Novelty shipping container

Abstract

A novelty shipping container hollow inside to hold consumer contents. The container snaps apart to allow filling of the inside with gifts, candy, letters or other items. The container then snaps together securing the contents for shipment. A mailing label is attached to a designated area on the container. The container may then be shipped via regular U.S. postal carriers without a box or further packaging. The container may be shaped as an animal such as an owl or other objects such as a vase with flowers.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Packages sent to children away from home, for example at summer camp, often contain creative activities or fun food to remind the youngster of home. Sometimes the exterior of the package is even decorated somewhat perhaps by a sibling. The excitement at the moment a child of receives a package is enhanced by the exterior decorations. This is particularly true when in the presence of ones peers.

Invitations to parties, events or for example reunions are often crafted to artistically reflect the nature of the gathering. Such creative greetings are often delivered in quite plain envelopes or packages. Sometimes, as with packages to children, creative decorations on the exterior of the envelope significantly enhance excitement at the receipt.

Many times such aforementioned exterior decorations are kept to a minimum in the fear that the decorating will confuse postal machines or make the article otherwise undeliverable. Even in the case of package decorations most people are limited to decorating a paper and tape wrapped package or plain envelope.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention consists of a plastic mailing or shipping container hollow inside to hold consumer contents. The plastic container snaps apart to allow filling of the inside with gifts, candy, letters or other items. The container then snaps together securing the contents for shipment. An adhesive strip may be used to further secure the package for shipment. A provided mailing label is attached to a designated area on the container. The container may then be shipped via regular U.S. postal carriers without a box or further packaging. The design of the current invention is an Owl figure, however any artistic design is possible. Flowers, other animals, dimensional words, etc are some of the possibilities.

DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

In a preferred form of the invention a hollow plastic container 1 snaps apart into two sections 2, 3. The snapping mechanism 4 is such that the container may be snapped apart, filled and then snapped together for shipment. The container is supplied to the consumer with a mailing label, 5 and a re-enforcing adhesive strap for shipping.

Claims

1. A shipping container comprising:

Two parts which may be disconnected and re-connected for the purpose of filling the container.

An exterior artistic design intended to evoke a response in the receiver at the moment of reception.

2. A shipping container as in claim 1 manufactured of plastic and supplied with a mailing label for the end user.

3. A shipping container as in claimed in 2 designed as an Owl.
