Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a makeup brush, and more specifically to a makeup brush in which the joining of the powder cartridge and the middle cap and the joining of the powder cartridge and the cover can be securely maintained.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] Generally, a makeup brush is a makeup device for applying powder to the face and used to adjust the skin color, cover skin flaws and protect the skin from dust, wind, ultraviolet rays, etc.

[0005] Such a makeup brush is, as shown in FIG. 1, composed of a body 1 having a brush 2, and a middle cap 3 and a powder cartridge 6 that are joined in sequence to the top of the body 1.

[0006] The middle cap 3 has a joining hole 4 formed in the center of the top and around the joining hole 4 are formed three through holes 5, for example.

[0007] The powder cartridge 6 has a hook 7 protruded in the center of the bottom so as to be joined with the joining hole 4 of the middle cap 3, and around the hook 7 are formed three feed holes 8 opposed to the through holes 5 of the middle cap 3.

[0008] The cover 9 joined to the top end of the powder cartridge 6 is joined pivotly to one side of the top of the powder cartridge 6 by a hinge 10 so that the inside of the powder cartridge 6 can be opened during use.

[0009] However, the conventional makeup brush having such a composition has some problems.

[0010] First, the joining of the middle cap and the powder cartridge 6 is unstable. Namely, one hook 7 in the center of the powder cartridge 6 is joined state to one joining hole 4 in the center of the middle cap 3, and accordingly two parts are kept joined only in one region, so a little clearance is created in the direction where the middle cap 3 and the powder cartridge 6 are perpendicular to the central axis. Because of this, a gap is created when the middle cap 3 and the powder cartridge 6 are shaken in the direction perpendicular to the central axis, and the problem is that powder leaks through the gap so created.

[0011] Another problem is that because the powder cartridge 6 and the cover 9 are joined by the hinge 10 in the conventional makeup brush, the cover 9 is frequently opened by impact or collision with other things when the makeup brush is carried in a bag. Due to this, powder would leak out of the inside of the powder cartridge 6, contaminating the bag.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0012] It is an object of the present invention to provide a makeup brush, in which not only the middle cap and powder cartridge are kept securely joined but also the opening and covering of the cover are made with the joining of the powder cartridge and the cover kept securely, so that the loss of powder can be prevented by preventing powder from leaking out through the gap between powder cartridge and cover.

[0013] In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a makeup brush comprising: a body in and out of which a brush is taken; a middle cap that is joined to the top end of said body and in which a pair of latch protrusions are formed opposedly at the inner rim of the top end; a powder cartridge that is provided with guide slots formed around both sides of the bottom, insert slots formed at the point halfway between both guide slots so that said latch protrusions of the middle cap advance along the guide slots, a plurality of support jaws formed in the guide slots so that the latch protrusions advancing along the guide slots can move step by step, and a stepped portion formed in the guide slots so as to obstruct the movement of the latch protrusions, and in which a slope is formed at the top end of the opening portion thereof; and a cover that is joined to the opening of said powder cartridge.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0014] Other objects and aspects of the present invention will become apparent from the following description of embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:

[0015] FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view showing the conventional makeup brush;

[0016] FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view showing the makeup brush of the present invention;

[0017] FIG. 3 is an assembled cross sectional view of the brush illustrated in FIG. 2;

[0018] FIG. 4 is a plan view showing the operation of the main part of the brush illustrated in FIG. 2.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0019] Below will be described in detail a makeup brush according to a preferable embodiment of the present invention with reference to the attached drawings.

[0020] FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view showing the makeup brush of the present invention; FIG. 3 an assembled cross sectional view of the brush illustrated in FIG. 2; and FIG. 4 is a plan view showing the operation of the main part of the brush illustrated in FIG. 2. As shown in these drawings, the makeup brush according to the present invention is made up generally of a body 11, a middle cap 13, a powder cartridge 6, and a cover 24.

[0021] In and out of the body 11 is taken the brush 12, and to the top end of the body 11 is joined the bottom end of the middle cap 13. On the top of the middle cap 13 are formed two through holes 14, and on the inner rim of the top end are formed a pair of latch protrusions 15 opposedly.

[0022] The powder cartridge 16 has two feed holes 17 formed on the bottom so as to be opposed to the through holes 14 of the middle cap 13, a pair of guide slots 18 formed on the outer rim of the feed holes 17, and insert slots 19 formed at the point halfway between both guide slots 18 so that the latch protrusions 15 advance along the guide slots 18.

[0023] Here, in the guide slots 18 are formed a plurality of support jaws 20 at a predetermined interval so that the latch protrusions 15 of the middle cap 13 advancing along the guide slots 18 can move step by step. At both ends of the guide slot 18s are formed stepped portions 21 obstructing the rotation of the latch protrusions 15.

[0024] The top end of the opening portion of the powder cartridge 16 is formed in a slope 23 to make it easy to put powder into the powder cartridge 16, and around the opening of the powder cartridge 16 is formed a male screw 22.

[0025] On the inner rim of the cover 24 is formed a female screw 25 that is to be joined to the male screw 22 of the powder cartridge 16.

[0026] In the makeup brush with such a composition of the present invention, if the two latch protrusions 15 of the middle cap 13 are adhered closely each other opposed to the two insert slots 19 of the powder cartridge 16, the two latch protrusions 15 are guided to the inside of the insert slots 19 to be placed in the guide slots 18.

[0027] If the middle cap 13 or the powder cartridge 16 is rotated in any one direction in this condition, the latch protrusions 15 are rotated along the guide slots 18. At this time, because the plurality of support jaws 20 are formed at a predetermined interval in the guide slots 18, the latch protrusions 15 are rotated step by step in the guide slots 18 by the plurality of these support jaws 20. When the latch protrusions 15 reach the stepped portion 21 on one side of the guide slots 18, the rotation of the latch protrusions 15 is obstructed by the stepped portion 15 so they cannot rotate any further.

[0028] As mentioned above, in the makeup brush of the present invention, a pair of the latch protrusions 15 of the middle cap 13 are stopped while joined to the guide slots 18 on both sides of the powder cartridge 16, so the joined state is maintained more securely than in the conventional structure where only one part is joined.

[0029] And the makeup brush of the present invention is characterized by the structure in which the powder cartridge 16 and the cover 24 are joined. Namely, since the female screw 25 of the cover 24 is fitted to the male screw of the powder cartridge 16, these won't be separated unless the cover 24 or the powder cartridge 16 is rotated many turns on purpose.

[0030] Therefore, in the makeup brush of the present invention, the cover 24 won't be opened even if it is shaken severely while carried in a bag or impact is applied, and accordingly powder leaking is prevented to avoid loss.

[0031] And because the slope 23 is formed at the top end of the opening portion of the powder cartridge 16, an additional advantage is that it is very convenient to scoop powder into the powder cartridge 16.

[0032] As mentioned above, according to the makeup brush of the present invention, if the two latch protrusions of the middle cap are inserted into the corresponding guide slots of the powder cartridge and then the middle cap or the powder cartridge is rotated in any one direction, the two latch protrusions are moved along the guide slots and insert slots, supported by a plurality of support jaws formed in the guide slots, and if it is rotated further the movement of the latch protrusions is obstructed by the stepped portion. Thus, not only the middle cap and both sides of the powder cartridge are securely joined and supported by a pair of the latch protrusions, the guide slots, the support jaws, and the stepped portion, but also the powder cartridge and the cover are screw-joined to make the opening of the powder cartridge airtight. Since the overall assembled state of the makeup brush is good, the reliability of the product is improved, and since the loss of powder is prevented by secure assembly, it is advantageous in the economic aspect as well.
