Abstract

An article of manufacture for keeping a persons body cool. This cap has ribs to hold ice, this ice will melt with the athletes body temperature letting cool water run down onto their body, the stretchable material holds the ice snug in place. Ribs run front to back and sewn into a side by side pattern. The fabric will let the melting ice water through the top, side, bottom and back. This cap will have a snap at the end of each individual rib to hold the ice in each row. Cap will be made of a breathable material like cloth, and visor will catch some of the water from the melting ice. This will let an athlete wring it out over their body to cool themself down even more.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates generally to the field of athletes, and more particularly to an article of manufacture for keeping a persons body cool.

When I would run alot of races in upstate N.Y. and on the days that I trained I would put ice under my cap and let it run down on me to keep me cool on hot days.

Even on ten mile runs I would still have ice under my hat when I got back from my work out.

There are no current ways to keep an athlete cool. They can grab a bottle of water off a table in a race and put it on them self. This would slow their race time down. They could carry a water bottle with them and that hard to run with.

No caps have ice and the people wear regular cap are holding the heat in. There are no caps for athletes that will cool them down but this one.

This invention relates generally to athletes. This apparatus is to be worn on the head. It is made of a breathable material. Two layers of the material are placed on top of each other and sewn into rows evenly spaced. Then a visor is attached on the ends of one end of the ribs and seals them permanently. On the other end of the ribs each one will open and close. Placing an adjustable strap on the back will allow it to fit any size head. After the cap fits you then place ice in between each layer making a rib. With each rib running front to back most of the water will fall on the persons back and in the front the absorbing visor will catch it. As the cool water drips on to the athlete it cools their body. This will make them feel better when working out or in a race and may give them a faster time.

Everytime a person wants to work out they just put ice from their freezer into each rib and close it.

An apparatus for cooling down athletes: a cap with ribs to hold ice, closing ribs to hold ice over someones head, the ice will melt cooling the person wearing this cap. Any amount of ice can be used.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the invention is to provide a lower body temperature.

Another object of the invention is to provide people with a more comfortable way to work outside in the heat.

Another object of the invention is to provide athletes a tool to be able to workout and keep cool on hot days.

A further object of the invention is this cap holds ice from ordinary ice trays so anyone can use it.

Yet another object of the invention is this cap has elastic type ribs to hold the ice in place.

Still yet another object of the invention is this cap is made of a stretchable material.

Another object of the invention is this cap has a sponge like material in the visor keeping water out of the athletes eyes.

Another object of the invention is this is providing an athlete with a cooler body temperature so they can run more comfortably.

Yet another object of the invention is this cap will cut down the chance of heat exhaustion.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

In FIGS. 1, 2, 3 and 4 drawings show embodiments of a cap in accordance with the present invention with cross-section, with ribs in FIGS. 1 and 4 that will hold the ice in place in an expandable material.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

A cap with ice in accordance with the present invention is shown in FIGS. 1, 2, 3 and 4. A stretchable or non-stretchable material shown 1A in FIGS. 1, 2, 3 and 4, forms ribs by attaching them with thread 5A in FIGS. 2 and 4.

These ribs hold ice 4C and 3A of FIGS. 3 and 4 show the ice in place.

At the back end of the cap there is a snap 1C of FIGS. 2 and 3 to seal the ice in, to stop the ice from falling out.

In the back of the cap is an adjustable strap 2C of FIG. 2 to adjust for head size.

In the front of the cap is a visor 1B of FIGS. 1. 2 and 3. This is made of a flexible material on the outside and an absorbable material that's housed on the inside.

Claims

1. An article of manufacture for keeping a persons body cool comprising:

this cap has ribs to hold ice;

this ice will melt with the athletes body temperature letting cool water run down onto their body;

the stretchable material holds the ice snug in place;

ribs run front to back and sewn into a side by side pattern;

the fabric will let the melting ice water through the top, side, bottom and back.

this cap will have a snap at the end of each individual rib to hold the ice in each row;

cap will be made of a breathable material like cloth; and

visor will catch some of the water from the melting ice.

2. The invention of claim 1 wherein said ribs are in rows.

3. The invention of claim 2 further all connecting parts are sewn.

4. The invention of claim 3 further a rib seal at the end.

5. An apparatus for cooling down athletes:

a cap with ribs to hold ice;

closing ribs to hold ice over someones head;

the ice will melt cooling the person wearing this cap.
