Support arrangement for sink

A support arrangement for a sink comprises a leg support under the sink including an internal space and a bottom hole in communication with the space; and a fastening assembly including a plurality of branches each having an open end fixed to a wall, a first fastener at an interconnected portion of the branches, and a threaded rod driven through the fastener and a second fastener to secure at the hole. This can secure the leg support and the fastening assembly together.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to support of sink and more particularly to such a support arrangement which can be easily, stably installed under sink. Also, the whole sink is aesthetic in appearance.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] A conventional sink is fixed, for example to a wall of bathroom. Typically, a support arrangement is provided under sink with water supply and drainpipe enclosed therein for preserving sink's appearance. Such a sink is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. The support arrangement of sink comprises a leg support 90, two lugs 91 on both sides, and two holes 92 each through lug 91. In assembly, leg support 90 is installed under sink. Then drill two holes on the wall aligned with holes 92. Finally, drive fasteners (e.g., bolts) through holes to secure lugs 91 to the wall. This completes the installation of support arrangement of sink.

[0003] However, the prior art suffered from several disadvantages. For example, worker has to drill holes on wall by, for example an electric drill. Inevitably, great noise is generated. Also, wall may be damaged if sufficient care is not taken. Further, bolts at lugs 91 are exposed. This can distract an external appearance of sink. Furthermore, lugs 91 may be broken or bolts may be rusted as time evolves. This can decrease the structural strength of the support arrangement. Thus improvement exists.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a support arrangement for sink wherein a leg support is fixed to wall by a concealed fastening assembly. Also, leg support does not have any projected elements, thus preserving the sink's appearance.

[0005] It is another object of the present invention to provide a support arrangement for sink capable of being easily, stably installed under the sink without damaging a structural strength of wall.

[0006] The above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0014] Referring to FIGS. 3 to 6, there is shown a sink 20 incorporating a first preferred embodiment of support arrangement 10 in accordance with the invention. Sink 20 is fixed to a wall 21. Support arrangement 10 comprises a leg support 30 under sink 20 and a fastening assembly 40. Leg support 30 comprises a space 31 with water supply and drainpipe enclosed therein, a recess 33 on an underside, and an aperture 32 on a bottom being communicated with both space 31 and recess 33. Fastening assembly 40 comprises two branches 41 shaped like a V, each having an open ring end 42 and a hole 421 through the ring end 42 wherein ring end 42 is at an angle with respect to branch 41. Fastening assembly 40 further comprises a bent section 43 interconnected branches 41, a fastener (e.g., nut) 44, a threaded hole 441 through a bottom portion of bent section 43, a gasket 46, a washer 47, a locknut 48, and a threaded rod 45 having an end slit 451.

[0015] In assembly, drive fasteners (e.g., bolts) through holes 421 to secure ring ends 42 to wall 21, i.e., at the same positions of fastening sink 20 to wall 21. Finally, drive threaded rod 45 through nut 44, threaded hole 441, gasket 46, washer 47, aperture 32, and locknut 48 to project from recess 33. This completes the installation of support arrangement 10 of sink 20. Also, it is possible of adjusting a fastening degree of leg support 30 and sink 20 by driving a screwdriver having a flat tip onto slit 451 of threaded rod 45. Hence, several advantages are obtained. For example, no hole is required to drill on wall 21 since branches 41 are secured to wall 21 at the same positions of sink 20 secured to wall 21. Also, leg support 30 does not have any projected elements and the fastening position of leg support 30 and fastening assembly 40 is on the concealed bottom of leg support 30, thus preserving the sink's appearance.

[0016] Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, there is shown a sink 20 incorporating a second preferred embodiment of support arrangement in accordance with the invention. The differences between first and second preferred embodiments are that in the second preferred embodiment there are provided a Y-shaped fastening assembly 40 including two branches 41 and a helical spring 51 having one end anchored to the joint of branches 41, and a recess 34 on an underside of leg support 30 with the other hooked end of helical spring 51 anchored therein.

[0017] Referring to FIG. 9, there is shown a sink 20 incorporating a third preferred embodiment of support arrangement in accordance with the invention. The differences between second and third preferred embodiments are that in the third preferred embodiment Y-shaped fastening assembly 40 has a torsion spring 52 confined by space 31 for supportnig leg support 30 and a post 53 extended from the joint of branches 41 to fasten at recess 34 with its hooked end.

[0018] While the invention has been described by means of specific embodiments, numerous modifications and variations could be made thereto by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention set forth in the claims.

Claims

1. A support arrangement for a sink comprising:

a leg support under the sink including an internal space and a bottom hole in communication with the space; and
a fastening assembly including a plurality of branches received in the space, each branch having an open end fixed to a wall, and a first fastener at an interconnected portion of the branches fastened at the hole so as to secure the leg support and the fastening assembly together.

2. The support arrangement of claim 1, wherein the first fastener is a nut having a threaded hole and further comprising a second fastener and a threaded rod driven through the hole of the leg support and the second fastener.

3. The support arrangement of claim 1, wherein the sink is fixed to the wall at the same positions of fastening the open ends of the branches to the wall.

4. The support arrangement of claim 1, wherein the open end of the branch comprises a ring and a central hole through the ring.

5. The support arrangement of claim 1, wherein the open end of the branch is at an angle with respect to the branch.

6. The support arrangement of claim 2, further comprising a recess under the hole of the leg support for receiving the second fastener.

7. The support arrangement of claim 1, wherein the second fastener is a locknut.

8. The support arrangement of claim 1, wherein the number of the branches is two and the branches are shaped like a V.

9. The support arrangement of claim 7, wherein the interconnected portion of the branches is formed as a bent section.

10. The support arrangement of claim 1, wherein the threaded rod has an end slit for permitting a screwdriver having a flat tip to drive thereonto.

11. The support arrangement of claim 1, further comprising a gasket between the hole of the leg support and the first fastener.

12. The support arrangement of claim 1, further comprising a washer between the hole of the leg support and the first fastener.

13. The support arrangement of claim 1, further comprising an elastic member anchored between the interconnected portion of the branches and the hole of the leg support.

14. The support arrangement of claim 13, wherein the elastic member is a helical spring.

15. The support arrangement of claim 13, wherein the elastic member is a torsion spring.

16. The support arrangement of claim 1, wherein the fastening assembly further comprises a post extended from the interconnected portion of the branches, the post having a hooked end fastened at the hole of the leg support.
