SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn view of the foregoing, it is an object of the present invention to provide a system or “kit” from which one may assemble many permutations of head band (or hair ribbon) and decorative bow combinations.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a system or “kit” from which one may assemble many permutations of head band (or hair ribbon) and decorative bow combinations in such a manner as to provide initial and subsequent flexibility in adornment selections.
In satisfaction of these and other related objectives, Applicant's present invention provides a system or “kit” from which one may assemble many permutations of head band (or hair ribbon) and decorative bow combinations.
The preferred version of the present invention is of a system or “kit” through which is provided a single head band (or hair ribbon) and an assortment of bows or other accessories (jewelry-type items, flowers, or even small; stuffed animals, etc.), for selective and/or alternative combinations. It its simplest form, the head band (or hair ribbon) is a simple elongate structure which is either tied at its distal ends to secure it to the wearer's head, or may include fasteners of some conventional design (hook and loop parings, snap-type assemblies, VELCRO, etc.). On the other hand, the bows or other reversibly attachable accessories are attachable to the head band (or hair ribbon), either by simply forming a knot from the band/ribbon, by which the bow or accessory is captured, or through some alternative attachment means, such as VELCRO or a snap-type arrangement. In any event, the attachment between band/ribbon and bow/accessory should be truly reversible and easily so.
While a system or “kit” which includes, as described above, one head band or hair ribbon, combined with a plurality of bows and/or accessories, the system may, in the alternative, be one which is purchased “al a carte”, or in some other combination (multiple bands/ribbons with one or more bows and/or accessories).
The present invention also includes a business method of presenting to prospective consumers combinations of head bands (or hair ribbons) and reversibly attachable accessories of varying appearance, either in combinations selected by the business method practitioner, or in consumer-selected combinations.

With reference to
Head band 10, as shown, includes attachment hardware consisting of a hook 18 and an eye structure 20. Furthermore, the particular assembly shown involves the simple tying of the first bow 12 (and/or other accessories) within a knot formed in head band 10. As discussed above, however, variations of attachment for both the ends of head band 10 and that between head band 10 and accessories 12, 14 and/or 16 can vary according to conventional choices.
Also included in within the scope of the present invention is a business method for providing variations of hair accessorizing combinations in a system or kit-based approach. The business method involves the simultaneous presentation to prospective purchasers of combinations of head bands and/or hair ribbons and reversibly attachable accessories.
A preferred mode of practicing the business method invention is by presenting to prospective purchasers display stands, mall kiosks or the like display of head bands (or hair ribbons) of varying designs which are packaged with, or at least presented along side a wide variety of reversibly attachable accessories. Purchasers are presented the opportunity to either “mix and match” bands/ribbons with various accessories, and/or purchasing pre-assembled combinations of accessory building blocks.
It is believed that the presently proposed hair accessory system or kit, as well as the business method presented provides never before available flexibility for fashion-based expression and variety through hair accessorizing, together with certain benefits of economy by virtue of achieving a variety of different “looks” without necessitating the purchase of numerous fully-constructed hair bands of static design or appearance.
Although the invention has been described with reference to specific embodiments, this description is not meant to be construed in a limited sense. Various modifications of the disclosed embodiments, as well as alternative embodiments of the inventions will become apparent to persons skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claims will cover such modifications that fall within the scope of the invention.
