Receptacle closure device having hand grip
A receptacle closure device includes a receptacle having an open upper end, and a closure having a top wall and a marginal flange portion bent downwardly from the top wall for engaging onto the upper end of the receptacle. The closure includes one or more hand grips extended from the marginal flange portion of the closure, and each has two ends secured to the marginal flange portion of the closure with connectors, for allowing the hand grip to be folded relative to the closure to carry and lift the closure and the receptacle. The closure includes one or more hinge connectors coupled between the hand grip and the marginal flange portion of the closure, and breakable by users.
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a receptacle closure device, and more particularly to a receptacle closure device having a pivotal hand grip for being selectively released from the closure device, and for carrying or lifting the receptacle.
2. Description of the Prior Art
Typical receptacle closure devices comprise a number of helical or thread lugs formed or extended from an upper end surface of a receptacle and spaced away from each other, and a closure including a marginal flange portion bent downwardly from the margin of a top wall and including an inturned wire edge turned upwardly within the closure, for threading or engaging with the thread lugs of the receptacle.
For example, U.S. Pat. No. 2,148,169 to Merolle discloses one of the typical receptacle closure devices comprising a number of thread lugs provided or extended from an upper end surface of a receptacle, and a closure including an inturned wire edge turned upwardly within the closure, for threading or engaging with the thread lugs of the receptacle, and for openably attaching the closure onto the receptacle.
Recently, the typical closures and the receptacles are normally made of plastic or other synthetic materials and formed by molding or mold injection processes. The other typical closures may be molded onto the receptacles, and selectively releaseable from the receptacle, for allowing the typical closures to be opened from the receptacles.
However, all of the typical closure devices comprise a closure that may be used for threading or engaging with the receptacle only, but fail to provide handles or hand grips for carrying or lifting the receptacles.
The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional receptacle closure devices.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe primary objective of the present invention is to provide a receptacle closure device including a pivotal hand grip for being selectively released from the closure device, and for carrying or lifting the receptacle.
In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided a receptacle closure device comprising a receptacle including an open upper end, and a closure including a top wall, and a marginal flange portion bent downwardly from the top wall, for engaging onto the upper end of the receptacle, and the closure includes at least one hand grip extended from the marginal flange portion of the closure, and having two ends secured to the marginal flange portion of the closure with connectors, for allowing the hand grip to be folded from or relative to the closure to carry and lift the closure and the receptacle.
The closure includes at least one hinge connector coupled between the hand grip and the marginal flange portion of the closure, and breakable by users, to openably securing the hand grip to the marginal flange portion of the closure.
The closure includes an inner thread extended inwardly from the marginal flange portion of the closure, for threading with the receptacle, and for openably attaching the closure onto the receptacle.
The receptacle includes a lock groove formed in an outer peripheral portion of the upper end thereof, and the closure includes a lock rib extended inwardly from the marginal flange portion of the closure, to engage into the lock groove of the receptacle, and to lock the closure onto the receptacle.
The closure includes a peripheral band located at a lower portion of the marginal flange portion of the closure, and releasably coupled to the marginal flange portion of the closure with a first hinge line, for allowing the peripheral band to be disengaged from the marginal flange portion of the closure by breaking the first hinge line.
The peripheral band includes a second hinge line provided in a segment thereof, to form two parallel narrowed strips, to allow the strips to be disengaged from the marginal flange portion of the closure and the peripheral band by breaking the first and the second hinge lines.
The peripheral band includes a knob attached to either of the strips, to pull and disengage the strips from the marginal flange portion of the closure and the peripheral band.
Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of the detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Referring to the drawings, and initially to
The closure 10 may include a typical inner thread 13 (
The closure 10 may further include a lock rib 14 extended inwardly from the marginal flange portion 12 of the closure 10, and preferably located at or close to the lower portion 15 of the closure 10 (
The closure 10 further includes one (
The closure 10 may further include one or more further dots or welding or hinge connectors 23 coupled between the hand grips 20 and the marginal flange portion 12 of the closure 10, to openably or temporarily securing or coupling the middle portions of the hand grips 20 to the marginal flange portion 12 of the closure 10, and for allowing the hand grips 20 to be optionally or selectively released and folded or bent upwardly from the marginal flange portion 12 of the closure 10 when the hinge connectors 23 are broken by the users, for example.
In operation, as shown in
The closure 10 may further include a releaseable or openable peripheral band 30 formed or provided or located at the lower portion 15 of the marginal flange portion 12 of the closure 10, and releasably or openably coupled to the marginal flange portion 12 of the closure 10 with a hinge line 31, for allowing the peripheral band 30 to be disengaged or removed from the marginal flange portion 12 of the closure 10 by breaking the hinge line 31.
The peripheral band 30 includes another hinge line 32 formed or provided in a portion or a segment thereof, to form two substantially parallel narrowed strips 33, 34, best shown in
The hand grips 20 may be optionally or selectively formed or provided on the peripheral band 30, for allowing the hand grips 20 to be disengaged or removed from the marginal flange portion 12 of the closure 10 together with the peripheral band 30. The closure 10 may include a single hand grip 20 (
Accordingly, the receptacle closure device in accordance with the present invention includes a pivotal hand grip for being selectively released from the closure device, and for carrying or lifting the receptacle.
Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
