Push in hair addition hair pin

Abstract

A detachable hair addition for attaching to existing hair to create the appearance of longer and or thicker hair. The detachable hairpiece includes a push in hair pin like hair clip having an attached natural or synthetic hair weft, said hair weft encompasses a thin bendable wire thru-out the entire length thus allowing a secure attachment to said hair pin in such way that the clip is substantially concealed by the supplemental hair weft when the hair pin is attached to the wearers natural hair.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

My invention relates generally to hair accessories and, more specifically, to hair accessories that supplement the natural hair of a user. By means of attaching supplemental hair or a hair weft to a push in hair pin, resulting in a hair addition and ultimately providing a user with the ability to create the impression of longer hair and or a fuller head of hair. At least one known form of a hair piece provided for these purposes by attaching a hair switch to a hair clip such that the hair piece hangs from the hair clip, see U.S. Pat. No. 5,501,239. However, hair clips are sometimes considered informal and the user may wish to wear a hair addition without the hair clip being visible.

Accordingly, it would be desirable to provide a hair addition clip that has the strength to retain the user's hair in place while creating the appearance of a fuller head of hair.

2. Description of Prior Art

Numerous designs hair additions and or hair clips containing supplemental hair have been provided in the prior art.

Even though these designs may be suitable for the specific individual purposes to which they address, they would not be suitable for the present version of the invention as they do not embody the comfort, durability and flexibility of my design. These designs are exemplified by U.S. Pat. No. 6,629,536 Hair Accessory, issued to Lane on Oct. 7, 2003. U.S. Pat. No. 6,019,107 Detachable Hairpiece, issued to Overmyer on Feb. 1, 2000, discloses a detachable hair piece for attaching to existing hair to create the appearance of longer hair, comprising of a clip that has an outer portion and a brush portion that is pivotally coupled to the outer portion. While the detachable hairpiece may provide the appearance of longer hair, the hair clip is visible, and maybe considered informal.

As such, it may be appreciated that there is a continuing need for new and improved design and device for providing a hair addition in a manner that is relatively simple and inexpensive. In these respects, the present version of the invention substantially departs from the conventional concepts and designs of the prior art, and in doing so provides an apparatus that substantially fulfils this need. Additionally, the prior patents do not suggest the present inventive combination of component elements arranged and configured as disclosed herein.

The present invention achieves its intended purposes, objects and advantages through a new, useful and unobvious combination of component elements and design, with the use of a minimum number of functioning parts, at a reasonable cost to manufacture and with the use of readily available materials.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The general purpose of my invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a new detachable hair piece apparatus to supplement the user's natural hair. The method includes providing a supplemental hair weft and a hair clip or hair pin. The method further includes attaching the supplemental hair weft thru a bendable wire, then attaching the said wire to a hair pin or hair clip. The supplemental hair weft is further secured to the hair pin or hairs clip in such that the hair pin or hair clip is substantially concealed by the strands when the hair piece is attached to the user's natural hair. To attain this, the present invention generally comprises of a supplemental hair weft attached to a bendable thin wire by means of wrapping and sowing the supplemental hair weft around and onto the thin bendable wire. The supplemental hair weft which encompasses the bendable wire is then further attached to the hair pin like hair clip by means of securing one end of the bendable wire to the top center member of the hair pin like clip. Said method of attachment of supplemental hair weft to the hair pin like hair clip is provided via sowing with thread the plurality of supplemental hair to the top side of the hair pin. Therefore providing the wearer with an apparatus to create the illusion of thicker and or longer hair and further concealing the hair pin like hair clip, creating a natural looking fuller head of hair. Furthermore the bendable wire which is encompassed thru the supplemental hair weft allow for a flexible attachment to the wearer's natural hair.

DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring now to the illustrations in particular to FIG. 1 wherein there is an actual view of the push in hair addition hair pin 10. The present version of the invention 10 consist, a push in hair pin like hair clip 18, containing a center member 20, two side members 22, supplemental hair weft 12, encompassing a thin bendable wire 16, and thread 14 for further securing the supplemental hair weft 12, onto the push in hair pin 18.

Push in hair pin 18, is fabricated with an inner top spring for added security when attached to the wearers hair. Furthermore the supplemental hair weft 12 is secured to said push in hair pin 18, by means of wrapping its encompassed thin bendable wire 16 around the center member 20 of the push in hair pin 18. In addition thread is used to further secure the top of the supplemental hair weft to the center member 20 of the push in hair pin 18. Thus substantially concealing the push in hair pin 18 with the supplemental hair weft 12, therefore obtaining the desired effect of longer and or thicker hair.

FIG. 2 is an actual inside close-up view of the push in hair pin 18, without any supplemental hair weft 12 attached. Said push in hair pin 18 includes a center member 20 and side memebers 22, a top 24 and a bottom 26. The push in hair pin 18 has an arch-like shape, therefore allowing for a closer and more secure fit on the wearer's head and or hair. In FIG. 3 the supplemental hair weft 12 is illustrated in an unattached position, thus revealing its encompassing thin bendable wire 16 thru-out the entire length of the supplemental hair weft 12. By means of wrapping a hair weft onto and around a thin bendable wire 16, and further securing the hair weft 12 with thread 14 on to the bendable wire 16, the supplemental hair weft is able to be attached to the push in hair pin 18, thus providing the desired effect of longer and or thicker hair. Due to the encompassing bendable wire 16, the wearer is able to position the supplemental hair in any desired style or position.

FIG. 4 illustrates the manner in which the supplemental hair weft 12 is attached to the push in hair pin 18, by means of wrapping the supplemental hair wefts 12, encompassing bendable wire 16, onto and around the center member 20 of the push in hair pin, the further securing the top of the supplemental hair weft 12, to the center member 20, with thread 14.

FIG. 5 illustrates an actual push in hair addition hair pin 10.

From the preceding description of various embodiments of the present invention, it is evident that the objects of the invention are attained. Although the invention has been described and illustrated in detail, it is to be clearly understood that the same is intended by way of illustration and example only and is not to be taken by way of limitation. For example the interlocking clips could be used in a hairpiece that provides support for a larger quantity of supplemental hair. As this version of the invention and method has been illustrated and described in detail in the illustrations and foregoing description, the same is to be considered as illustrative and not restrictive in character, it being understood that only the preferred embodiment has been shown and described and that all changes and modification that come within the spirit of the version of the invention are desired to be protected. With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the illustrations and described in the specifications are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

CONCLUSION AND SCOPE OF INVENTION

It will be understood, from the foregoing that persons skilled in the art, that an improved detachable hair addition and or hair piece has been provided.

The invention is relatively simple and easy to manufacture, yet affords a variety of uses. While my description contains many specifications, these should not be constructed as limitations on the scope of the version of the invention, but rather as an exemplification of the preferred embodiment thereof. The foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly all suitable modification and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention. Although this invention has been described in its preferred form with a certain degree of particularity, it is understood that the present disclosure of the preferred form has been made only by way of example and numerous changes in details of construction and combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Still yet another object of the present invention is to provide a new detachable hairpiece which provides in the apparatuses and methods of the prior art some of the advantages thereof, while simultaneously overcoming some of the disadvantages normally associated therewith. Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a new detachable hairpiece which includes a supplemental hair weft encompassing a bendable wire attached to a hair pin like hair clip for clipping onto a wearer's hair. The hair pin and or hair clip has three protruding members with a top spring for attaching to the wearers own natural hair furthermore containing the supplemental hair weft encompassing a thin bendable wire to further secure the supplemental artificial hair, while concealing the hair pin and or hair clip when attached to the wearer's natural hair, thus providing a natural looking fuller head of hair.

Even still another object of the present invention is to provide a new detachable hairpiece that has a more secure and flexible fit due to its encompassing thin bendable wire, thus allowing for a fuller and longer looking head of hair when attached to the user's natural hair. These together with other objects of the invention, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the invention, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure. For a better understanding of the invention, its operating advantages and the specific objects attained by its uses, references should be made to the accompanying drawings and descriptive matter in which there are illustrated preferred embodiments of the invention.

Claims

1. a hair addition to supplement a user's natural hair, comprising:

A push in hair pin like hair clip

Said push in hair pin like hair clip having three expandable members

Said hair pin like hair clip having a top spring thus allowing the three members to expand said two hair pin like hair clip having an attached hair weft

Said hair weft encompassing a thin bendable wire thru-out the entire length of the hair weft for attaching hair weft or hair strands to the clip such that the clip is substantially concealed by the hair wefts when the clip is attached to the wearer's natural hair;

2. The hair addition of claim 1, wherein said hair pin like hair clips have three expandable members.

3. The hair addition of claim 1, wherein said hair pin like hair clip have a top spring thus allowing the three members to expand

4. The hair addition of claim 1, wherein said hair pin like hair clip have an attached hair weft.

5. The hair addition of claim 1, wherein said hair weft encompasses a thin bendable wire thru-out the entire length of the hair weft

6. A hair addition comprising:

A top end;

A bottom end

7. A hair addition wherein said hair wefts comprise at least one of natural hair and or synthetic hair.

8. A hair addition in accordance with claim 4 wherein said supplemental hair strands and or hair wefts are attached with the hair wefts encompassing thin bendable wire to the top end of the center member of the hair pin like hair clip such that said strands substantially conceal said hair clip when said hair clip is attached to a head and or hair of a user.

A hair addition in accordance with claim 5 wherein said supplemental hair strands and or hair wefts encompass a thin bendable wire attached my means of wrapping the hair weft around the a thin bendable wire, furthermore secure the hair weft to the thin bendable wire with thread, thru the entire length of the thin bendable wire.

10. In accordance with claim 8, where the supplemental hair weft is further secured to the top center member of the hair pin like hair clip by means of wrapping the end of the bendable wire encompassed thru the hair weft and further securing with thread.
