Abstract

A new evolution in under fence decor, weed and erosion control. Gatorcap is a gator green colored poly vinyl constructed capping system, that can be placed under all types of outdoor fencing. The advantages of gatorcap besides it's clean uniform look are also to prevent grass and weeds from growing up into the fence. With it's unique flexible overlap on each side of the fence, gatorcap allows you to use your lawn mower or lawn tractor for trimming along fencing by cutting over it's guiding edge. You get a clean uniform trim without the use of lawn trimmers or weed killers that can cause soil damage and rain erosion.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] This invention relates generally to the field of outdoor fencing, and more particularly to an article of manufacture for under fence decor, weed and erosion control..

[0002] The gatorcap system was devised because of the unsightly look in weed and erosion problem for outdoor fencing. Currently there are no other ways to prevent this problem, except for costly measures such as concrete, asphalt or stone. These costly methods will prevent under fence weed and erosion problems, but are not practical in most fencing applications. Weed trimmers and weed killers are time consuming repetitious methods that can cause soil and erosion damage. Gatorcap gives you the protection and ease of lawn mower trimming to prevent weeds and grass buildup under any outdoor fence. This can only add beauty and value to your home and landscaping.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0025] In accordance with the present invention, FIG. 1 shows Gatorcap track which is an approximate 10″ wide by ¾″ high interlocking flexible poly vinyl constructed capping system, that is placed under the fence. It's textured gator green color blend in with the landscaping, and prevents grass and weeds from growing into the fence. Turning to FIG. 1A it shows Gatorcap System installed under fence with it's unique flexible extended edge on both sides of the fence. This allows for easy lawn mower trimming along fence by simply cutting over the extended area of gatorcap. With the bottom molded teeth that keep the gatorcap stable and by it's slight curve in the gator track, shown in FIGS. 1/1A makes for easy raking and removal of leaves that tend to build up around fences. In many cases, properly installed gatorcap may prevent animals from digging under fence.

[0026] In accordance with the present invention, FIG. 2 shows Gatorcap cover that fits around fence post and snap locks into the gator track. This allows for fast and easy installation for the beginner or for the professional. FIG. 3 shows the gatorcap corner that gives it that continued uniform look when you need to make a corner turn in you fencing. This also allows for fast easy installation.
