Description
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a brush for cleaning dust from tables, keyboards, office automation machines and video and audio devices, against static charges.

2. Related Prior Art

Disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 6,226,828, issued to the applicant of the present application, is a conventional brush for removing dust. As shown in FIGS. 11 through 13 of the drawings attached to the present invention, the conventional brush includes a cylinder 1 and a brushing unit 2 movable in the cylinder 1.

The cylinder 1 defines a slot 11 and an aperture 12. The slot 11 is in communication with the aperture 12. The brushing unit 2 includes a bundle of bristles 21 bundled by means of an iron wire 26 and a hollow slider 22 for receiving an end of the bundle of bristles 21 and for sliding in the cylinder 1. The slider 22 includes an upper elastic strip 23 and a lower elastic strip 24. A button 25 is formed on the upper elastic strip 23. The button 25 includes a neck and a larger head. The elastic strips 23 and 24 can be pressed toward each other so that the button 25 can be moved into the cylinder 1. The button 25 is exposed from the cylinder 1 through the aperture 12. The head of the button 25 can be pushed backward so that the neck of the button 25 can be moved in the slot 11 and that the bundle of bristles 21 can be retracted into the cylinder 1 for storage. The head of the button 25 can be pushed forward so that the neck of the button 25 can be moved in the slot 11 and that the bundle of bristles 21 can be pushed from the cylinder 1 for use.

Problems have been encountered in the use and fabrication of the conventional brush. Firstly, when the button 25 is pushed backward from the aperture 12, the button 25 is often pushed down so that the head of the button 25 is stuck at the slot 11 and that the movement of the brushing unit 2 is hindered. Secondly, the bristles 21 are bundled by means of the iron wire 26, and this requires labor and time. Thirdly, the iron wire 26 increases the cost of material. Fourthly, the iron wire 26 might harm workers.

The present invention is intended to obviate or at least alleviate the problems encountered in prior art.
