Roll up thong

A thong is comprised of a sole made up of two or three thin layers that are flexible and have the ability to be rolled up and stored in a pouch-like container that is dimensioned and configured to receive and maintain a pair of the thongs on the interior thereof, when in stored orientation to protect the wearer's feet and from hot concrete.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

This invention relates generally to footwear, and more particularly a thong.

2. Prior Art

The conventional thongs consist of an insole that is not flexible. As a result, the thong can not be easily carried or stored when outside specifically at amusement and water parks. Most water parks in this country do not allow you to wear footwear on the rides. However, the concrete can be extremely hot and uncomfortable for persons with sensitive feet. If you decide to wear a conventional thong in the water park, you must remove them before riding and you must hold them in your hands. This is dangerous and may cause injury.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary objective of the present invention is therefore to provide a flexible thong that can be rolled up and stored and be free from the drawbacks of the conventional thongs described above.

In keeping with the principle of the present invention, the foregoing objective of the present invention is attained by a thong consisting of a sole and a strap fastened to the upper surface of the sole. The sole is comprised of three 2 mm thick layers of soft flexible foam that are glued together with waterproof adhesive.

The flexibility of the foam allows the thong to be rolled up and placed in a container made of fishnet material to facilitate storage and carrying. This container is an appropriately dimensioned, configured and possibly decorative container will be sufficiently structured to hold a pair of the thongs. Moreover, the portability of the footwear assembly of the present invention is emphasized by its ability to be significantly reduced in size by the selective disposition thereof from a normal or operative orientation into a stored orientation. When in the stored orientation the size of the thong is greatly reduced. A pair of the thongs, such as when disposed within the container, can be placed around the neck or on the wrist of the wearer.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

As shown in the accompanying drawings FIG. 1-7, a thong 10 of the first preferred embodiment of the present invention is composed of a sole 16, a toe strap 12 connected to a strap 14 attached between the second and third layers of the sole 16 for securing a foot. The sole 16 is made of three layers of thin foam having an appropriate pliability. The toe strap 12 connected to a strap 14 is of a Y-shaped construction and is composed of three retaining positions 18 and 20, which are securely retained in one retaining hole 18 and two retaining slits of the sole 20. The strap 12 and 14 is attached to the first layer of the sole 16.

Claims

1. An article of footwear with sufficient flexibility to enable the footwear to be rolled up and placed in an appropriately sized container for temporary storage comprising:

2. a sole made up of three layers of flexible foam;
3. a strap engaged to an upper surface of said sole for securing a foot;
4. said strap is of an archlike construction;
5. said stored orientation comprising said entire footwear rolled up into substantially overlying relation.

6. An article of flexible footwear comprising:

7. a sole made up of three layers of flexible foam;
8. a strap engaged to an upper surface of said sole for securing a foot; said strap is of a Y-shaped construction.

9. A footwear assembly as recited in claim 1 further comprising a container disposed and structured to receive and maintain said sole and said upper in said stored orientation.

10. A footwear assembly as recited in claim 1 wherein said entire footwear is rolled up upon itself.

11. A footwear assembly as recited in claim 1 wherein said sole segment is formed of a cushioning material.

12. A footwear assembly as recited in claim 1 wherein said toe strap and strap are formed of a flexible braided material.

13. A container as recited in claim 3 wherein said container is formed of a cushioning material.

14. A footwear assembly as recited in claim 1 wherein said toe strap and strap are reinforced by machine stitching close to the hole and slits.
