A displayable jewelry box includes a case body having an exterior surface, an interior surface, an interior chamber, and an opening communicating with the interior chamber, so as to define at least an opening edge formed along the interior chamber, at least an enveloping sheet having at least a protective layer and a cover layer attached to the exterior surface of the case body, and a receiving arrangement provided on the case body for receiving the protective layer of the enveloping sheet into the interior chamber so as to tensely retain the cover layer of the enveloping sheet on the exterior surface of the case body.

BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a jewelry box, and more particularly to a displayable jewelry box which is wrapped by an enveloping sheet wherein corners of the jewelry box are fittedly enclosed by the enveloping sheet without folds and wrinkles thereof.

[0003] 2. Description of Related Arts

[0004] Traditionally, an ornamental object such as a watch or jewelry is held and displayed in a jewelry box for purposely showing the aesthetic characteristics of the ornamental object. Additionally, packaging of the merchandise is considered as part of the advertising effort. Therefore, the shape and made of the container are drawing more attention now than ever.

[0005] Generally, the containers are made by covering a hard wall shell with wrapping sheet such as fabric or leather. Using of fabric or leather made wrapping sheet not only provides durability and aesthetical appearance in general, but also provides an indication of authentic of the item and exquisite craftsmanship of the made. However, even the most conventional shape container such as rectangular shape with round corners when covered by wrapping sheet such as fabric or leather require cutting and folding of the material to fits with the curves of the container. As a result, the wrapping sheet must be folded or wrinkled at the corners of the container. There are often times a high percentage of waste in the materials and even more in the time used. The appearance of the container is limited by the conventional method and folding line and the seam is subject to tearing and wearing.

[0006] Therefore, a need has arisen for a new method of covering containers with round corners using a wrapping sheet that overcomes the disadvantages and deficiencies of the prior art. This method can be also be used to cover many other containers comprises thin walls.

SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

[0007] A main object of the present invention is to provide a displayable jewelry box which is wrapped by an enveloping sheet wherein corners of the jewelry box are fittedly enclosed by the enveloping sheet without folds and wrinkles thereof.

[0008] Another object of the present invention is to provide a displayable jewelry box wherein the enveloping sheet is capable of fittedly wrapping an exterior surface of the jewelry box having round corners.

[0009] Another object of the present invention is to provide a displayable jewelry box, wherein receiving portions of the enveloping sheet is reinforced to fold into an interior cavity of the jewelry box so as to tightly stretch the enveloping sheet on the exterior surface of the jewelry box without distorting the shape of the enveloping sheet.

[0010] Another object of the present invention is to provide a displayable jewelry box wherein no cutting of the enveloping sheet is required to fit to the curve of the jewelry box for fittedly wrapping the enveloping sheet on the exterior surface of the jewelry box, so as to simplify the manufacturing process of wrapping up the jewelry box by the enveloping sheet while being cost and time effective.

[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide a displayable jewelry box wherein the method of wrapping the jewelry box by the enveloping sheet is adapted for applying on any conventional jewelry sheet having any size and shape, so as to provide an aesthetic appearance of the jewelry box.

[0012] Another object of the present invention is to provide a displayable jewelry box wherein no expensive or complicated structure is required to employ in the present invention in order to achieve the above mentioned objects. Therefore, the present invention successfully provides an economic and efficient solution to fittedly enclose the jewelry box in the enveloping sheet.

[0013] Accordingly, in order to accomplish the above objects, the present invention provides a displayable jewelry box, comprising:

[0014] a case body having an exterior surface, an interior surface, an interior chamber, and an opening communicating with the interior chamber, so as to define at least an opening edge formed along the interior chamber;

[0015] at least an enveloping sheet having at least a protective layer and a cover layer attached to the exterior surface of the case body; and

[0016] a receiving arrangement provided on the case body for receiving the protective layer of the enveloping sheet into the interior chamber so as to tensely retain the cover layer of the enveloping sheet on the exterior surface of the case body.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0023] Referring to FIG. 1 of the drawings, a displayable jewelry box according to a first preferred embodiment of the present invention is illustrated, wherein the displayable jewelry box comprises a case body 10 and an enveloping sheet 20 wrapped on the case body 10.

[0024] The case body 10 has an exterior surface 11, an interior surface 12, a interior chamber 13 defining within the interior surface 12, and an opening 14 communicating with the interior chamber 13, so as to define at least an opening edge 15 formed along the interior chamber 13.

[0025] The enveloping sheet 20 has at least an interior protective layer 21 and a cover layer 22 attached to the exterior surface 11 of the case body 10, wherein the protective layer 21 of the enveloping sheet 20 is integrally extended from the cover layer 22 thereof to form an integral piece of the enveloping sheet 20. Thus, the cover layer 22 is preferred to have a size and shaped to cover the entire exterior surface 11 of the case body 10.

[0026] The displayable jewelry box further comprises a receiving arrangement 30 provided on the case body 10 for receiving the protective layer 21 of the enveloping sheet 20 into the interior chamber 13 so as to tensely retain the cover layer 22 of the enveloping sheet 20 on the exterior surface 11 of the case body 10.

[0027] According to the preferred embodiment, the case body 10, having a rectangular shape, comprises four boundary walls 101 to form the interior chamber 13 within the boundary walls 101 wherein the opening edge 15 is defined at a top edge of each of the boundary walls 101.

[0028] The displayable jewelry box further comprises a cover body 40 mounted on the case body 10 for enclosing the interior chamber 13. The cover body 40 is pivotally connected to the case body 10 via a conventional pivot hinge 41, as shown in FIG. 2. Alternatively, the cover body 40 is detachably mounted on the case body 10 as shown in FIG. 5.

[0029] The cover layer 22 of the enveloping sheet 20 is defined at an enclosing area thereof covering the exterior surface 11 of the case body 10 and the protective layer 21 of the enveloping sheet 20 is defined at the rest of the enclosing area thereof which is an excessive portion of the enveloping sheet 20. The enveloping sheet 20 can be made of any sheet-like material such as fabric or leather wherein a decorative pattern is capable of printing on the cover layer 22 of the enveloping sheet 20 for enhancing the aesthetic appearance of the displayable jewelry box. Moreover, a cushion pad is adapted to be attached to the enveloping sheet 20 between the cover layer 22 thereof and the exterior surface of the case body 10 so as to provide a soft-touch feeling of the displayable jewelry box of the present invention.

[0030] The receiving arrangement 30 has at least an elongated groove 31 extended from the opening edge 15 of the case body 10 for communicating the interior chamber 13 with outside wherein the protective layer 21 of the enveloping sheet 20 is foldably received in the interior chamber 13 through the elongated groove 31. Accordingly, the elongated groove 31 has a predetermined width adapted for the protective layer 21 of the enveloping sheet 20 passing therethrough.

[0031] As shown in FIG. 2, the receiving arrangement 30 has four elongated grooves 31 respectively provided at corner edges of the case body 10 wherein each of the elongated grooves 31 is a through groove downwardly extended from the opening edge 15 of the case body 10. Furthermore, the enveloping sheet 20 has four protective layers 21 provided at four corner portions thereof so as to fold the protective layers 21 to the interior chamber 13 through the elongated grooves 31 respectively.

[0032] As shown in FIG. 3, the present invention further provides a process of attaching the enveloping sheet 20 on the case body 10, which comprises the following steps.

[0033] (1) Provide the case body 10 wherein the corner edges of the case body 10 are transversely cut from the opening edge 15 to form the elongated grooves 31 of the receiving arrangement 30 respectively.

[0034] (2) Attach the enveloping sheet 20 on the case body 10 by aligning the cover layer 22 of the enveloping sheet 20 on the exterior surface 11 of the case body 10.

[0035] (3) Fold each protective layer 21 of the enveloping sheet 20 into the interior chamber 13 through the respective elongated body 10 in such a manner that the cover layer 22 of the enveloping sheet 20 is tensely overlapped on the exterior surface 11 of the case body 10.

[0036] In step (2), in order to firmly attach the enveloping sheet 20 on the case body 20, an adhesive element such as glue is adapted to evenly applied on the cover layer 22 of the enveloping sheet 20 and/or the exterior surface 11 of the case body 10.

[0037] In step (3), after the cover layer 22 of the enveloping sheet 20 is aligned with the exterior surface 11 of the case body 10, the protective layer 21 of the enveloping sheet 20 is arranged to be pulled into the interior chamber 13 of the case body 10 through the elongated groove 31 of the receiving arrangement 30. Therefore, no cut is required on the enveloping sheet 20 to fit the cover layer 22 on the exterior surface 11 of the case body 10, so as to reduce the manufacturing process of the displayable jewelry box.

[0038] Moreover, while pulling the protective layer 21 into the interior chamber 13 of the case body 10, the cover layer 22 is correspondingly stretched in a tension manner so as to fittedly overlap on the exterior surface 11 of the case body 10. Therefore, no fold or wrinkle of the enveloping sheet 20 is formed on the case body 10. It is worth to mention that even the case body 10 has a round corner, the cover layer 22 of the enveloping sheet 20 is fittedly and overlappedly attached on the exterior surface 11 of the case body 10 since the excessive portion (protective layer 21) of the enveloping sheet 20 is folded into the interior chamber 13 of the case body 10.

[0039] For holding the protective layer 21 in the interior chamber 13 in position, the protective layer 21 is firmly attached to the interior surface 12 of the case body 10 by glue so as to retain the cover layer 22 of the enveloping sheet 20 on the exterior surface 11 of the case body 10.

[0040] Moreover, the displayable jewelry box further comprises an interior casing 50 having a sized and shaped fittedly disposed in the interior chamber 13 in such a manner that the protective layer 21 is securely sandwiched between the case body 10 and the interior casing 50 so as to further retain the protective layer 21 in position. Furthermore, the protective layer 21 is covered up by the interior casing 50 so as to protect the protective layer 21 and enhance the aesthetic appearance of the displayable jewelry box.

[0041] According to the preferred embodiment, the case cover 40 is also capable of being wrapped by the enveloping sheet 20 wherein the elongated groove 31 of the receiving arrangement 30 is provided on the case cover 40 in such a manner that the cover layer 22 is attached on the case cover 40 while the protective layer 22 is received into an interior of the case cover 40 through the elongated groove 31.

[0042] Moreover, when more than one enveloping sheets 20 are used to warp on the case body 10, the protective layers 21 of the enveloping sheets 20 are capable of pulling into the interior chamber 13 through the elongated groove 31. In other words, the user is able to use two or more enveloping sheets 20, having different colors or made by different materials, to wrap on the case body 10 to provide a prefect corner edge attachment of the enveloping sheets 20 without folds and wrinkles thereof.

[0043] FIG. 4 illustrates an alternative mode of the case body 10A which comprises a circular boundary wall 101A to define the exterior surface 11A, the interior surface 12A, and the interior chamber 13A within the boundary wall 101A.

It is worth to mention that the alternative mode of the case body 10A mainly illustrates the enveloping sheet 20A is capable of fittedly wrapping on the case body 10A having any shape of the exterior surface 11A such as a curve shape of the exterior surface 11A.

[0045] Referring to FIG. 5, a second embodiment of the jewelry box illustrates an alternative mode of the first embodiment of the present invention, wherein the case body 10′ has an exterior surface 11′, an interior surface 12′, a interior chamber 13′ defining within the interior surface 12′, and an opening 14′ communicating with the interior chamber 13′, so as to define at least an opening edge 15′ formed along the interior chamber 13′.

[0049] As shown in FIG. 6, the holding cavity 321′ has a size adapted to securely receive the protective layer 21′ of the enveloping sheet 20′ so as to tensely retain the cover layer 22′ of the enveloping sheet 20′ in position. Thus, the adhesive element is adapted to apply on the protective layer 21′ of the enveloping layer 20′ to firmly attach the protective layer 21′ to a sidewall of the holding cavity 321′ to securely hold the cover layer 22′ of the enveloping layer 20′ in position. Furthermore, the process disclosed in the first embodiment is adapted to perform in the second embodiment in order to fittedly attach the enveloping sheet 20′ to the case body 10′.

[0050] As it is mentioned above, the cover body 40′, which is detachably mounted on the case body 10′, is adapted to be configured with the same structure of the case body 10′ for the enveloping sheet 20′ wrapping on the cover body 40′ via the receiving arrangement 30′, so as to further enhance the aesthetic appearance of the displayable jewelry box.

[0051] While the foregoing description and diagrams describe the preferred embodiments and their alternatives of the present invention, it should be appreciated that certain obvious modifications, variations, and substitutions may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention, such as modifying the case body to have a hemispherical shape.

Claims

1. A displayable jewelry box, comprising:

a case body having an exterior surface, an interior surface, an interior chamber defining within said interior surface, and an opening communicating said the interior chamber, so as to define at least an opening edge formed along said interior chamber;
at least an enveloping sheet having at least a protective layer and a cover layer attached to said exterior surface of said case body; and
a receiving arrangement provided on said case body for receiving said protective layer of said enveloping sheet into said interior chamber so as to tensely retain said cover layer of said enveloping sheet on said exterior surface of said case body.

2. A displayable jewelry box, as recited in claim 1, wherein said receiving arrangement has at least an elongated groove provided said case body for communicating said interior chamber with outside in such a manner that said protective layer of said enveloping sheet is foldably received in said interior chamber through said elongated groove.

3. A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 2, wherein said elongated groove is a through groove extended from said opening edge of said case body.

4. A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 2, formed by a process which comprises the steps of:

(a) providing said case body wherein said case body is transversely cut from said opening edge to form said elongated groove of said receiving arrangement;
(b) attaching said enveloping sheet on said case body by aligning said cover layer of said enveloping sheet on side exterior surface of said case body; and
(c) folding said protective layer of said enveloping sheet into said interior chamber through said elongated body in such a manner that said cover layer of said enveloping sheet is tensely overlapped on said exterior surface of said case body.

5. A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 3, formed by a process which comprises the steps of:

(a) providing said case body wherein said case body is transversely cut from said opening edge to form said elongated groove of said receiving arrangement;
(b) attaching said enveloping sheet on said case body by aligning said cover layer of said enveloping sheet on side exterior surface of said case body; and
(c) folding said protective layer of said enveloping sheet into said interior chamber through said elongated body in such a manner that said cover layer of said enveloping sheet is tensely overlapped on said exterior surface of said case body.

6. A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 2, wherein said case body further comprises a boundary wall to form a rectangular box shape structure having four corner edges, wherein said elongated groove is formed at each corner edge of said case body.

7. A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 3, wherein said case body further comprises a boundary wall to form a rectangular box shape structure having four corner edges, wherein said elongated groove is formed at each corner edge of said case body.

8. A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 5, wherein said case body further comprises a boundary wall to form a rectangular box shape structure having four corner edges, wherein said elongated groove is formed at each corner edge of said case body.

9. A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 2, wherein said protective layer of said enveloping sheet is firmly attached on said interior surface of said case body so as to tensely retain said cover sheet of said enveloping sheet on said exterior sheet of said case body in position.

10. A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 3, wherein said protective layer of said enveloping sheet is firmly attached on said interior surface of said case body so as to tensely retain said cover sheet of said enveloping sheet on said exterior sheet of said case body in position.

11. A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 5, wherein said protective layer of said enveloping sheet is firmly attached on said interior surface of said case body so as to tensely retain said cover sheet of said enveloping sheet on said exterior sheet of said case body in position.

12. A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 8, wherein said protective layer of said enveloping sheet is firmly attached on said interior surface of said case body so as to tensely retain said cover sheet of said enveloping sheet on said exterior sheet of said case body in position.

A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 3, further comprising an interior casing having a sized and shaped fittedly disposed in said interior chamber wherein said protective layer is securely sandwiched between said case body and said interior casing so as to retain said protective layer in position.

A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 8, further comprising an interior casing having a sized and shaped fittedly disposed in said interior chamber wherein said protective layer is securely sandwiched between said case body and said interior casing so as to retain said protective layer in position.

A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 12, further comprising an interior casing having a sized and shaped fittedly disposed in said interior chamber wherein said protective layer is securely sandwiched between said case body and said interior casing so as to retain said protective layer in position.

A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 2, wherein said receiving arrangement further comprises a sheet holder inwardly protruded from said interior surface of said case body within said interior chamber thereof, wherein said sheet holder has an elongated holding cavity communicating with said elongated groove to outside in such a manner that said protective layer of said enveloping sheet is folded into said holding cavity of said sheet holder through said elongated groove.

A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 3, wherein said receiving arrangement further comprises a sheet holder inwardly protruded from said interior surface of said case body within said interior chamber thereof, wherein said sheet holder has an elongated holding cavity communicating with said elongated groove to outside in such a manner that said protective layer of said enveloping sheet is folded into said holding cavity of said sheet holder through said elongated groove.

A displayable jewelry body, as recited in claim 7, wherein said receiving arrangement further comprises a sheet holder inwardly protruded from said interior surface of said case body within said interior chamber thereof, wherein said sheet holder has an elongated holding cavity communicating with said elongated groove to outside in such a manner that said protective layer of said enveloping sheet is folded into said holding cavity of said sheet holder through said elongated groove.

19. A displayable jewelry box, as recited in claim 18, wherein said protective layer of said enveloping sheet is firmly attached on a sidewall of said holding cavity so as to tensely retain said cover sheet of said enveloping sheet on said exterior sheet of said case body in position.

20. A displayable jewelry box, as recited in claim 19, wherein said protective layer of said enveloping sheet is firmly attached on a sidewall of said holding cavity so as to tensely retain said cover sheet of said enveloping sheet on said exterior sheet of said case body in position.
