invention is to provide a stretching mate device including a spring biasing device for recovering two hand grips that are rotated relative to each other.

[0009] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided a stretching mate device comprising a shaft including two ends, and two hand grips rotatably secured on the ends of the shaft respectively, for allowing the hand grips to be rotated relative to each other and relative to the shaft. The hands of every two persons may solidly or firmly or stably hold and grasp the hand grips for stretching or exercising purposes. The stretching mate device may also be used to conduct weighing exercises as that of the dumbbells.

[0010] The hand grips each includes an inner portion having a wavy surface formed therein for engaging with fingers of users, and for allowing the users to comfortably holding or grasping the hand grips.

[0011] A device is further provided for recovering the hand grips, and includes a spring having two ends secured to the hand grips respectively for applying a spring biasing force against the hand grips and for recovering the hand grips after the hand grips are rotated relative to each other against the spring.

[0012] The spring is a coil spring and is engaged on the shaft. A sleeve is preferably further provided and engaged on the spring and the shaft for shielding the spring and/or the shaft, and for preventing the users' fingers from being hurt by the spring.

[0013] Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of a detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0014] FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a stretching mate device for exercising purposes in accordance with the present invention;

[0015] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the stretching mate device for exercising purposes;

[0016] FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view taken along lines 3-3 of FIG. 2; and

[0017] FIGS. 4, 5, 6, 7 are schematic views illustrating the operation of the stretching mate device for exercising operations.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0018] Referring to the drawings, and initially to FIGS. 1-3, a stretching mate device for exercising purposes in accordance with the present invention comprises two hand grips 10, 20 each including a wavy inner surface 11, 21 for receiving or for engaging with the fingers of the users, and each including a stepped hole 12, 22 formed therein. A shaft 30 includes two ends engaged through the stepped holes 12, 22 of the hand grips 10. 20, and threaded with the lock nuts 31, for rotatably securing the ends of the shaft 30 to the hand grips 10, 20 and for allowing the hand grips 10, 20 to be rotated relative to the shaft 30. The hand grips 10, 20 are preferably rotatably secured to the ends of the shaft 30 and may not be moved toward or away from each other.

[0019] A spring 40, such as a coil spring 40, is engaged on the shaft 30 and includes two ends 41, 42 secured to the hand grips 10, 20 respectively for applying a recovering or spring-biasing force against the hand grips 10, 20 and for recovering the hand grips 10, 20 backward to the original position after the hand grips 10, 20 are rotated relative to each other against the spring 40. A sleeve 43 is engaged on the shaft 30 and the spring 40 for shielding or covering the spring 40 and for preventing the users' hands from being hurt by the spring 40. The shaft 30 and/or the hand grips 10, 20 may be made of plastic materials, or may be made of metal materials or the other heavy materials, for allowing the stretching mate device to be used to conduct weighing exercises as that of the dumbbells, best shown in FIGS. 4 and 5.

[0020] In operation, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the hands of two persons may hold the hand grips 10, 20 of the stretching mate device respectively and may rotate relative to each other by rotating the hand grips 10, 20 relative to each other against the spring 40. The users may solidly and stably hold and grasp the hand grips 10, 20 and may easily conduct stretching exercises, for example.

[0021] Accordingly, the stretching mate device in accordance with the present invention may be provided for exercising purposes, and includes two hand grips that may be rotated relative to each other, and includes a spring biasing device for recovering two hand grips that are rotated relative to each other.

[0022] Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
