DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0016] A description will be given below of an embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

[0017] In this case, in this description, the term “front” means the front side of the paper face in FIG. 1, the term “rear” means the back side, the term “left” means the left side in FIG. 1 and the term “right” means the right side in FIG. 1.

[0018] A spring manufacturing machine 1 has a machine casing 2 including a vertical front wall 3, a wire working space 5 formed in front of the front wall 3 in the machine casing 2, a final wire guide 7 including a wire passage (not shown) which passes a wire fed out toward the wire working space 5 therethrough and is elongate in the back and forth direction, and detachably provided in a rotation body 6 which is provided in the front wall 3 so as to freely rotate around the wire passage, at least a pair of wire feeding rollers (not shown) rotatably provided in the machine casing 2 in the reverse side to the wire working space 5 (the rear side of the front wall 3) in the final wire guide 7, and feeding out the wire while nipping the wire, and a desired number of tool mounting slides (not shown) provided in the front wall 3 so as to freely move forward and backward with respect to the wire working space 5, and to which a tool (not shown) is mounted. In this case, the structure mentioned above is a well-known structure.

[0019] A right and left moving table 9 is provided in front of the vertical front wall 3 so as to freely move right and left in accordance with a structure described in detail below. A pair of upper and lower guide rails 10 are provided in a forward protruding portion 3a of the front wall 3 so that the longitudinal direction thereof is positioned in the right and left direction, and the structure is made such that the right and left moving table 9 moves right and left along the these guide rails 10. A nut member 13 is provided in the right and left moving table 9, and a ball screw 12, which is rotated by a reversibly rotatable motor 11 and has the axis set parallel to the guide rails 10, is fitted to the nut member 13 by screwing. In accordance with the structure mentioned above, the right and left moving table 9 can be moved right and left at a moving distance L by forward and backward rotating of the ball screw 12. In this case, the right and left moving table 9 may be structured such as to move to the left from the position shown in FIG. 1 at a predetermined distance (for example, the distance L), or the right and left moving table 9 maybe structured such as to move to both the right and the left from the position shown in FIG. 1 at a predetermined distance.

[0020] A pair of right and left guide rails 16, the longitudinal direction of which is positioned in the back and forth direction is provided in the right and left moving table 9, and a back and forth moving table 17 is provided in the guide rail 16 so as to freely move back and forth. The back and forth moving table 17 is structured such as to be moved back and forth by the same operating apparatus 18 as the apparatus for right and left moving the right and left moving table 9.

[0021] An elevating shaft 20 having the axis in the up and down direction is provided in the back and forth moving table 17 so as to freely move up and down, and a tool mounting device 21 is provided in this elevating shaft 20 so as to freely swing horizontally. In this case, the tool mounting device 21 is structured such that the tool mounting device 21 does not move up and down with respect to the elevating shaft 20.

[0022] A tool 22 is detachably mounted to a rear portion of the tool mounting device 21 so as to be directed to the side of the final wire guide 7 (the rear side).

[0023] The elevating shaft 20 is structured such as to be moved up and down by an elevation driving apparatus 23. The elevation driving apparatus 23 has a ball screw 24 which is provided in the lower end of the elevating shaft 20 and has the axis in the up and down direction, a nut member 25 to which the ball screw 24 is fitted by screwing and which is fixed to the right and left moving table 9, a universal joint 26 connected to the lower end of the ball screw 24, an extensible shaft 27 connected to the universal joint 26, a universal joint 28 connected to the lower end of this extensible shaft 27, and a reversibly rotatable motor 29 having a rotation shaft 30 fixed to the universal joint 28 and having a main body fixed to the right and left moving table 9. The extensible shaft 27 is constituted by two shaft members which are nested by a spline structure so that the shaft members do not relatively rotate. In accordance with the structure mentioned above, the elevating shaft 20 (the tool mounting device 21) can be moved up and down by forward and backward rotating of the ball screw 24.

[0024] The tool mounting device 21 is structured such as to be horizontally swung by a swing driving apparatus 33. The swing driving apparatus 33 has a reversibly rotatable motor 34 having a main body fixed to the back and forth moving table 17, a crank shaft 36 fixed to a rotation shaft 35 and having the axis in the up and down direction, and an elongated hole 38, to which a crank pin 37 of the crank shaft 36 is fitted with no play in the right and left direction and which is long in the back and forth direction (not to prevent the crank pin 37 from moving back and forth) and formed in the front portion before the elevating shaft 20 in the tool mounting device 21. In accordance with this structure, it is possible to horizontally swing the tool mounting device 21 by changing the position of the crank pin 37, whereby it is possible to finally move the tool 22 right and left. In this case, the crank pin 37 has a vertical length allowing the tool mounting device 21 to move up and down.
