Table having pivotable leg sets

Abstract

A table includes a top supported on a frame which having two cone-shaped insertions. Two leg sets each include two legs with a connection member connected therebetween. Each of the connection members has a receiving member which receives the insertion which are allowed to be pivotable to adjust the position of the leg sets.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a table having two leg sets which are pivotably connected to the frame support the top of the table.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] A conventional table is shown in FIG. 1 and includes a top 12 supported on a frame 11 which is generally a rectangle frame and four legs 10 are welded to the frame 11. A plurality of sucking disks 13 are connected to a top surface of the frame 11 so as to suck the top 12 and position the top 12. The legs 10 are fixed to the frame 11 so that the assembly of the frame 11 and the legs 10 occupies too much space which increases transportation cost. Besides, when two or three people sit on the same side of the table, one of the people may be forced to let one leg 10 be located between his/her legs and this inherent shortcoming needs to be improved.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0003] In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a table which comprises a top supported on a frame which has two insertions extending downward therefrom. Two leg sets each include two legs and a connection member is connected between the two legs. A receiving member is connected to the connection member and the two insertions are pivotally received in the two respective receiving members of the two leg sets.

[0004] The primary object of the present invention is to provide a table wherein the legs can be pivoted when needed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0012] Referring to FIGS. 2 to 4, the table of the present invention comprises a top 4 which is supported on a frame 2 and a plurality of sucking disks 21 are put on the frame 2 and suck the bottom of the top 4. The frame 2 includes a main part 20 and two cross bars 200 are connected to the main part 20. Two insertions 22 are connected to two ends of the main part 20 and the two insertions 22 extend downward from the main part 20.

[0013] Two leg sets 3 each include two legs 33 and a connection member 32 is connected between the two legs 33. A receiving member 31 is connected to the connection member 32. Each of the insertions 22 is a cone-shaped member and each of the receiving members 31 has a cone-shaped recess which receives the insertion.

[0014] The load of the top 4 and the frame 2 push the insertions 22 to fit in the two receiving members 31 of the two leg sets 3 so that the top 4 is well positioned. As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, when the position of the leg sets 3 needs to be adjusted, the top 4 is first lifted a little bit and the leg sets 3 are allowed to be pivoted to a desired position, the top 4 is then lowered so that the position of the legs 33 can be adjusted according to users' needs.

[0015] The leg sets 3 and the frame 2 can be separated before being assembled so that the leg sets 3 and the frame 2 can be transported with less space occupied.

[0016] While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that fisher embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims

1. A table comprising:

a top;

a frame having two insertions extending downward therefrom and the top supported on the frame, and

two leg sets each including two legs and a connection member connected between the two legs, a receiving member connected to the connection member, the two insertions pivotally received in the two respective receiving members of the two leg sets.

2. The table as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the insertions is a cone-shaped member and each of the receiving members has a cone-shaped recess which receives the insertion.

3. The table as claimed in claim 1, wherein the frame includes a main part and two cross bars are connected to the main part, the two insertions connected to two ends of the main part.
