Abstract

The instant invention relates to a key storing pocket for an athletic shoe, and a method using thereof. The key storing pocket for an athletic shoe includes a sleeve, which has a first and second opening. The sleeve is adapted to embrace the grip portion of a key, and it is affixed to the heel portion of said shoe. The sleeve, further, includes the means for closing the first opening, which is adapted to receive said key. Furthermore, the second opening is adapted to receive the elongated active portion of said key, and it permits the elongated active portion to protrude from the sleeve.

Description

FIELD OF INVENTION

The instant invention relates to a key storing pocket for an athletic shoe.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Outdoor athletic activities such as jogging, hiking and the like have become an integral component of our metropolitan life style. However, the participants in such activities have often encountered the problem of securing their valuable items such as keys.

Many suggestions have been made in the past to carry such articles on a participant's shoe. However, neither of these suggestions seems to completely solve the problem because of their lack of ecstatic, or functionality.

Therefore, there is need for an improved key storing pocket for a shoe, which securely stores a key while permitting the shoe to maintain its ecstatic.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The instant invention relates to a key storing pocket for an athletic shoe. The key storing pocket for an athletic shoe includes a sleeve, which has a first and a second opening. The sleeve is adapted to embrace the grip portion of a key, and it is affixed to the heel portion of said shoe. The sleeve, further, includes the means for closing the first opening, which is adapted to receive said key. Furthermore, the second opening is adapted to receive the elongated active portion of said key, and it permits the elongated active portion of the key to protrude from the sleeve.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to the drawings wherein like numerals indicate like elements, there is shown in, FIG. 1, a first preferred embodiment of a key storing shoe pocket 15 affixed to the heel portion 20 of shoe 10. Key storing shoe pocket 15 includes a sleeve 16.

Sleeve 16 includes a first opening 18 and a second opening 20. Sleeve 16 is adapted to receive a key 11, and to securely embrace the grip portion of said key 11. Sleeve 16 can be made of any material; preferably, sleeve 16 is made of stretchy and durable material. Examples of stretchy and durable materials include, but are not limited to, nylon, neoprene, spandex, polyester, rubber, leather, nylon mesh, polyester mesh, and combinations thereof. Sleeve 16 may be any shape; preferably, sleeve 16 is adapted to embrace the grip portion of a key. Sleeve 16 may have a shape selected from the group consisting of circles, semi-circles, triangles, squares, and combinations thereof.

Sleeve 16 may be affixed to a heel portion 22 of a shoe 10, which includes a shoe upper 12 and a sole 14. Preferably, sleeve 16 is affixed to said heel portion 22 permanently; however, sleeve 16 may be affixed to said heel portion 22 via detachable means. Sleeve 16 may be affixed to heel portion 22 by stitching 17, gluing, or combinations thereof.

First opening 18 may be any size or shape; preferably, first opening 18 is adapted to receive a key 11.

Second opening 20 may be any size or shape, preferably, opening 20 is adapted to receive the elongated active portion of a key 11; thus, allowing the elongated active portion of key 11 to protrude from the sleeve 16, while sleeve 16 is securely embracing the grip portion of key 11. Second opening 20 is important to instant invention because it facilitates the removal of key 11 from the key storing shoe pocket 15. Furthermore, the second opening 20 permits one to easily inspect as to the status of key 11.

Preferably, sleeve 16 may further have the means for closing first opening 18. Referring to FIGS. 1, and 2, means for closing first opening 18 includes, but is not limited to, Velcro 24, zippers 26, and combinations thereof.

Preferably, key storing shoe pocket 15 may, further, include a closure flap. Closure flap may include a pull-tab. Closure flap may be any shape or any size, preferably, closure flap is adapted to cover first opening 18. Closure flap may be a shape selected from the group consisting of circles, semi-circles, triangles, squares, and combinations thereof. Closure flap may be made of any material. Preferably closure flap is made from a material selected from the group consisting of nylon, neoprene, spandex, polyester, rubber, leather, nylon mesh, polyester mesh, and combinations thereof.

Pull-tab may be any shape; preferably, pull-tab is a hoop. Pull-tab may be made of any material. Preferably pull-tab is made from a material selected from the group consisting of nylon, neoprene, spandex, polyester, rubber, leather, nylon mesh, polyester mesh, and combinations thereof.

In operation, to store key 11 in shoe pocket 15, key 11 is inserted into sleeve 16 via first opening 18. The elongated active portion of the key 11 is forced to protrude from sleeve 16 via second opening 20. First opening 18 is closed via Velcro 24, and the grip portion of key 11 is securely embraced by sleeve 16.

In operation, to remove key 11 from shoe pocket 15, first opening is opened via Velcro 24, and the elongated active portion of key 11 is pushed upward to force key 11 out of sleeve 16 via first opening 18.

The present invention may be embodied in other forms without departing from the spirit and the essential attributes thereof, and, accordingly, reference should be made to the appended claims, rather than to the foregoing specification, as indicated the scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A key storing pocket for an athletic shoe comprising:

a sleeve having a first opening and a second opening, said sleeve being adapted to embrace a grip portion of a key and being affixed to a heel portion of said shoe, said sleeve further having means for closing said first opening;

said first opening being adapted to receive said key;

said second opening being adapted to receive an elongated active portion of said key, and permitting said elongated active portion to protrude from said sleeve.

2. The key storing pocket according to claim 1, wherein said sleeve being made from a material selected from the group consisting of nylon, neoprene, spandex, polyester, rubber, leather and combinations thereof.

3. The key storing pocket according to claim 1, wherein said sleeve being made from a material selected from the group consisting of nylon mesh, polyester mesh, and combinations thereof.

4. The key storing pocket according to claim 1, wherein said sleeve having a shape selected from the group consisting of a circle, semi-circle, triangle, square, and combinations thereof.

5. The key storing pocket according to claim 1, wherein said sleeve being affixed to said heel portion of said shoe permanently.

6. The key storing pocket according to claim 5, wherein said sleeve being affixed to said heel portion of said shoe by stitching, gluing, and combinations thereof.

7. The key storing pocket according to claim 1, wherein said sleeve being affixed to said heel portion of said shoe via detachable means.

8. The key storing pocket according to claim 1, wherein said means for closing said first opening include Velcro, Zippers, and combination thereof.

9. The key storing pocket according to claim 1, wherein said pocket further including a closure flap covering said first opening.

10. The key storing pocket according to claim 9, wherein closure flap being made from a material selected from the group consisting of nylon, neoprene, spandex, polyester, rubber, leather and combinations thereof.

11. The key storing pocket according to claim 9, wherein closure flap being made from a material selected from the group consisting of nylon mesh, polyester mesh, and combinations thereof.

12. The key storing pocket according to claim 9, wherein said closure flap further including a pull-tab.

13. The key storing pocket according to claim 12, wherein said pull-tab being made from a material selected from the group consisting of nylon, neoprene, spandex, polyester, rubber, leather and combinations thereof.

14. The key storing pocket according to claim 12, wherein said pull-tab being made from a material selected from the group consisting of nylon mesh, polyester mesh, and combinations thereof.

15. The key storing pocket according to claim 12, wherein said sleeve, said closure flap, said pull-tab being made from same materials.
