Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a double-layer fireproof curtain apparatus, and more particularly to an apparatus having the functions of insulating heat, blocking fire, and resisting smoke to comply with the requirements of fire control equipments.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A traditional fireproof curtain apparatus as disclosed in R.O.C. Pat. No. 373655 comprises a fireproof cloth, a fireproof cloth driving unit, a control unit, and a detecting unit, wherein the fireproof cloth driving unit is divided into two types: a manual pulling brace and an electric motor. The motor is controlled by a switch in a control box, or the detecting unit detects a fire accident and the control unit directly drives the motor to operate. The prior art is characterized in that the fireproof is a roller blind having a weight installed at its lower end, so that the roller blind can be descended smoothly to the ground and attached closely to the ground to improve the isolating effect. Further, the fireproof cloth includes one or more lengthwise breach, and the breach forms an escape opening disposed at the bottom of the breach.

Although the foregoing prior art fireproof curtain apparatus can isolate the fire area while providing an escape door for people to escape from the fire site, yet the high-temperature radiant heat produced in a fire accident will kindle inflammables or hurt people in the area near the fire site. Further, the dense smoke is a main fatal factor, and thus the construction regulations of Taiwan require fire control equipments to have the function of insulating heat for at least an hour (according to Article 79 of the Construction Regulation). If only the prior art fireproof curtain apparatus is used as the fire control equipment, then the regulations for the related fire control equipment cannot be complied. The prior art fireproof curtain apparatus cannot achieve the effects of insulating heat, blocking fire and resisting smoke, and thus its practical application cannot meet user's requirements.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Therefore, it is a primary objective of the present invention to provide an apparatus using an air gap to achieve the effects of insulating heat, blocking fire, and resisting smoke, so as to comply with the regulations for fire control equipments.

To achieve the foregoing objective, a double-layer fireproof curtain apparatus having the effect of insulating heat, blocking fire and resisting smoke comprises a storing mechanism, two fireproof curtains, at least one sensing unit, and at least one control unit, and the storing mechanism further comprises a frame, and first activating unit and a second activating unit separately installed on both sides of the frame. The first and second activating units are disposed on an end of each fireproof curtain, and an air gap is formed between the two fireproof curtains when the fireproof curtains are descended, and the sensing unit is electrically connected to the first and second activating units, and the control unit is electrically connected to the first and second activating units.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the invention; and

FIG. 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the use of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIG. 1 for the schematic cross-sectional view of the present invention, a double-layer fireproof curtain apparatus having the functions of insulating heat, blocking fire, and resisting smoke in accordance with the invention comprises a storing mechanism 1, two fireproof curtains 2, 2a, at least one sensing unit 3, and at least one control unit 4 that can achieve the effects of insulating heat, blocking fire, and resisting smoke in a fire accident to comply with the regulations of fire control equipments.

The foregoing storing mechanism 1 further comprises a frame 11, and a first activating unit 12 and a second activating unit 13 disposed separately on both sides of the frame 11.

Each fireproof curtain 2, 2a includes a first and a second activating units 12, 13 disposed at an end of the fireproof curtain 2, 2a, such that each fireproof curtain 2, 2a can use the first and second activating units 12, 13 for rolling up or folding the curtain, and an air gap A is formed between the drooped fireproof curtains 2, 2a, and each fireproof curtain 2, 2a is made of a silicon dioxide (SiO2) material, and each fireproof curtain 2, 2a at its bottom includes a fixed section 21, 21a, and the fixed section 21, 21a installs a weight, or the design may not have the fixed section 21, 21a. The two fireproof curtains 2, 2a will be folded and stacked when they are in contact with the ground, and thus the length of the two fireproof curtains exceeds the distance for contacting the ground.

The sensing unit 3 is electrically connected with the first and second activating units 12, 13, and the sensing unit 3 could be a thermal sensor or a smoke sensor.

The control unit 4 is electrically connected with the first and second activating units 12, 13, and the control unit could be a manual control switch. Therefore, the foregoing structure constitutes a novel double-layer fireproof curtain apparatus having the functions of insulating heat, blocking fire, and resisting smoke.

Referring to FIG. 2 for the schematic cross-sectional view of the use of the present invention, the storing mechanism 1 uses its frame 11 installed at an appropriate position (such as an opening of a fire control area in a building), and at least one sensing unit 3 is installed at a predetermined position of a ceiling, and each fireproof curtain 2, 2a is rolled or folded into the storing mechanism 1, and a guide track 22 is provided for ascending or descending the fireproof curtain 2, 2a. If a fire accident occurs, the sensing unit 3 will detect the hot air or smog of the environment and activate the first and second activating units 12, 13, and each fireproof curtain 2, 2a is descended along the guide track 22 by the first and second activating units 12, 13. After each fireproof curtain 2, 2a is descended, an air gap A is formed between the two fireproof curtains 2, 2a, for reducing the thermal conduction from the fire site to achieve the effect of insulating heat and blocking fire. After each fireproof curtain 2, 2a is descended, the fixed section 21, 21a is used to droop the fireproof curtains 2, 2a smoothly to the ground and attach the curtains 2, 2a closely to the ground 5. The design also can come with no fixed section 21, 21a. The two fireproof curtains 2, 2a will be folded and stacked after they are in contact with the ground, and thus the length of the two fireproof curtains 2, 2a exceeds the distance for contacting the ground, so that the two fireproof curtains 2, 2a can be contacted with the ground more closely.

With this invention, the hot air, flame, and smog can be isolated effectively to comply with the regulations of fire control equipments.

Each fireproof curtain 2, 2a of the invention can use the sensing unit 3 to start the first and second activating units 12, 13, so that each fireproof curtain 2, 2a can be descended automatically, and the control unit 4 also can be controlled manually by users as needed, so that the first and second activating units 12, 13 can be activated pneumatically to descend the fireproof curtains 2, 2a.

In view of the description above, the double-layered fireproof curtain in accordance with the present invention can use the air gap to achieve the effect of insulating heat, blocking fire, and resisting smoke and meet the requirements of fire control, and thus the present invention is useful and novel in the industry, and has improvements over the prior arts.

While the invention has been described by way of example and in terms of a preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited thereto. To the contrary, it is intended to cover various modifications and similar arrangements and procedures, and the scope of the appended claims therefore should be accorded the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and similar arrangements and procedures.
