Further, there are two additional sections of one and one-half inch wide webbing each 16 and ½ inches in length sewn as in an “X” shaped pattern onto the areas of the apparatus where the two outermost parallel sections of one and one-half inch wide webbing are sewn to the two parallel sections of one inch webbing, and they are also sewn to each other where they cross and at and onto the middle piece of the three parallel sections of one and one-half inch wide webbing. At each end of the two one inch wide sections of webbing hand holds and foot holds are formed by the utilization of four small plastic adjusters whose dimensions are 1½ inches by 1¼ inches. Additionally, at the location below each of the hand holds a 5½ inches by 1⅜ inches adjustable shoulder protector is attached.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the invention in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present new concept and design may be better appreciated. It is a further object of the present invention to provide a new adjustable abdominal exercise apparatus which is of a durable and reliable construction.
As even further object of the present invention is to provide a new adjustable abdominal exercise apparatus which is susceptible of a low cost of manufacture with regard to both materials and labor, and which accordingly is then susceptible of low prices of sale to the consuming public, thereby making such new adjustable abdominal exercise apparatus economically available to the buying public.
Still another object of the invention is to provide a new adjustable abdominal exercise apparatus which is lightweight and easily transportable for use everywhere.
Even still another object of he invention is to provide a new adjustable abdominal exercise apparatus which is designed to provide a fill and complete workout of the upper and lower abdominal and right and left oblique muscles of the human body.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGSThe invention will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawing wherein:
With reference now to the drawing
The present invention consists of 7 pieces of webbing, of two different widths and three different lengths for each individual apparatus. Additionally there are four plastic adjusters to modify the size of the hand holds and the foot holds There are two adjustable shoulder guards as well.
The two largest sections of one inch wide webbing vary from 80 inches in length to 181 inches in length to accommodate apparatus of varying sizes, small to extra-large. These two longer sections of webbing are to be set in parallel position 9 inches apart and connected at the midpoint of each long section of webbing by a smaller piece of webbing one and one-half inches wide and 11 inches in length which is sewn thereto. Equidistant from each edge of the smaller section located at the midpoint by a measurement of 4¾ inches to the outside edges of another similar smaller section also sewn into the two longer sections of webbing. These three smaller sections are parallel to each other. From where these two outermost smaller sections are sewn to the two larger sections, there are two mid-size sections one and one-half inches wide and 16½ inches in length and sewn into an “X” shape pattern forming 45 degree angles. Additionally these two mid-size sections are sewn together at the point where they cross each other as well as to the smaller section located at the midpoint where they cross it at the center of the formed “X”. At one end of the longer sections on the same side of the apparatus, the ends are inserted through an adjustable shoulder guard, which can be moved along the longer section to the appropriate location of the individual user's shoulders. The hand holds and foot holds are formed at the ends of the longer sections by taking the end of each section and looping it back in and through a plastic adjuster which can be moved to increase or decrease the size of the individual hand holds and foot holds.
The user first inserts their feet into the foot holds and then adjust via the plastic adjuster the desired tightness of the foothold. The user then sits down making sure that their gluteus maximus muscles are situated within the area of the formed “X”. Then the user takes grasp of the hand holds brings them up their backside and over their shoulders. The user makes adjustment as they deem necessary to the shoulder guards. Also the user makes any necessary adjustment to the hand holds via the plastic adjuster to the desired degree of tightness. The user then lays flat on a surface and may proceed to raise and/or turn their upper body to work their upper and lower abdominal muscles as well as their right and left oblique muscles and while doing so the apparatus allows the user to keep their feet in place without movement.
As to a further discussion of manner and usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be readily apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, fore, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawing and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
