Abstract

In order to enhance comfort and convenience by quickly absorbing and dissipating sweat, headwear according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes first and second crown portions wherein the first crown portion is for being worn on a head of a wearer, and the second crown portion is combined to a bottom of the first crown portion and provides a sweat absorbing function.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(a) Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to headwear. More particularly, the present invention relates to headwear having enhanced comfort and convenience by quickly absorbing and dissipating sweat.

(b) Description of the Related Art

Typically, headwear (for example, a cap) includes a crown portion for being worn on a head of a wearer, a visor portion extruding from the crown portion and blocking sunlight, and a band (or a sweatband) combined to the crown portion at its lower interior side so as to absorb sweat. Thus, according to such conventional headwear, the band, which may be elastic, provides a function of absorbing sweat.

Since the band is covered by the crown portion, sweat absorbed by the sweatband may not be easily evaporated and dissipated to an exterior of the headwear, and the sweat tends to remain within a space between crown portion and the head of the wearer. Therefore, in the case of a long or hard exercise that produces a large amount of sweat, such a sweatband may easily reach its maximum sweat-absorbing capacity and may not provide sufficient function of absorbing sweat.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been made in an effort to provide headwear having advantages of enhanced comfort and convenience by quickly absorbing and dissipating sweat even with a large amount of sweat.

Exemplary headwear according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a first crown portion for being worn on a head of a wearer, and a second crown portion combined to a bottom of the first crown portion and providing a sweat absorbing function.

The exemplary headwear may further include a visor portion combined to the first crown portion.

The second crown portion may be formed of a sweat absorbing material.

The second crown portion may include a sweat absorbing member disposed therein.

The first crown portion and the second crown portion may be combined together by a sewing thread.

The first crown portion and the second crown portion may be formed of different materials.

The second crown portion may be formed of an elastic material.

A combining section of the second crown portion may occupy more than approximately half of an entire bottom circumference of the first crown portion.

A height of the second crown portion may be formed to be greatest at its rear end and to be reduced going forward.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS

An embodiment of the present invention will hereinafter be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of headwear according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a bottom side perspective view of the headwear in FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view along the line A-A of FIG. 1.

Headwear according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a first crown portion 1 for being worn on a head of a wearer and a second crown portion 3 combined to a bottom of the first crown portion 1. In addition, a visor portion 5 may be combined to the first crown portion 1 so as to block sunlight. However, it should not be understood that such a visor portion 5 is always necessary in the present invention. That is, within the scope of the present invention such a visor portion 5 may not be employed in a headwear, depending on the case.

The first crown portion 1 and the second crown portion 3 may be combined by a sewing thread. That is, the first crown portion 1 forms a part of an entire crown portion (that is a conventional crown portion), and the second crown portion 3 is combined to a bottom of the first crown portion 1 by a sewing thread 7 so as to form the entire crown portion. The second crown portion 3 may be combined to a bottom circumference of the first crown portion 1 such that a combining section of the second crown portion 3 may occupy more than approximately half of an entire bottom circumference of the first crown portion 1.

In addition, the second crown portion 3 may be formed of a material that quickly absorbs and highly dissipates sweat.

A separate sweat absorbing member 9 may be disposed in an interior of the second crown portion 3. Such a sweat absorbing member 9 enhances the sweat absorbing function of the second crown portion 3 and thus it helps better dissipation of the sweat to the exterior of the headwear. The second crown portion 3 may also be formed of a material providing a sweat absorbing function such that it may absorb the sweat and exteriorly dissipate it quickly.

In order to improve aesthetical features and also to enable rapid dissipation of sweat at the rear of a head of a wearer, the second crown portion 3 is formed to be relatively tall at a rear side of the headwear, and the height becomes gradually lower as it becomes closer to the visor portion 5. That is, the height of the second crown portion 3 is greatest at its rear end and reduced going forward. Such a second crown portion 3 does not involve a separate pressure element (for example, a sewn portion or other combining portions that can only tightly fit on the head due to a lack of elasticity) around a circumference thereof, and accordingly, comfort may be enhanced.

In addition, the first crown portion 1 and the second crown portion 3 may be formed of different materials. In addition, the second crown portion may be formed partly or entirely of~an elastic member.

In other words, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the first crown portion 1 and the second crown portion 3 do not overlap with each other except at a portion for combining them by a sewing thread 7. Therefore, the second crown portion 3 functions as a part of a conventional crown portion, and at the same time, it also functions as a sweat absorber depending on its material, thereby achieving a good sweat dissipation function of the headwear. The second crown portion 3 provides most of its sweat absorbing function at lower portions of lateral and rear sides of the headwear, and such a second crown portion 3 may be employed to replace a conventional sweat-absorbing member (that is, a sweatband).

Although headwear according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention involves a visor portion, it is notable that the spirit of the present invention may also be applied to headwear that does not involve such a visor portion.

As described above, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a crown portion is combined at its lower end with an additional crown portion of a different material, and thus sweat may be easily absorbed thereby. In addition, the additional crown portion is exteriorly exposed, and thereby, the absorbed sweat may be exteriorly dissipated easily.

In addition, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a sweatband that may press a head (i.e., that can not comfortably accept a head due to lack of elasticity) is not employed at a lower part of the crown portion, and therefore, comfort may be improved.

While this invention has been described in connection with what is presently considered to be practical exemplary embodiments, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments, but, on the contrary, is intended to cover various modifications and equivalent arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.

Claims

1. Headwear, comprising:

a first crown portion for being worn on a head of a wearer; and

a second crown portion combined to a bottom of the first crown portion and providing a sweat absorbing function;

wherein the second crown portion comprises a sweat absorbing member disposed therein and a height of the second crown portion is greatest at a rearmost point thereof and continuously reduced going forward so that the height of the second crown portion is greater at the rearmost point than at non-rearmost point portions of the second crown portion.

2. The headwear of claim 1, further comprising a visor portion combined to the first crown portion.

3. The headwear of claim 1, wherein the second crown portion is formed of a sweat absorbing material.

8. The headwear of claim 1, wherein a combining section of the second crown portion occupies more than approximately half of an entire bottom circumference of the first crown portion.

wherein the second crown portion is formed of a sweat absorbing material, and the second crown portion comprises a sweat absorbing member disposed therein.

11. The headwear of claim 1, wherein:

the first crown portion and the second crown portion are formed of different materials;

the second crown portion is formed of an elastic material; and

a combining section of the second crown portion occupies more than approximately half of an entire bottom circumference of the first crown portion.

12. The headwear of claim 10, wherein:

the first crown portion and the second crown portion are formed of different materials;

the second crown portion is formed of an elastic material; and

a combining section of the second crown portion occupies more than approximately half of an entire bottom circumference of the first crown portion.

13. The headwear of claim 12, wherein:

the first crown portion and the second crown portion are combined together by a sewing thread.
