Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention is related to a packing box, and more particularly to a packing box made up of plastic material.

[0003] 2. Description of Related Art

[0004] Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, a conventional packing box generally made up of a plastic material is used for containing foods. The packing box is composed a container (44) integrated with a cover (40). The cover (40) is connected with the container (44) by a ridge (42) formed at a side between the container (44) and the cover (40). The cover (40) then can be turned about the ridge (42) to open or close the packing box.

[0005] A first rim (41) is formed around the cover (40) and abuts a second rim (45) formed around the container (44). When the cover (40) is closed, the ridge (42) is shaped as a tube with two openings (43) defined at two ends thereof, and is protruded from the cover (40) and the container (44).

[0006] When a user holds the packing box, there is a possibility of fingers being hurt by sharp edges (431) of the openings (43).

[0007] Therefore, the invention provides an improved packing box to mitigate and/or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The main objective of the invention is to provide a packing box that has smooth tapered portions formed at two distal ends of a ridge for prevent a user's finger from being injured.

[0009] Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0010] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a packing box in accordance with the invention;

[0011] FIG. 2 is an enlarged partially perspective view of the packing box in FIG. 1;

[0012] FIG. 3 is an enlarged top view of the packing box in FIG. 1;

[0013] FIG. 4 is a perspective view of another embodiment of the packing box in accordance with the invention;

[0014] FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a conventional packing box; and

[0015] FIG. 6 is an enlarged top view of the conventional packing box.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0016] Referring to FIGS. 1-3, a packing box in accordance with the invention made up of a plastic material is composed of a cover (10) and a container (20). A ridge (30) is formed between the cover (10) and the container (20) to connect the cover (10) with the container (20). Two tapered portions (31) are respectively formed at two ends of the ridge (30). A first rim (11) is formed around the cover (10) and abuts a second rim (21) formed around the container (20) when the cover (10) is closed.

[0017] Two arcuate protective borders (12), which extend from the cover (10), are respectively formed beside and spaced apart from the ridge (30). Each of the gaps between the protective borders (12) and the ridge (30) is narrower than a normal finger.

[0018] When a user holds the packing box, it is almost impossible for the user to touch the tapered portions (31) of the ridge (30) because of the narrow gaps. Even if a finger touches the tapered portions (31) of the ridge (30), the finger will not be hurt by the smooth tapered portions (31).

[0019] FIG. 4 illustrates an embodiment of the invention that has patterns formed on a bottom surface of the container (20).

[0020] From the above description, it is noted that the invention has the following advantages:

[0021] 1. Because of the narrow gaps, the user's finger cannot touch the distal ends of the ridge and so will not be hurt.

[0022] 2. Even if a finger touches the distal ends of the ridge, the finger will not be hurt by the smooth tapered portions.

[0023] 3. The protective borders are arcuate and safe for the user.

[0024] It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
