Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a glove device, and more particularly to a glove device for medical uses.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] Typically, tubes or hoses may be provided for engaging into the esophagus of the patients, for filling food or the other fluids into the stomach of the patients. The other tubes or hoses may be coupled to the blood vessels of the patients with syringes, for blood filling or drawing purposes, for example, or for injecting medicines into the blood vessels of the patients. The further tubes or hoses may be coupled to the urinary bladders of the patients, for drawing or inducing the urine out of the urinary bladders of the patients. However, for some of the patients, they may try to remove or disconnect the hoses or pipes from their bodies intentionally or inadvertently.

[0005] In order to prevent the patients from removing or disconnecting the hoses or the tubes from their bodies, may glove devices have been developed and provided for engaging onto the hands of the patients. Some of the gloves are made of strong or hard materials, such as the plastic or metal materials, for limiting the movements of the hands of the patients. However, the patients may feel uncomfortable. The other glove devices are made of canvas or the other woven or nonwoven materials which include a bad air circulation effect, such that the patients may also feel uncomfortable after use. The further gloves may include a number of rivets or the other fasteners for securing the gloves to the beds or to the other objects. However, the fasteners may hurt the patients inadvertently.

[0006] The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional glove devices.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0007] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a glove device for engaging onto the hands of the patients and for allowing the patients to feel comfortable when wearing the glove device.

[0008] The other objective of the present invention is to provide a glove device for allowing the hands of the patients to slightly move or exercise, but for preventing the hoses or the tubes from being disconnected from the bodies of the patients by the hands of the patients.

[0009] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided a glove device comprising a first and a second covering members superposed with each other, and including a peripheral portion secured together, and including a finger portion, and including a wrist portion having an opening formed therein for receiving hands of users into the glove device, the first covering member including at least one net member secured therein and having a plurality of perforations for air circulating purposes, and at least one bar secured to the first covering member, and disposed longitudinally on the first covering member, for preventing the covering members from being bent from the finger portions toward the wrist portions thereof, and for preventing the covering members from being bent by the hands of the users.

[0010] A peripheral rim may further be provided and may include two peripheral flanges engaged and secured onto the outer peripheral portions of the covering members.

[0011] Two strips may further be provided and secured onto the wrist portions of the covering members for reinforcing the wrist portions of the covering members.

[0012] An adjustable fastener strap may further be provided and secured onto the wrist portions of the covering members for adjustably securing the glove device onto the hands of the users.

[0013] A fastener belt may further be provided and secured onto the wrist portions of the covering members for securing the glove device to an object, such as the bed, and for preventing the hoses or the tubes from being disconnected from the bodies of the patients by the hands of the patients.

[0014] A fastener device, or an adhesive member, or the like may further be provided to secure the bar to the covering member.

[0015] Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of a detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to accompanying drawings.

[0023] FIG. 13 is a cross sectional view similar to FIG. 5, illustrating the other embodiment of the glove device; and

[0024] FIGS. 14, 15, 16, 17 are partial cross sectional views illustrating the operation of the glove device as shown in FIG. 13.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0025] Referring to the drawings, and initially to FIGS. 1-5, a glove device 20 in accordance with the present invention comprises two covering members 30 aligned with each other, or superposed with each other, and including an outer peripheral portion secured together with a peripheral rim 21 which has two peripheral flanges 27, 28 for engaging onto the outer peripheral portions of the covering members 30, and for securing to the covering members 30 with such as the stitches 29.

[0026] The covering members 30 each includes one or more strips or bars or areas or segments 31 that may be made of woven or nonwoven cloth materials, and one or more net members 32 secured between the segments 31 with such as the stitches, and having a number of perforations formed therein for increasing the air circulation effect through the covering members 30, and for allowing the patients to comfortably wear the glove device 20. One ends 33 or the wrist portions of the covering members 30 are not secured together for forming an opening 34 in the wrist portions 33 of the covering members 30 and for allowing the hands of the users to engage into the glove device 20.

[0027] Two flaps or strips 22 are further provided and secured onto the wrist portions 33 of the covering members 30 for reinforcing the wrist portions 33 of the covering members 30. An adjustable fastener strap 25 is secured onto the ends or the wrist portions 33 of the covering members 30 for adjustably and solidly securing the glove device 20 onto the hands of the patients. A fastener belt 26 may further be provided and has a middle portion secured to the glove device 20 for selectively fastening the glove device 20 and thus the hands of the patients to the bed 70 (FIGS. 10-12) or the other objects, and for preventing the hoses or the tubes 71 from being disconnected from the bodies of the patients by the hands of the patients.

[0028] The glove device 20 further includes one or more resilient bars 24 secured to the covering members 30, such as secured to the segments 31 of the covering members 30 with adhesive strap 23, or by hook and loop fastening devices, or by stitches. The resilient bars 24 may also be directly secured onto the covering members 30, and may include a suitable resilience and stiffness, and disposed or extended along the longitudinal direction of the glove device 20 or of the covering members 30, for allowing the patients' hands to slight bend or to do some exercises within the glove device 20 only, as shown in FIGS. 6-9.

[0029] However, the resilient bars 24 may not be bent for more than such as 30 degrees; i.e., may not be bent from the finger end or finger side 37 toward the wrist portion 33, such that the patients may not bend their palms and thus may not use their hands to tear or to disconnect the hoses or the tubes 71 from the patients.

[0030] Referring next to FIGS. 13-17, the glove device 20 may also include one or more resilient bars 24 secured to only one side of the glove device 20, or secured to only one of the covering members 30, and disposed in the inner side of the palm, for preventing the glove device 20 from being bent by the patients, and for preventing the hoses or the tubes 71 from being disconnected from the bodies of the patients by the hands of the patients.

[0031] Accordingly, the glove device in accordance with the present invention may be used for engaging onto the hands of the patients and for allowing the patients to feel comfortable when wearing the glove device, and for allowing the hands of the patients to slightly move or exercise, but for preventing the hoses or the tubes from being disconnected from the bodies of the patients by the hands of the patients.

[0032] Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
