Moon table pole for holding multiple rolls of toilet paper

The invention relates to a device for supporting multiple rolls of material, such as toilet paper, on a pole perpendicular to a wall. The invention consists of a mounting device and one or more poles that mate with the mounting device. The pole can be made from one or more pieces to adjust the length of the pole for different length materials or the number of rolls that can be placed on the pole.

Description

The invention relates to a device for supporting multiple rolls of material, such as toilet paper, on a pole perpendicular to a wall. The invention consists of a mounting device and one or more poles that mate with the mounting device. The pole can be made from one or more pieces to adjust the length of the pole for different length materials or the number of rolls that can be placed on the pole.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART

In most cases, toilet paper holders and, for that matter, comparable holders for any purpose support a single or two rolls of material. Most designs also take some time and effort to mount each roll of material onto or off of the device. Pole based designs do not contain a mechanism to prevent the roll of toilet paper from inadvertently falling off the pole. Pole based designs do not allow for storage of the 3 or 4 rolls of spare toilet paper. The object of this invention is to provide a place to hold the spare toilet paper, 3 or 4 rolls, typically on a pole mounted high underneath the sink. This frees up the floor space under the spare rolls of toilet paper. It also allows quick, easy access to a fresh roll of toilet paper as needed.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The toilet paper holder comprises at least two pieces, a wall mounting device and a pole. The wall mounting device contains holes for fastening it to a wall. The wall mounting device also has a receptacle for mounting the pole. The pole can be made from one or more sections that fasten to each other. The outer most section of the pole contains a mechanism for preventing the rolls of toilet paper from inadvertently falling off.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

As shown in FIG. 3 the invention comprises a mounting device 10, a pole 30, and any number of pole extensions 20.

The mounting device 10 includes one or more holes 12 for mounting the invention to a wall. As shown in FIG. 1, the mounting device includes a cylindrical cavity 14 with NPT female threads for mating with the pole 30 or pole extension 20.

The pole extension 20 has male NPT threads 22 for mating with the mounting device or other pole extensions. Female NPT threads 24 are for mating with additional pole extensions or the pole 30. This method allows the final mounted length of the pole to be adjustable for the intended application.

The pole 30 has male NPV threads 32 for mating with the mounting device or a pole extension 20. On the end of the pole 30 there is a mechanism 34 for preventing the rolls of toilet paper from inadvertently falling off the end of the pole. In this embodiment there is a gentle slope from the diameter of the pole to the diameter of the toilet paper roll retention mechanism 34 and the end of the pole is round to allow easy mounting and removal of a roll of toilet paper.

There are many different constructions which can be used to achieve the desired objectives as described above. FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 illustrate the details of an embodiment of the invention in which the mounting device 10, the pole 30, and pole extension 20 have a distinctive and ornamental shape. Obviously, the ornamental aspects of the structural components of the invention form no part of the invention.

Although the invention is described for use in supporting rolls of toilet paper, the invention is not so restricted and would have utility in any situation where a roll of material is to be supported on a pole mounted perpendicular to a wall.

Claims

1. For use in supporting multiple rolls of material from a single pole mounted perpendicular to the wall.

2. A segmented pole that allows the device to be used inside of cabinets of varying depths.

3. A device on the end of the pole to prevent the roll(s) of material from inadvertently falling off the pole.
