OIL BURNER
An oil burner is disclosed to include a burner body holding a candle on its bottom side for burning, and an oil pan, which has a recessed top open chamber for holding an essential oil, a bottom partition wall supported on the burner body above the candle, an air chamber defined between the recessed top open chamber and the bottom partition wall, and a plurality of air holes cut through the bottom partition wall through which the flow of hot air produced during burning of the candle enters the air chamber to heat the recessed top open chamber evenly and to cause the essential oil to evaporate gradually.
(a) Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to oil burners and more particularly to a heating temperature controllable oil burner, which uses a heat source (candle) at the bottom side to heat an essential oil carried on the top, thereby working as a night lamp that emits a pleasant smell.
(b) Description of the Prior Art
Stress at work or the tension in life may cause occupational ill health. Therefore, modern people need to relax the body physically, minimizing the impact of stress and improving organizational performance. It is reported that special aromatic plant smells help release stress, alleviate tension, and make life pleasant. Many essential oils concentrated from various plants are commercially available. These essential oils may be burned in an oil burner (night lamp for essential oil) for aromatic treatment of the body and the mind.
Conventional oil burners (night lamps for essential oil) are commonly made out of ceramics in the shape of a container for carrying water and an essential oil. When in use, a candlestick or the like is set beneath the container to heat the container. According to this design, the container is directly heated by the heat source, and the essential oil that is carried in the container will soon be burned out. Further, the surface temperature of the product would soon become high due to direct heating. When a person touches the product or when the product falls down accidentally, a potential injury may happen.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. According to one aspect of the present invention, the heating temperature controllable oil burner comprises a burner body and an oil pan. The burner body holds a candle on the bottom side for burning. The oil pen is supported on the top side of the burner body above the candle, having a recessed top open chamber for holding an essential oil, a bottom partition wall, an air chamber defined between the recessed top open chamber and the bottom partition wall, and a plurality of air holes cut through the bottom partition wall through which the flow of hot air produced during burning of the candle enters the air chamber to heat the recessed top open chamber evenly and to cause the essential oil to evaporate gradually.
According to another aspect of the present invention, by means of controlling the number and opening status of the air holes on the bottom partition wall of the oil pan, the heating temperature that is applied to the essential oil can be controlled.
According to still another aspect of the present invention, the oil pan and the burner body can be respectively molded from a ceramic material and then burned together. Alternatively, the oil pan and the burner body can be separately made and detachably attached together.
Referring to
The burner body 1 may be made in the shape of any of a variety of hollow containers. According to this embodiment, the burner body 1 is a hollow cylindrical member having an access hole 11 on the vertically extending peripheral wall at a selected location, and a plurality of air vents 12 cut through the vertically extending peripheral wall to admit light and air.

Further, because the flow of hot air passes through the air holes 221 on the bottom partition wall 22 into the air chamber 23 to heat the recessed top open chamber 21, the rate of the flow of hot air entering the air chamber 23 is controllable through adjusting the number and opening status of the air holes 221.
A prototype of heating temperature controllable oil burner has been constructed with the features of
Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
