CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims priority of Application No. ES200600065 filed Jan. 12, 2006, which is incorporated by reference herein in its entirety.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The object of the present Patent is an improved lid for containers that includes significant innovations and advantages compared to other arrangements of known lids.

More specifically the new invention refers to an improved lid for containers that includes an inner body that fits to a container on the outer part and a second body that fits to said inner part encasing it on its external face on which both bodies are fitted without additional elements.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART

At the present time, the existence is known of a wide variety of materials made from plastics or synthetic resins that are used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries and which have a main body and an upper lid, such as the container that is described in the Utility Model No 9400649 that belongs to the same owner as this present applicant.

Said upper lid is usually formed by two bodies connected to each other, however, the union between the bodies is carried out by means of adhesion using adhesive products that are available in the market, and in so doing increase the manufacturing cost of the lid and also the whole of the packaging.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been developed for the purpose of providing a lid for containers that solves the previously stated disadvantages, moreover, providing other advantages that will be clear from the description which is attached below.

The improved lid for containers of the object of the invention that belongs to the type that has an inner body that fits to the container by its external part and a second body in the form of a casing fitted to said inner body encasing it by its external face, and is basically characterised by the fact that the assembly of one body to the other is carried out by means of snap fitting, the inner body having a protrusion on the underside which includes a perimeter cavity into which a rib that comes from the periphery of the external body is introduced.

Thanks to these characteristics a fixing of both bodies is obtained that avoids the use of additional elements such as special adhesive products in such a way as to reduce the costs and manufacturing time of the lid itself.

In accordance with another aspect of the invention, the external surface of the cavity and the surface of the rib that is in contact with said external surface have a milled surface finish. In this way the turning of said two bodies are prevented from turning simultaneously when the user of container opens or closes the lid on the container.

In a preferred embodiment of the lid, the inner body includes a threaded section that fits to a threaded section of the container in order to carry out the closing process of the container.

Other characteristics and advantages of the container lid object of the present invention will be come clear from the present description of a preferred embodiment, which is not exclusive, being illustrated only by way of example, in attached drawings, in which:

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 shows a side elevation cross diagram of the container lid in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 2 shows a detailed enlarged side elevation corresponding to a section of the fitting zone of the two bodies of the lid represented in the previous figure; and

FIG. 3 shows a detailed sectioned transversal elevation along the line A-A in FIG. 2 of the milled zone.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

The container lid object of the invention is intended for containers and tubs, for example, for use in the marketing of cremes, cosmetic and similar products and is mainly made from an inner body (1) of a plastic material with a certain degree of flexibility that is fitted to a conventional container (not shown) on its outside and by a second external body (2) as a casing in such a way that it can be from the same or different materials fitted to said interior body (1) so that it encloses it by its external face as and how can be seen in FIG. 1. The assembly of both bodies (1 & 2) to each other is carried out by means of snap fitting, the said fitting together having being provisioned by a protrusion (3) on the lower end of the inner body (1) that protrudes perpendicularly to the outside and which has a perimeter cavity (3A) into which a rib (4) is introduced that comes from the periphery of the external body (2).

The external surface of the stated cavity (3A) likewise the surface of the rib that is in contact with said external surface has a milled surface finish (6) (made up from a multitude of equidistant tabs), as and how they can be seen in FIGS. 2 and 3, in such a way as to guarantee the immobility of one body against the other when the user makes a turning movement to open or close the container.

In this case the inner body (1) includes an internal threaded section (5) that fits to a threaded section of the container.

The details, shapes, sizes and other accessorial elements, likewise the materials used for the construction of the container lid of the invention can suitably be substituted for others that are technically equivalent and do not deviate from the essentials of the invention or the scope defined by the claims which are included below.

Claims

1. Improved lid for containers an inner body to be connected to a container by its outside part and by a second external body in such a way that it encloses said inner body by its external face, wherein the assembly of both bodies to each other is carried out by snap fitting, the said fitting together having being provisioned by a protrusion on the lower end of the inner body having a perimetral cavity into which a rib that comes from the periphery of the external body is introduced.

2. Lid for containers according to claim 1, wherein the external surface of the cavity and the surface of the rib that is in contact with said external surface has a milled surface finish.

3. Lid for containers according to claim 1, wherein the inner body has a threaded section that is fitted to a threaded section on the container.
