Detachable container for displays of goods

Abstract

A container for displays of goods includes a cardboard base including a first section having first slits and a second section having second slits wherein the first section is adapted to dispose in covering relationship to the second section with the first slits being aligned with the second slits; and a transparent cover including peripheral inserts adapted to insert through the first and the second slits for releasably fastening the cover, the first section, and the second section together. An article of goods is adapted to either place in a space defined by the cover and the first section or remove from the space by detaching the cover from the first section or opening the cover. A person is allowed to touch or try the article of goods by nondestructively removing the cover. Moreover, the removed article of goods can be stored in the container again.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The invention relates to devices for displays of goods and more particularly to a container having a transparent plastic cover detachably secured to a cardboard base such that an article of goods stored in the container can be removed by nondestructively detaching the cover from the base and thereafter placed into same again.

2. Description of Related Art

Containers for displays of goods are widely used. The container has a transparent cover so that people can clearly see the content of the container and thus the people may buy it if he or she is interesting with the product. Moreover, the goods is sufficiently protected by the container.

Typically, a manufacturing process of a container for displays of goods involves the steps of placing articles(s) of goods on a member (e.g., a sheet of cardboard), and then sealing a transparent plastic cover onto the member by heating along a periphery of the member. The container is recessed, dimensioned and shaped to fit snugly over the article(s) of goods.

Referring to FIG. 1, a conventional container for displays of goods is shown. The container comprises a transparent plastic cover A having a rectangular peripheral extension B fastened on a member (e.g., a sheet of cardboard) C by heating.

The well known container has a couple of drawbacks. For example, the container is damaged once the cover A is detached from the member C by tearing for taking the goods out of the container. As a result, the container is no longer useful. Moreover, people can only see the goods stored in the container rather than are allowed to touch or try the goods. Thus, the need for improvement still exists.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is therefore one object of the invention to provide a detachable container comprising a base including a first section having first slits and a second section having second slits wherein the first section is adapted to dispose in covering relationship to the second section with the first slits being aligned with the second slits; and a transparent cover including a plurality of peripheral inserts adapted to insert through the first and the second slits for releasably fastening the cover, the first section, and the second section together, wherein an article of goods is adapted to either place in a space defined by the cover and the first section or remove from the space by detaching the cover from the first section or opening the cover. By utilizing the invention, the cover can be nondestructively removed so that a person is allowed to touch or try the article of goods by removing. Moreover, the removed article of goods can be stored in the container again.

In one aspect of the invention each of the sections comprises a plurality of units.

In another aspect of the invention the cover comprises a plurality of units wherein at least one unit is adapted to releasably secure to the sections.

In yet another aspect of the invention the first and the second sections are fixedly secured together by applying adhesive therebetween.

In a further aspect of the invention the first and the second sections are detachably secured together by means of tabs and holes.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, a container for displays of goods in accordance with the invention is shown schematically. The container comprises a sheet of elongate cardboard bent along about a transverse center line to divide into a first section 10 having a plurality of (e.g., four) slits 11 along four sides of a virtual square, and a second section 20 having a plurality of rectangular zones (indicated by dash lines) 21 also along four sides of a virtual square. The container further comprises a transparent plastic cover 30 shaped as a hollow square member having four rectangular inserts 31 extended out of four sides. The first and second sections 10 and 20 are fastened together by, for example, gluing or snapping with the slits 11 and the zones 21 being aligned.

Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6 in conjunction with FIGS. 2 and 3, a person may place an article of goods 50 into the cover 30. Next, align the inserts 31 with the slits 11 prior to inserting through the slits 11 and the zones 21. Finally, bend the inserts 31 outward prior to securing to an underside of the second section 20 by applying adhesive thereto for fastening the first section 10, the second section 20, and the cover 30 together. As a result, a complete container is formed. Note that the inserts 31 may be secured to the underside of the second section 20 by means of clips, pins of the like without departing from the scope of the invention.

Referring to FIG. 4 in conjunction with FIGS. 5 and 6, the cover comprises a first member 41 and a second member 42. An intermediate bending line (as indicated by dash lines) 43 and two side lines 44 are formed along a joining line of the first member 41 and the second member 42. The first member 41 comprises two rectangular inserts 45 extended out of a lower edge. The inserts 45 are adapted to insert through the slits 11 and the zones (not shown) for fastening the first member 41, the first section 10, and the second section 20 together (see FIG. 4) as described above. To the contrary, a user may pull the inserts 45 out of the slits 11 and the zones to expose the article of goods 50 (see FIG. 5) prior to removing (see FIG. 6).

The container of the invention has the following advantages. The cover can be nondestructively removed so that a person is allowed to touch or try the article of goods by removing. Moreover, the removed article of goods can be stored in the container again after using. This can maintain a product in a good condition for using again in the future. The container can be reused rather than discarded. Hence, the container causes no damage to the environment.

Referring to FIG. 7, the cover comprises a first unit 61 and a second unit 62. The first unit 61 is detachable. The first unit 61 has two rectangular inserts 611 extended out of a lower edge. The inserts 611 are adapted to removeably insert through the slit and the zones 612 of the sections 10 and 20. Therefore, an article of goods 70 stored in the cover can be removed or placed into again after using. In short, the cover comprises a plurality of units in which at least one unit has two or more inserts adapted to removeably insert through the slit and the zones of the sections.

Referring to FIG. 8, the first section comprises three separate units 81, 82, and 83. The peripheral inserts 101 of the cover 100 are adapted to removeably, completely, or partially insert through the zones 821 of the second section 90 for fastening. Moreover, each of the first and second sections can be comprised of at least one component.

Referring to FIG. 9, a second preferred embodiment of the invention is shown. The characteristics of the second preferred embodiment are detailed below. The cover 131 can be removeably secured to the first section 110. The first section 110 has six holes 111 spaced along an edge. The second section 120 has six tabs 121 spaced along an edge. The tabs 121 are adapted to releasably insert into the holes 111 for fastening.

Referring to FIG. 10, a third preferred embodiment of the invention is shown. The characteristics of the third preferred embodiment are detailed below. The first section comprises three spaced components 141, 142 and 143 which are adapted to releasably secure to the second section 150 by attaching to quick fastening members (e.g., parallel lines) 151 on a front surface of the second section 150 by pressing. One component 161 of the cover can be releasably secured to the first section 140.

While the invention herein disclosed has been described by means of specific embodiments, numerous modifications and variations could be made thereto by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention set forth in the claims.

Claims

1. A container comprising:

a base including a first section having a plurality of first slits and a second section having a plurality of second slits wherein the first section is adapted to dispose in covering relationship to the second section with the first slits being aligned with the second slits; and

a transparent cover including a plurality of peripheral inserts adapted to insert through the first and the second slits for releasably fastening the cover, the first section, and the second section together,

wherein an article of goods is adapted to either place in a space defined by the cover and the first section or remove from the space by detaching the cover from the first section or opening the cover.

2. The container of claim 1, wherein the cover is bendable.

3. The container of claim 1, wherein the cover comprises a plurality of units.

4. The container of claim 1, wherein the first section comprises a plurality of units.

5. The container of claim 1, wherein the second section comprises a plurality of units.

6. The container of claim 1, wherein the first and the second sections are detachably secured together.

7. The container of claim 6, wherein the first section includes a plurality of holes and the second section includes a plurality of tabs adapted to releasably insert into the holes for fastening.

8. The container of claim 6, wherein the second section includes a plurality of holes and the first section includes a plurality of tabs adapted to releasably insert into the holes for fastening.
