Golf club head
An improved golf club head includes a body, a balance weight and an upper lid. The body has a hitting surface and a recess formed on an upper side of the rear end thereof. The balance weight is located in the recess. The upper lid is made from a composite material or fibers and has a curvature matching the upper side of the golf club head to anchor the balance weight in an integrated manner. Thus the weight of the upper side of golf club head is reduced. The upper lid makes the club head more appealing and can generate a crispy sound when hitting golf ball. A higher trajectory track may be generated when the golf ball is hit. And more versatile appearances may be formed.
The present invention relates to an improved golf club head and particularly to a golf club head that has a reduced weight on the upper side, forms a higher trajectory track for the hitting golf ball, is easier to strike, looks more appealing and provides more versatile appearances, and generates a crispy sound when the golf ball is hit.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONWith increasingly rising of people's living standard, golf population also grows continuously. Playing golf has to use various types and numbers of golf club heads. The golf ball trajectory track is a big concern for golfers. Many golf club heads are made in an integrated manner. Such types of heads often are heavier and move the gravity center forwards and make swinging of golf club more difficult. These days some golf club heads are made with a hitting panel of a smaller weight. But these types of heads have difficulty to lower the gravity center. As a result, striking stability is difficult to improve. To meet the requirement of making the gravity center of the golf club head lower and backward, a balance weight has to be added on the bottom plate. Such an approach makes the head heavier and swinging of the golf club more difficult. In the golf game, a good golf club and club head is important and they could determine win or loss. It has to match the swinging posture and habit of the user and to be adjusted to get the optimum gravity center location so that swinging of the golf club is smooth and hitting the sweet spot is easier. Due to every person has a different swinging posture and habit, at present the gravity center of the club head is mostly located in the center. Hence a small deviation of swinging could result in loss of the standard hitting point and miss the sweet spot. To match different swinging postures and habits, reducing the weight of the club head is necessary. It is usually accomplished by adding a balance weight on the hitting side to adjust the gravity center. Such a structure is difficult to fabricate. Once the location of the gravity center is set, it cannot be changed. To change the location of the gravity center, users have to buy a new club head. It is costly and not very practical. In short, the present club heads generally are difficult to reduce the weight and results difficulty in swinging of the golf club. The appearance of the club head is plain and not versatile. It also cannot generate a crisp sound when the golf ball is hit.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn view of the aforesaid disadvantages, the present invention aims to provide an improved golf club head.
The primary object of the invention is to reduce the weight of upper side of the club head and generate a crisp sound when the golf ball is hit. It mainly has a balance weight disposed in a matching recess formed on an upper side of the club head. An upper lid made from a composite material or fibers with a curvature matching of the upper side of the club head is bonded thereon in an integrated manner to anchor the balance weight.
The club head according to the invention includes a body, a balance weight and an upper lid. The body is integrally made from titanium by forging. It has a hitting surface on the front side and a recess formed on the upper side of a rear end thereof. The balance weight is located in the recess and covered by the upper lid.
The balance weight mates the recess and has apertures formed thereon to reduce the weight of the club head (or may be added to the weight of other areas to adjust the gravity center location).
The upper lid is made from a composite material or fibers with a curvature matching the upper side of the club head.
The foregoing, as well as additional objects, features and advantages of the invention will be more readily apparent from the following detailed description, which proceeds with reference to the accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

-
- a body 1 made from titanium by forging in an integrated manner. It has a neck 10 on a lateral side with an insert hole 100 to couple with a shaft 4. The body 1 has a hitting face 11 on the front side and a recess 13 formed on an upper side 12 at the rear end. The recess 13 holds a balance weight 2 which is 2b and 2c have respectively apertures 20b of the same size or apertures 21c of different sizes formed thereon.

By means of the constructions set forth above, the invention can provide the following advantages:
-
- 1. A balance weight with apertures or grooves of different shapes may be mounted on the upper side of the club head, and covered by an upper lid to reduce the weight of the upper side of the club head. It can be adapted to different swinging postures and habits of golfers. And it can generate a crisp sound when hitting gold ball.
- 2. The invention has a wide range of applicability and can a plate of an uniform thickness. The balance weight 2 has a shape mating the recess 13 and has apertures 20 formed thereon. There is an upper lid 3 covering the balance weight 2 from above. The upper lid 3 is made from a composite material or fibers. The upper lid 3 has an upper surface 30 which forms a curvature matching the upper side 12 of the body 1 and has a shape mating the recess 13. The upper lid 2 is located above the balance weight 2 and compressed to become integrated therewith.
