Wall "Flush Mount" quilt rack

The Wall “Flush Mount” Quilt Rack is utilized to hang and display quilts on flat wall surfaces. Designed and developed so the hanging quilt uses the wall surface to support and frame the displayed quilt thus producing a more pleasing and appealing display while protecting the quilt from drooping or sagging. While other quilt racks display quilts against the wall they rely on some sort of clipping, or pinching, device to hold the fabric thus causing droops, sages or distortion to the fabric material. The Wall “Flush Mount” Quilt Rack requires a four (4) inch fabric pocket on the back of the quilt, and that, along with the rack, produces a uniform support over the entire length of the quilt eliminating wrinkles, droops, sags or uneven portions on the fabric surface.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The Wall “Flush Mount” Quilt Rack was developed and designed to display quilts on flat wall surfaces. While most other quilt racks position quilts away from the wall, the Wall “Flush Mount” Quilt Rack uses the wall surface to support the quilt. The projection away from the wall is less than one inch (1″) and allows the quilt to lie flat against the wall. The wall actually frames the quilt to produce a more pleasing and appealing display. By using the wall as support, the quilt is less likely to droop, sag or winkle which can become a problem after long periods of hanging.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1—(front view)—quilt hanging rack as positioned on the wall with quilt.

FIG. 2—(top view) quilt hanging rack and wall mounting pegs before being attached to the wall.

FIG. 3—(side view) wall mounting peg attached to the wall and the quilt hanging rack before being placed on the peg (without the quilt).

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The Wall “Flush Mount” Quilt Rack was developed and designed to display quilts on flat wall surfaces. It is comprised of one flat elongated piece, having rounded edges with two mounting holes drilled into each rounded end. It is attached to the wall with two wall mounting pegs. Most other quilt racks hold quilts away from the wall; the Wall “Flush Mount” Quilt Rack uses the wall surface as a support for the displayed quilt.

The Wall “Flush Mount” Quilt Rack requires a four (4) inch fabric pocket sewn on the back of the quilt. The hanging rack is then inserted into the pocket and then mounted onto the wall pegs. This eliminates the need for clipping, or pinching, the fabric which may cause the fabric to wrinkle or appear to be uneven.

The projection away from the wall is less than one inch (1″) and allows the quilt to lie flat against the wall. The wall actually frames the quilt to produce a more pleasing and appealing display. By using both the wall surface as support, and the fabric pocket, the quilt is less likely to droop or sag which can become a problem after long periods of hanging.
