Pigtails headband

Abstract

A headband for creating pigtails. The headband comprising a headband with a hair-band attached to each of its ends. In use the headband is placed on top of the user's head and each looped hair-band is secured to a section of hair at both sides of the head to form pigtails.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention and method relates to a headband with an elastic hair-band attached to each end. More particularly a semi-circle headband with elastic hair-bands attached to each end for securing hair into pigtails.

[0003] 2. Description of Prior Art

[0004] Many people like to fasten their hair into pigtails. This is a classic and stylish way to secure the hair, however, the current invention allows the user to secure hair back with a headband while also securing the hair into pigtails with a single hair accessory.

SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide an instrument which is convenient, practical, and inexpensive for use in hair styling.

[0006] A further object is to provide an instrument that will keep pigtails secured to a headband.

[0007] A further object is to provide such an instrument that can be used unassisted by the individual styling their hair, eliminating the expense of a professional stylist.

[0008] A further object is to provide an instrument that can be reused over and over again.

[0009] A further object is to provide a single instrument that will quickly hold the user's hair back with a headband while simultaneously holding hair in pigtails.

[0010] A further object is to provide an instrument that will keep pigtails in alignment with each other and with a headband.

[0011] According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided two tiny looped hair-bands, substantially the same circumference, attached to the ends of an elongated headband.

[0012] According to the arrangement described above, each tiny looped hair-band is secured to the ends of the headband.

[0013] In use the headband is placed on top of the user's head and the hair that falls to either side of the user's head is placed into each tiny looped hair-band and secured into pigtails.

[0014] Accordingly a preferred embodiment the two tiny hair-bands are made of a resilient material such as elastic and are looped to substantially the same circumference, and the strip of elongated material is a semi-circle substantially rigid headband. The tiny looped hair-bands are either permanently attached to each end of the headband or they are removably attached by tiny hooks at the headband ends. The hooks allow the hair-bands to be changed when worn-out or to change the hair-band color. There can be a second headband attached to each looped hair-band adjacent to and mirroring the first headband. This version is used in the same way, however, the two headbands are placed slightly apart from each other to hold a wider portion of the user's hair at the top of the head. The looped hair-bands can also have two beads attach thereto, like the traditional ponytail beaded hair-bands; wherein the beads are overlapped to secure. Further, the looped hair-bands can be replaced with a ribbon that could be tied around each pigtail to secure.

[0015] In another embodiment the headband portion is an elongated headband, made of elastic or a non-resilient material such as ribbon, with the tiny looped hair-bands attached to each end. The elongated headband is long enough to extend from ear to ear and the tiny looped hair-bands are made of elastic and have substantially the same circumference.

[0016] In another embodiment the elongated headband above has a second elongated headband attached adjacent the first elongated headband. This allows the two adjacent headbands to be spread apart from each other across the head to hold a wider section of hair.

[0017] In another embodiment the elongated headband is a wide brim like member that is shaped like the brim of a visor. The use is the same as the others, however the brim acts as a visor.

[0018] In another embodiment the elongated headband is triangular shaped like that of a bandanna. Two ends of the triangle have the hair-bands attached thereto with the point of the bandanna there-between. In use the hair-bands are attached to the pigtails and the point of the triangle lies between the pigtails, pointing toward the ground (like a bandanna). The triangle can also be rolled up like a traditional rolled bandanna.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0027] Referring to FIG. 1 of the accompanying drawings, there is illustrated a pigtails headband, generally designated by reference numeral 1, embodying the present invention. The Pigtails headband 1 comprises a substantially rigid semi-circle headband 2 with a looped hair-band 3 and 4 attached to each end of the semi-circle headband 2. In use FIG. 2 the semi-circle headband 2 is placed on the user's head and the hair is secured with hair-bands 3 and 4 into pigtails.

[0028] Referring to FIG. 3 of the accompanying drawings, there is illustrated another version of the pigtails headband, generally designated by reference numeral 5, embodying the present invention. The pigtails headband 5 comprises a first elongated headband 6 with a looped resilient hair-band 7 and 8 attached to each end of the elongated headband 6. The use is the same as FIG. 2.

[0029] Referring to FIG. 4 of the accompanying drawings, there is illustrated another version of the pigtails headband, generally designated by reference numeral 9, embodying the present invention. The pigtails headband 9 comprises two headbands 2′ and 10 adjacent to each other. Each headband 2′ and 10 is attached to a looped hair-band 3′ and 4′ at their ends. In use FIG. 4 the headbands 2′ and 10 are spread out across the head to hold a wider portion of the user's hair and each looped hair-band 3′ and 4′ is secured into pigtails.

[0030] Referring to FIG. 5 of the accompanying drawings, there is illustrated another version of the pigtails headband, generally designated by reference numeral 14, embodying the present invention. The pigtails headband 14 comprises a first wide arced headband 15 (visor) with a resilient hair-band 16 and 17 attached to each end of the arced headband 15.

[0031] Referring to FIG. 6 of the accompanying drawings, there is illustrated another version of the pigtails headband, generally designated by reference numeral 19, embodying the present invention. The pigtails headband 19 comprises a first triangle shaped headband 20 (bandanna) with a resilient hair-band 21 and 22 attached to two of the three triangle ends 23 and 24.

[0032] The present invention being thus described, it is obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. For instance, the headbands and hair-bands can be any type of headband or hair-band known in the art; anyway to attach the hair-bands to the headband ends will work including hooks that make the hair-bands removably connected (to replace worn hair-bands or to add different colors). Further, any way to use the present invention obvious in the art should apply. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the invention, and all such variations as would be obvious to those skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the claims,

Claims

1. A method of securing head hair of a human being into pigtails comprising:

selecting a pigtails headband comprising:

a headband with hair-bands attached to each end;

placing said headband on the head;

securing said hair-bands to a section of hair from each side of the head;

whereby said hair sections are neatly secured into pigtails and said pigtails headband is easily removable and reusable.

3. The pigtails headband of claim 1 wherein said headband is a substantially rigid semi-circle headband.

4. The pigtails headband of claim 1 wherein said hair-bands are resilient loops.

5. The pigtails headband of claim 4 wherein said hair-bands have two beads attached thereto; whereby each said hair-band can be wrapped around each hair section and said beads can be overlapped to secure.

6. A pigtails headband for securing head hair of a human being into pigtails comprising:

a headband; said headband comprising a length of elongated material extending across the top of the head of a human being from ear to ear; and, each end of said headband has a hair-band attached by attaching means to it;

whereby said headband can be placed on top of the user's head, with the headband extending from ear to ear, and each said hair-band can be secured to a section of hair at both sides of the head, into pigtails.

7. The pigtails headband of claim 6 wherein said headband is a substantially rigid semi-circle headband.

8. The pigtails headband of claim 6 wherein said attaching means at each end of said semi-circle headband is a hook for removably connecting each said hair-band to said semi-circle headband ends.

9. The pigtails headband of claim 6 wherein each said hair-band is a resilient looped hair-band.

10. The pigtails headband of claim 6 wherein a second headband is attached to said hair-bands at said second headband end; whereby said second headband can lay adjacent to said first headband.

11. The pigtails headband of claim 6 wherein said hair-band is a length of resilient material.

12. The pigtails headband of claim 6 wherein a second length of resilient material is attached to both said ends to said hair-bands.

13. The pigtails headband of claim 6 wherein said length of material is a ribbon.

14. The pigtails headband of claim 6 wherein said length of material is triangle shaped with the hair-bands attached to two corners.

15. The pigtails headband of claim 6 wherein said resilient looped hair-bands are substantially the same circumference.

16. The pigtails headband of claim 9 wherein each said resilient looped hair-band has two beads attached thereto; whereby each said resilient looped hair-band can be wrapped around each hair section and said beads can be overlapped to secure.

17. The pigtails headband of claim 6 wherein each said hair-band is a ribbon; whereby each said ribbon can be tied around the pigtails to secure.

18. The pigtails headband of claim 6 wherein a plurality of hair-bands are attached to each said end of said headband; whereby the user can attach a plurality of hair sections to each said headband end.

19. A pigtails headband for securing head hair of a human being into pigtails comprising:

a headband; said headband comprising a substantially rigid semi-circle headband; each end of said headband has a hair-band attached by attaching means thereto;

whereby said headband can be placed on top of the user's head and each said hair-band can be secured to a section of hair at both sides of the head, into pigtails.

20. The pigtails headband of claim 19 wherein said attaching means at each end of said semi-circle headband is a hook for removably connecting each said hair-band to said semi-circle headband ends.

21. The pigtails headband of claim 19 wherein a plurality of hair-bands are attached to each said end of said semi-circle headband; whereby the user can attach a plurality of hair sections to each said headband ends.

22. The pigtails headband of claim 19 wherein a second semi-circle headband is attached to said hair-bands at said second semi-circle headband ends; whereby said second semi-circle headband can lay adjacent to said first semi-circle headband.

23. The pigtails headband of claim 19 wherein each said hair-band is a resilient looped hair-band.

24. The pigtails headband of claim 23 wherein each said resilient looped hair-band has two beads attached thereto; whereby each said resilient looped hair-band can be wrapped around each hair section and said beads can be overlapped to secure.

25. The pigtails headband of claim 19 wherein each said hair-band is a ribbon; whereby each said ribbon can be tied around the pigtails to secure.
