Golf hat

Abstract

A golf hat includes a crown a brim extended from two sides and rear of the bottom edge of the crown, and a visor attached to front of the bottom edge of the crown to adjacent to the brim. The front here refers to extend from about eye to eye adjacent the forehead of a wear's head. Moreover, the golf hat further includes a tee mount, a pocket marker holder, an adjustable chinstrap and an adjustable headband. The tee mount is affixed on one side outer surface of the crown to hold a tee. The marker holder is formed on the visor to hold a golf ball marker. The adjustable includes two ends to be mated together or releasable.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to a golf hat, and more particularly, to a golf hat that provides more function to facilitate the golfer when playing golf.

BACKGROUND

Traditionally, golfers usually wear a general hat or cap when playing golf. However, since the general hat or cap is not particularly directed to the golf game, deficiency may exist. For example, baseball or sports caps may not suitable for the golfers because of its style or less comfort, and more casual style visors or more comfortable “fishing” style hats made of softer material may be adopted. Still, the visors may provide less protection from sunlight and the fishing style hats may interfere playing the game. Moreover, there are some special needs for playing golf. For example, some stuff such as tees and golf ball marker and other small things are frequently needed throughout a round of golf. Therefore, conventional hats, caps or visors are not exactly fit to be a golf hat.

Accordingly, U.S. Pat. No. 5,898,946 discloses a golf hat and golf ball marker assembly including a metal strip affixed to the side of a hat. One side of the strip is a depressed well having a magnetized bottom to hold a golf ball marker therein. However, this kind of golf hat only focuses on providing a marker holder. There still exists more improvement to complete.

SUMMARY

Therefore, the preset invention is to provide a golf hat that can provide more function to facilitate the golfer when playing golf.

Accordingly, the golf hat of the present invention includes a crown having a bottom edge, a brim formed on two sides and rear of the bottom edge, and a visor formed on front of the bottom edge and adjacent to the brim, wherein the front is defined to extend from about eye to eye adjacent the forehead of a wear's head.

The crown and the brim are preferably made of anti-ultraviolet rays and softer fabric material. The brim is integrally formed with the crown, and is substantially horizontally extended from the bottom edge and perpendicularly to the crown. The visor is integrally formed with the crown and is substantially horizontally attached to the bottom edge of the crown. The visor is made of a fabric material that is stitched to, or contains a stiffening material.

Furthermore, the golf hat of the present invention further includes a tee mount, a pocket and marker holder. The tee mount is affixed on one side outer surface of the crown to hold a tee. The marker holder is formed on the visor to hold a golf ball marker, and preferably integrally formed inside the visor to be invisible therefrom.

Moreover, the golf hat of the present invention further includes an adjustable chinstrap and an adjustable headband. The adjustable headband includes two ends to be mated together or releasable, such as mating pieces of Velcro® loop and hook material secured to each other.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the same reference numbers are used in the drawings and the description to refer to the same or like parts.

Please refer to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, a golf hat of the present invention is shown. The golf hat 10 includes a crown 10, a brim 12 extended from two sides and rear of the bottom edge 11 of the crown 10, and a visor 14 attached to front of the bottom edge 11 of the crown 10 to adjacent to the brim 12. The front here refers to extend from about eye to eye adjacent the forehead of a wear's head.

The crown 10 and the brim 12 may be constructed using any suitable materials and methods such that the brim 12 is substantially perpendicularly to the crown 10. For example, the crown 10 and the brim 12 are made of an anti-ultraviolet rays and softer fabric material to be folded for convenient storage, while the brim 12 still can provide readily support to extend substantially horizontally away from the crown 10. The visor 14 can be attached or assemble one piece with the crown 10, which may be formed by any appropriate method and using any suitable material or materials, for example a fabric material that is stitched to, or contains, a stiffening material, such as cardboard or plastic. The brim 12 and the visor 14 together provide shade for the wearer's eyes and face.

Furthermore, the golf hat of the present invention further includes a tee mount 20, a pocket 22 and a ball marker holder 24 to facilitate a golfer's playing ball. The tee mount 20 and the pocket 22 are affixed to one side outer surface of the crown 10. In the present embodiment, the tee mount 20 includes two holding slots with each to allocate a tee. The pocket 22 is preferably able to be closed to provide the golfer to put some small stuff and ball mark repairing tool. The ball marker holder 24 made of magnetic material to hold a metal marker is located on and is preferably fixed inside or outside the visor 14. For example, as the visor 14 contains the fabric material enclosing a board, the ball marker holder 24 can be integrally formed with the board so that the ball marker holder 24 is invisible from the visor 14. As such, the golfer can conveniently place the marker on the visor 14 at the location near the ball marker holder 24 and the marker will be attracted to the ball marker holder 24 to securely attach to the ball marker holder 24 by the magnetism.

Furthermore, in order to aid in securing the hat to the head of the wearer, for example when a gust of wind blows, the golf hat of the present invention further includes an adjustable chinstrap 16 and a headband 18. The chinstrap 16 has a clip 161 to adjust the length of the chinstrap 16 and can be rested on the brim 12 as shown in FIG. 1 when the chinstrap 16 is not used. The headband 18, as shown in FIG. 2, is provided to allow the wearer of the golf hat to selectively adjust the inner circumference of the hat to a proper fit for the size of the wearer's head. The headband 18 has two ends 181 designed to be mated together or releasable, such as mating pieces of Velcro® loop and hook material secured to each other. The headband 18 is preferably made of a material of which is designed to absorb perspiration, and is preferably positioned near the bottom edge 11 of the crown 10.

Claims

1. A golf hat, comprising:

a crown having a bottom edge;

a brim formed on two sides and rear of the bottom edge; and

a visor formed on front of the bottom edge and adjacent to the brim, wherein the front is defined to extend from about eye to eye adjacent the forehead of a wear's head.

2. The golf hat of claim 1, wherein the crown is made of anti-ultraviolet rays material.

3. The golf hat of claim 1, wherein the brim is integrally formed with the crown.

4. The golf hat of claim 1, wherein the brim is substantially horizontally extended from the bottom edge.

5. The golf hat of claim 1, wherein the brim is formed substantially perpendicularly to the crown.

6. The golf hat of claim 1, wherein the brim is made of anti-ultraviolet rays material.

7. The golf hat of claim 1, wherein the crown and the brim is made of a softer fabric material.

8. The golf hat of claim 1, wherein the visor is integrally formed with the crown.

9. The golf hat of claim 1, wherein the visor is substantially horizontally attached to the bottom edge.

10. The golf hat of claim 1, wherein the visor is made of a fabric material that is stitched to, or contains a stiffening material.

11. The golf hat of claim 1, further comprising a tee mount affixed on one side outer surface of the crown to hold a tee.

12. The golf hat of claim 1, further comprising a pocket affixed on one side outer surface of the crown.

13. The golf hat of claim 1, further comprising a marker holder formed on the visor to hold a golf ball marker.

14. The golf hat of claim 13, wherein the marker holder is integrally formed inside the visor to be invisible therefrom.

15. The golf hat of claim 1, further comprising an adjustable chinstrap.

16. The golf hat of claim 1, further comprising an adjustable headband.

17. The golf hat of claim 16, wherein the adjustable headband includes two ends to be matingly and releasably engaged.

18. The golf hat of claim 17, wherein the two ends are mating pieces of Velcro® loop and hook material secured to each other.
