Abstract

A golf club accessory is designed as a novelty for providing humor at an appropriate time on a golf course. The golf club accessory comprises a golf club cover for protecting golf clubs from weather, such golf club cover having a predetermined configuration and formed of a predetermined material. A speaker is disposed within the golf bag cover for providing prerecorded preselected sayings and there is a remote control means for activating the speaker that is disposed in the golf club cover. A voice chip is electronically engageable with the speaker and with the remote control means for storing such prerecorded preselected sayings and for playing these prerecorded preselected sayings.

CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application is closely related to and claims benefit from U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 60/790,928 filed Apr. 10, 2006.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates, in general, to a golf club cover, and, more particularly, the present invention relates to a golf club cover that incorporates a remote activated voice chip for providing comical or humorous anecdotes or quips.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Playing golf can be as stressful as it can be rewarding for the avid golfer. Generally the game of golf is quite serious for the golfers. Frequently a bit of humor or a laugh can provide the diversion necessary to enable even the most serious golfer to relax. For this reason, when golfers are leaving the green from one hole and are moving toward the next hole would be a great time to enjoy a comical highlight.

Keeping golf clubs safe and protected from the elements is also important when on the course or when the clubs are in storage. Every golfer is also interested in having the most up to date and intriguing accessory for the clubs which includes a cover.

Thus, it would be advantageous if there were a golf club or golf bag cover that would not only protect the clubs but also be equipt to provide the golfer with fun and unique mens of providing a degree of levity at the appropriate time.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a golf club accessory for providing humor at an appropriate time. The golf club accessory comprises a golf club cover for protecting golf clubs from weather, such golf club cover having a predetermined configuration and formed of a predetermined material. A speaker is disposed within the golf bag cover for providing prerecorded preselected sayings and there is a remote control means for activating the speaker that is disposed in the golf club cover. A voice chip is electronically engageable with the speaker and with the remote control means for storing such prerecorded preselected sayings and for playing these prerecorded preselected sayings.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

It is, therefore, one of the primary objects of the present invention to provide a golf club cover that has an integrated speaker box that offers humorous recordings.

Another object of the present invention to provide a golf club cover that has a remote control of such speaker box.

Still another object of the present invention to provide a golf club cover that can be made into various styles including dogs, tigers or other animals.

Yet another object of the present invention to provide a golf club cover which is also functional in protecting the clubs from the elements.

In addition to the various objects and advantages of the invention which have been described in some specific detail above it should be noted that various other objects and advantages of the present invention will become more readily apparent to those persons who are skilled in the relevant art from the following more detailed description, particularly when such description is taken in conjunction with the appended claims.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENTLY PREFERRED AND VARIOUS ALTERNATIVE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION

Prior to proceeding with the more detailed description of the present invention it should be noted that, for the sake of clarity, identical components which have identical functions have been designated by identical reference numerals throughout the several views illustrated in the drawings.

In a first aspect the present invention provides a golf club accessory, generally designated 10, for providing humor at an appropriate time on a golf course. The golf club accessory comprises a golf club cover 2 for protecting golf clubs from weather, such golf club cover 2 having a predetermined configuration and formed of a predetermined material. A speaker 4 is disposed within the golf bag cover 2 for providing prerecorded preselected sayings and there is a remote control means, generally designated 20, for activating the speaker 2 that is disposed in the golf club cover 2. A voice chip 6 is electronically engageable with the speaker 4 and with the remote control means 20 for storing such prerecorded preselected sayings and for playing these prerecorded preselected sayings.

It is presently preferred that such remote control means 20 is push button 8 controlled. It is also presently preferred that such golf club cover 2 is selected from one of a house pet and a wild animal. The house pet is one of a dog and a cat. The wild animals could be selected from lions, bears, tigers, panthers or other wild animals. Generally it is preferred if the wild animal is an animal that is used as a name for a college or a professional sports team, such as the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions or others.

The predetermined material that is used to make such golf club cover 2 is a plush fabric made to resemble the fur of whatever animal the cover is made to look like. Such predetermined material is also made of a material that is waterproof so as to protect the club(s) that it is covering. Such cover 2 can be made to cover a single golf club, such as a driver, or made to cover the complete set of clubs in a golf bag as is seen in FIG. 1.

It is also preferred that such speaker 4 be disposed in a golf ball 12 that is disposed in the mouth of whatever animal the cover 2 represents.

While a presently preferred embodiment and alternate embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail above, it should be understood that various other adaptations and/or modifications of the invention can be made by those persons who are particularly skilled in the art without departing from either the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claims.

Claims

1. A golf club accessory for providing humor at an appropriate time, said golf club accessory comprising:

(a) a golf club cover for protecting golf clubs from weather, said golf club cover having a predetermined configuration and formed of a predetermined material;

(b) a speaker disposed within said golf bag cover for providing prerecorded preselected sayings;

(c) a remote control means for activating said speaker disposed in said golf club cover; and

(d) a voice chip electronically engageable with said speaker and with said remote control means for storing said prerecorded preselected sayings and for playing said prerecorded preselected sayings.

2. The golf club accessory, according to claim 1, wherein said remote control means is push button controlled.

3. The golf club accessory, according to claim 1, wherein said predetermined configuration of said golf club cover is selected from one of a house pet and a wild animal.

4. The golf club accessory, according to claim 3, wherein said house pet is one of a dog and a cat.

5. The golf club accessory, according to claim 1, wherein said predetermined material of said golf club cover is a plush fabric made to resemble fur.

6. The golf club accessory, according to claim 1, wherein said predetermined material is waterproof.

7. The golf club accessory, according to claim 1, wherein said golf club cover is designed to cover one of a single golf club and a set of golf clubs in a golf bag.

8. The golf club accessory, according to claim 3, wherein said speaker is disposed in said golf club cover in a golf ball that is held in a mouth of said one of said house pet and said wild animal.
