Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] This invention is directed to a utility purse which can be used as a regular purse during normal use and as a coin carrier device if one is in a casino for gambling.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] Heretofore it is well known that a purse can be used for normal purse usage as well as to place different items therein so that the different items will not be obvious from the outside.

[0005] Other type carriers have been used to carry baby items therein and some have been used as back packs to carry any such items as desired. A backpack has been patented as shown in U.S. Pat. No. 5,577,652 and a handbag has been patented as shown in U.S. Pat. No. 4,153,092.

SUMMARY AND OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The utility purse of this invention provides a purse which can be used for carrying different items which are hid from view and for carrying coin cup pouches for holding coin cups during use in a casino.

[0007] It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a utility purse which can be used as a standard purse as well as for other purposes.

[0008] Another object is to provide a utility purse which can be used to carry coin cups for carrying coins in a casino so that one does not have to carry the coin cups in their hands.

[0009] Still another object is to provide a utility purse which can be used to carry coin cups which are not obvious to another person.

[0010] Yet another object is to provide a utility purse in which not only coin cups can be carried out of sight but holders such as elastic straps are sewn onto a side of the purse so that cigarettes, cell phone, eyeglasses, casino scoring cards, etc. can be carried.

[0011] Other objects and advantages of the invention will become obvious to one skilled in the art upon a review of the drawings and specification.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0012] FIG. 1 illustrates a side view of the utility purse;

[0013] FIG. 2 illustrates a view of an inside of the utility purse with one side removed and with a zippered pouch on the ends;

[0014] FIG. 3a illustrates a pouch which is held in place within the purse by a strip of VELCRO;

[0015] FIG. 3b illustrates a pouch which is held in place within the purse by use of snaps; and

[0016] FIG. 4 illustrates a somewhat top view which illustrates pouches held in the purse which shows coin cups held within the pouches in the utility purse.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0017] A utility purse or handbag 10 generally of the usual construction of any suitable material with a zippered pocket 12 on an outside of one side of the handbag as shown in FIG. 1. one skilled in the art would realize that such a pocket could be made on each side of the handbag. The handbag is provided with separate shoulder straps 14, 16 each secured to opposite ends of the handbag by any suitable anchoring means 16. Not only does the handbag include shoulder straps 14 connected to opposite ends of the handbag but also has hand straps 18 connected to opposite sides at the top portion of the handbag. The handbag can be closed by a zipper or any suitable manner to protect the items within the handbag.

[0018] The inside of the zippered pocket and the inside of the handbag can be provided with elastic straps 19 and 21 sewn to an inside surface for the reception of items such as eyeglasses, cell phone, cigarettes, casino scoring cards or any such items. The inside of the handbag has a strip with a VELCRO surface 20 secured onto inner opposite ends and/or to one inner side surface near each end of the handbag by any suitable means such as sewing, glueing, etc. as shown in FIG. 2 to which a pair of pouches or cloth bags 22 having a matching piece of VELCRO 24 thereon is secured. It would be obvious to one skilled in the art that other means may be used to secure the pouches to the inner side surface or inner end of the purse such as snaps 20′ or buttons as shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3b. The pouches or bags 22 are sufficiently large that a coin cup 30 as usually found in a casino can fit into the pouches which are held in place by the VELCRO 20 or other means such as snaps 20′ as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. When not in a casino or not using a coin cup the pouch can be removed from the handbag so that the handbag can be used as a purse for carrying the things usually carried by a person. For storing the pouches while not in use as a coin holder, the purse can be made with a pouch 27 on each end of the purse which can be closed by a zipper, buttons or any suitable means 29.

[0019] The utility purse or handbag as shown in the drawings can be made of any suitable material which has opposite side surfaces 26, 28 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. Side surface 26 as shown in FIG. 1 has a zippered pocket in which different items can be carried and held in place by elastic bands 21. The inside surface of side 28 has elastic bands 19 secured thereto for supporting different items as set forth above. The main purse portion can be closed by a zipper or could have a flap which could be secured to a side surface of the purse.

[0020] As shown in FIG. 2, the VELCRO or snap strips can be secured to the end surfaces of the purse or to one side surface. The pouches 22 are held in the inside of the purse by matching VELCRO strips 24 or snaps 24′ shown in FIG. 3b which match the VELCRO strips 20 or snaps 20′ in the end surface or on a side surface of the purse.

[0021] It would be obvious to one skilled in the art that one could convert their purse or handbag to include a VELCRO strip onto an inside surface and to use a pouch or bag such as shown in FIG. 3 to hold a casino coin cup as shown in FIG. 4.

[0022] The utility purse or handbag of this invention provides a safe convenient device for storing different items and for carrying a coin cup which is not obvious to another person. Such a purse avoids carrying the coin cup by hand and provides a safe way to carry a coin cup.
