Drain assembly
A drain assembly includes a cup connected to the sink and having an extension tube. A seal and an urging ring are mounted to the cup from the underside of the cup. A positioning plate is fixed to the cup and the extension tube extends through a central hole of the positioning plate. A plurality of bolts extend through the positioning plate and contact against the urging ring. A filtering seal device is connected to the cup. A connector is fixed to the extension tube and a positioning member is threadedly connected to the extension tube of the cup. The positioning member is engaged with the central hole of the positioning plate. By the engagement of the positioning member and the positioning plate, the assembler can quickly position the drain assembly.
The present invention relates to a drain assembly which is easily to be installed and trash is not trapped in the drain assembly.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION A conventional drain assembly 1 is shown in
As shown in
When installing the drain assembly 2, the positioning plate 24 is mounted to the cup 21 with the notches in alignment with the protrusions on the cup 21 and the positioning plate 24 is then rotated to let the protrusions support the positioning plate 24. The bolts 241 are then rotated to contact against the urging ring 23 such that the drain assembly 2 is fixed to the sink. Nevertheless, the recesses 214 in the cup 21 trap trash therein and are not easily to remove the trash.
The present invention intends to provide a drain assembly which is easily to be installed and cleaned.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to a drain assembly which comprises a cup connected to the sink and an extension tube extends from an underside of the cup. A seal and an urging ring are mounted to the cup from the underside of the cup. A positioning plate is fixed to the cup and has a central hole through which the extension tube extends. A plurality of bolts extend through the positioning plate and contact against the urging ring. A filtering seal device is connected to the cup and includes a basket, a rubber seal and a rod which extends through the basket and is connected to the rubber seal. A connector is fixed to the extension tube so as to be connected with a sewage tube. A positioning member is threadedly connected to the extension tube and engaged with the central hole of the positioning plate.
The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Referring to
A positioning plate 35 is fixed to the cup 31 and has a central hole 351 through which the extension tube 312 extends. A plurality of bolts 352 extend through the positioning plate 35 and contact against the urging ring 33.
A connector 36 is threadedly connected to the extension tube 312 and a positioning ring 361 is connected to an underside of the connector 36 so that the sewage pipe (not shown) can be positioned with the positioning ring 361.
A filtering seal device 37 is connected to the cup 31 and includes a basket 371, a rubber seal 372 and a rod 373 which extends through the basket 371 and is connected to the rubber seal 372. The rod 273 can be composed of two parts which are threadedly connected with each other. The rod 273 includes a narrow distal end 374 which can be inserted into one of the holes 315 in the center of the bottom plate 314 of the cup 31.
A positioning member 34 has an inner threaded periphery 341 which is threadedly connected to the outer threaded periphery 313 of the extension tube 312. The positioning member 34 is sized such that it is engaged with the central hole 351 of the positioning plate 35. Further referring to
When installing the drain assembly 3, the seal 32 and the positioning member 34 are mounted to the cup 31 and the positioning plate 35 is mounted to the extension tube 312 to be engaged with the positioning member 34 as described hereinabove. The bolts 352 are then rotated to contact against the urging ring 33. The positioning ring 361 is then connected to the connector 36 which is fixed to the extension tube 312.
Referring to
As shown in
The drain assembly 3 includes the positioning member 34 which is located at outside of the extension tube 312 and the positioning plate 35 includes a central hole 351 which is easily engaged with the positioning member 34 so that the installers can quickly position the drain assembly 3. The positioning member 34 can be made by linear press-cutting or linear cutting and the positioning member 34 is fixed to the extension tube 312 by gluing or welding. The installers can quickly connect the positioning plate 35 to the positioning member 34. Because the extension tube 312 is positioned by using the positioning member 34 and the positioning plate 35, so that the inner periphery of the extension tube 312 can be smooth which does not trap debris of goods.
While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
