Baby-food jar holder
An article of manufacture useful when feeding babys having a body, the body defining at least one indentation therein configured to receive an object selected from the group consisting of a container of baby food and a spoon.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThe prior art practice of feeding a baby is to place the baby in a high-chair and the baby-food containers on a table-top next to the high-chair or on the tray of the high- chair. The person feeding the baby picks up a spoon and one of the baby-food containers and proceeds to feed the baby. It is common for babies to swing their arms around and knock baby-food containers off the table-top or off the tray. If two spoons are used, the only convenient place to rest spoons not in use is either inside unused baby-food containers or else on the table-top. It would be an advance in the art if a means were invented to secure both baby-food containers and spoons so that they are readily accessible to the person feeding the baby and resistant from being knocked off the table-top or tray by the baby.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe instant invention is a solution to the above-stated problem. The instant invention provides a means to secure both baby-food containers and spoons so that they are readily accessible to the person feeding the baby but resistant from being knocked off the table-top or tray by the baby. The instant invention is a tray defining cavities into which several baby-food jars and spoons can be inserted. The baby-food jars are held securely in place to keep the baby from knocking over the jars during feeding. The device of the instant invention holds the baby-food jars at an angle making it easier for removal of the food with a spoon. More specifically, the instant invention is an article of manufacture useful when feeding babys, comprising: a body, the body defining at least one indentation therein configured to receive an object selected from the group consisting of a container of baby food and a spoon.

The preferred auto-adjusting pull-out resist ring is located about half way down inside the baby-food cavities 11 and helps to keep the baby-food containers secure so that the containers do not fall out if the holder is bumped. The preferred non-skid pads 14 help keep the holder from sliding off the surface where the body is placed. The longitudinal axis of the indentations 11 and 12 are preferably at an angle relative to the base of the body 13 of from eighty to thirty degrees.
The body is preferably molded from a thermoplastic polymer. The thermoplastic polymer is preferably selected from the group consisting of polystyrene, polypropylene, PMMA, SAN or ABS type polymers. The body of the instant invention can be a one-piece molding or can be assembled from a plurality moldings. The body of the instant invention can also be formed from stamped metal or stamped metal components such as stamped stainless steel.
CONCLUSIONIn conclusion, it should be readily apparent that although the invention has been described above in relation with its preferred embodiments, it should be understood that the instant invention is not limited thereby but is intended to cover all alternatives, modifications and equivalents that are included within the scope of the invention as defined by the following claims.
Claims
1. An article of manufacture useful when feeding babys, comprising: a body, the body defining at least one indentation therein configured to receive an object selected from the group consisting of a container of baby food and a spoon.
2. The article of manufacture of claim 1, wherein the body is molded from a thermoplastic polymer.
3. The article of manufacture of claim 2, wherein the thermoplastic polymer is selected from the group consisting of polystyrene, polypropylene, PMMA, SAN or ABS type of polymer.
4. The article of manufacture of any of claims 1-3, wherein the longitudinal axis of the indentations at an angle relative to the base of the body of from eighty to thirty degrees.
