CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims benefit under 35 U.S.C. § 119 from Korean Patent Application No. 2004-18966, filed on Jul. 05, 2004, the entire content of which is incorporated herein by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a case for safekeeping of a makeup brush, and more particularly, to a case for safekeeping of a makeup brush which is able safekeep in a single case various kinds of makeup brushes used for women's makeup, makes it convenient to check if it is present or lost, and enables to keep the case in a standing position stably during the use of a makeup brush.

2. Description of the Related Art

Generally, there are a large variety of makeup brushes used for women to put on makeup, including a brush for applying foundation or powder to one's face for base makeup or solid makeup, a mascara brush for applying mascara to ones' eyelashes, a brush for applying a lipstick to one's lips, and so on.

The aforementioned makeup brushes are generally housed in their corresponding cosmetic case. In order for women to apply makeup to their face, eyelashes and lips, they should take out a brush housed in the corresponding case by cosmetic items, and then get cosmetic content on the brush and apply it to their face.

To put on makeup to the face in this way, as the case now stands, the user has to take out one of those brushes housed by cosmetic items to use it, and then put and keep it again by cosmetic items after use.

As set forth above, it is troublesome to frequently get a makeup brush in and out of the case in the use of a necessary makeup brush, the contents put on the makeup brush may contaminate the case because the makeup brush in use has to be stood on the cosmetic case for a while so as to use another makeup brush, and further there is a possibility of loss.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been proposed to solve the aforementioned problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a case for safekeeping of a makeup brush which can be used safely in a standing position by storing a wide variety of makeup brushes in a single safekeeping case, and allows to check if it is present or lost and check for a safekeeping status at a glance.

To achieve the above object of the present invention, there is provided a case for safekeeping of a makeup brush, comprising: a transparent window opening and closing member for supporting a case body from both sides; and a plurality of stored makeup brushes intercepted to be prevented from being easily released from the case body.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

A preferred embodiment of the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a makeup brush when stored according to the present invention. FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view according to the present invention. FIG. 4 is a sectional view taken along line ‘A-A’ of FIG. 2. FIG. 5 is a sectional view taken along line ‘B-B’ of FIG. 2. FIG. 6 is a plane view of a makeup brush fixture according to the present invention.

As shown in FIGS. 1 to 6, the case for safekeeping of a makeup case comprises: a rectangular case body 3 having an opening 1 formed on the top part and first and second stopping grooves 2 and 2a formed on the upper ends of both side walls; a pair of opening and closing members 6 hingeably coupled to both sides of the body 3 to vertically rotate symmetrical to each other, and having protuberances 5 formed at both sides of an inner wall 4 adjacent to hinged portions so as to be coupled to the first and second stopping grooves 2 and 2a, each of the opening and closing members 6 having a coupling protuberance 6b and a fixed coupling 6a formed on the upper ends thereof; and a makeup brush fixture 10 having a plurality of brush handle insertion slots 8 and a plurality of brush handle interceptors 9 formed respectively at the upper part and lower part thereof so as to be inserted into the opening 1 of the body 3 and store a makeup brush 7.

Intercepting long protuberances 9a are formed facing each other on the inner peripheries of the brush handle interceptors 9.

Rounds 11 are formed on the outer sides of the upper ends of the opening and closing members 6 so that the case body can be kept in a standing position more stably when the opening and closing members are rotated.

Front surfaces or front and rear surfaces of the opening and closing members 6 are made of a transparent body so as to be able to check for a safekeeping status of the makeup brush 7 housed in the case body 3 or check if it is lost or not.

In the case for safekeeping of a makeup brush as set forth above, when the make brush 7 is inserted into the brush handle insertion slot 8 of the makeup brush fixture 10, the pair of intercepting long protuberances 9a formed on the inner periphery of the brush handle interceptor 9 intercepts and fixes the brush handle.

Meanwhile, the fixing couplings 6a of the pair of opening and closing members 6, hingeably coupled to both sides of the case body 3 in order to safekeep the makeup brush housed in the body, are rotated upward so as to be coupled to the coupling protuberances 6b formed on the opening and closing member at the opposite side, the protuberances 5 of the opening and closing member 6 are released from the second stopping grooves 2 of the case body 3 and slid to be coupled to the first stopping grooves 2a, and at the same time the upper part of the case body 3 is closed. In this state, the makeup brush 7 is safely kept in the case.

If it is desired to use the makeup brush to put on makeup, with the case body 3 closed by the coupling of the opening and closing members 6, a given force is applied to the upper end so that the fixed couplings 6a are released from the coupling protuberances 6b, and then the opening and closing members 6 each are rotated in a downward direction upon the hinged portions as the axis, whereby the round portions 11 are positioned on the same line as the lower end of the case body 3.

At this time, the protuberances 5 of the opening and closing member 6 are slid as being released from the first stopping grooves 2 of the case body 3, and then coupled and fixed to the second stopping grooves 2a. By this, the case body 3 can continuously maintain a safe standing position.

The foregoing embodiment and advantages are merely exemplary and are not to be construed as limiting the present invention. The present teaching can be readily applied to other types of apparatuses. Also, the description of the embodiments of the present invention is intended to be illustrative, and not to limit the scope of the claims, and many alternatives, modifications, and variations will be apparent to those skilled in the art.

As described above, the present invention has no possibility of loss because the case body is not easily released even if collapsed by inserting a variety of makeup brushes into the brush handle fixture and intercepting the brush handles by means of the brush handle interceptors, makes it possible to use the makeup brush in a safe standing posture because the opening and closing members support the makeup brush from both sides of the case body, offers convenient safekeeping and carrying functions by storing a plurality of makeup brushes in a single safekeeping case whose opening and closing members are made of a transparent body, and allows to check if the makeup brush is present or lost and check for a safekeeping status at a glance.
