Splash guard for toilet seat
A splash guard used in conjunction with a toilet having a toilet bowl and a toilet seat comprises a shielding vessel, a handle on a far end and a flow guide on a near end opposite thereto. The flow guide has two lateral guiding walls. During use, a user sitting on the toilet seat holds the splash guard vertically at the handle thereof. The shielding vessel guards against splashed urine, which, guided by the flow guide, flows into the toilet bowl. Thus old, handicapped or sick persons or persons who have no firm stand or are being rehabilitated are enabled to use a toilet with protection against splashing of urine.
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a splash guard for a toilet seat, particularly to a splash guard for a toilet seat, which is easy to hold and effectively prevents accidental splashing during relieving and is therefore suitable for old, handicapped and sick persons as well as persons who have difficulties to stand firmly and thus need to use a toilet with a seat for relieving themselves.
2. Description of Related Art
Old, handicapped and sick persons often are not able to relieve themselves while standing up and thus need to use a toilet with a seat for relieving themselves. A regular toilet seat, however, is formed like a ring without any additional shield. So toileting accidents readily occur in which urine is splashed on the toilet seat or beyond, which is unhygienic. In particular, accidents like these happen to men using toilet seats.
As shown in
As shown on
These assemblies however, have the following shortcomings:
- 1. The splash guard is fixed to the toilet seat and is hard to clean.
- 2. The splash guard is mounted at a fixed angle and is easily touched by a user when standing up, compromising safety of use.
- 3. Both splash guards are expensive to manufacture.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a splash guard for a toilet seat which is easy to clean or disposable, so not required to be cleaned, and is safe to use.
The present invention can be more fully understood by reference to the following description and accompanying drawings.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT As shown in
The shielding vessel 10 is a body with a depression for guarding against splashing of urine and collecting splashed urine, having a bottom with a reinforcing rib 11. The bottom of the shielding vessel 10 is inclined at a predetermined angle, allowing liquid to flow towards the flow guide 30.
The handle 20 is attached to a far end of the shielding vessel 10, having a groove 21 for easier gripping and for reinforcing.
The flow guide 30 is placed on a near end of the shielding vessel 10, opposite to the far end thereof. A step 31 is built into the flow guide 30, with two lateral guiding walls 32 above the step 31 guiding liquid to a tip at the near end of the shielding vessel 10 to be poured into the toilet bowl.
