Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a flashlight and, more particularly, to a flashlight to provide an illuminating function.

2. Description of the Related Art

A conventional flashlight comprises a housing, a lamp mounted on a first end of the housing to emit light outwardly from the housing, at least one battery mounted in the housing and electrically connected to the lamp to provide an electric power to the lamp, a control switch mounted on the housing to control connection between the battery and the lamp, and an end cap mounted on a second end of the housing to stop the battery. The end cap is detachably mounted on the second end of the housing by a threading engagement. The housing and the end cap are made of plastic material to reduce the whole light of the flashlight. However, the housing and the end cap are made of plastic material so that the threadings of the housing and the end cap are easily worn out due to a frequent friction, thereby decreasing the lifetime of the flashlight. In addition, the housing has a smaller length to reduce the whole volume of the flashlight, so that a user cannot hold the housing smoothly. Further, when the flashlight is used in camping, searching, field training or surrounding exploring, the housing has a smaller length so that the user cannot hold the housing to push away an object (such as the branches) in front of the user. Thus, the user has to hold the housing by his one hand and hold a longer tool to push away an object in front of the user by his other hand, thereby causing inconvenience to the user.
