DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0016] A preferred embodiment of a chair arm in the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 2, 3 and 4, mainly includes an arm body 2, a mounting seat 3, and a cover 4.

[0017] The arm body 2 has a base 20 located at a lower portion thereof and provided with two polygonal recesses 21 respectively disposed in two opposite sidewalls of the base 20, a plurality of through holes 23 and an insert hole 22 both disposed in an interior of the base 20 and extending through the base 20 in communication with the two opposite polygonal recesses 21, and a plurality of screw members 24 capable of extending through the plurality of through holes 23.

[0018] The mounting seat 3 capable of being screwed with one of the two sidewalls of the base 20 of the arm body 2 has a stop plate 30 disposed at one side thereof and provided with a polygonal raised face 31 protruded on an outer sidewall of the stop plate 30 and corresponding to one of the two opposite polygonal recesses 21 of the base 20 of the arm body 2. The polygonal raised face 31 is provided with a plurality of screw holes 32.

[0019] The cover 4 capable of being closed on the other one of the two sidewalls of the base 20 of the arm body 2 has a post 40 disposed therein and provided with an insert rod 41 whose diameter is a little larger than that of the insert hole 22 of the base 20 of the arm body 2.

[0020] In assembling, when a left chair arm of the present invention is to be assembled, referring to FIGS. 2, 3 and 4, firstly fit the polygonal raised face 31 of the mounting seat 3 into the polygonal recess 21 disposed in a right sidewall of the base 20 of the arm body 2 with the polygonal raised face 31 correspondingly fitted with the polygonal recesses 21 of the base 20 of the arm body 2 so that the mounting seat 3 is capable of being limited on the right sidewall of the base 20 of the arm body 2. Secondly, respectively extend the plurality of screw members 24 through the plurality of through holes 23 of the base 20 of the arm body 2 to be firmly screwed in the plurality of screw holes 32 of the polygonal raised face 31 of the mounting seat 3. Finally, close the cover 4 on a left sidewall of the base 20 of the arm body 2 by having the insert rod 41 of the cover 4 tightly inserted into the insert hole 22 of the base 20 of the arm body 2. Since the diameter of the insert rod 41 of the cover 4 is a little larger than that of the insert hole 22 of the base 20 of the arm body 2, the insert rod 41 of the cover 4 and the insert hole 22 of the base 20 of the arm body 2 can be tightly fitted together so as to make the cover 4 firmly closed on the left sidewall of the base 20 of the arm body 2 without worry of coming loose, by which the left chair arm of the present invention is assembled all together and the assembled left chair arm is capable of being fixed at a left side of a chair seat by having the other side of the mounting seat 3 fastened at the left side of the chair seat.

[0021] When a right chair arm of the present invention is to be assembled, referring to FIG. 5, it is only necessary to exchange the positions of the mounting seat 3 and the cover 4 so as to be contrary to those as combined in the left chair arm. Firstly, fit the polygonal raised face 31 of the mounting seat 3 into the polygonal recess 21 disposed in the left sidewall of the base 20 of the arm body 2. Secondly, firmly screw the polygonal raised face 31 of the mounting seat 3 in left polygonal recess 21 of the base 20 of the arm body 2 by the plurality of screw members 24. Finally, close the cover 4 on the right sidewall of the base 20 of the arm body 2, by which the right chair arm of the present invention is assembled all together and the assembled right chair arm is capable of being fixed at a right side of the chair seat by having the other side of the mounting seat 3 fastened at the right side of the chair seat. The chair arm of the present invention is designed only with one single configuration, but is capable of exchanging its left and right assembling methods for being firmly fixed at the left or right side of the chair seat. Therefore, only one mold of the chair arm is adapted for the left and right chair arms, thereby reducing the costs in producing two molds and providing easy assemblage.

[0022] While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
