Description
CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims foreign priority under 35 U.S.C. § 119 to Chinese Patent Application no. 200720146287.4, filed Jul. 25, 2007, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a container for packaging goods or displaying goods, and more specifically, relates to a packaging box or display box with a vibration and illumination function.

2. Background

When on display and/or offered for sale, goods are generally placed in display boxes. To achieve a better visual effect, illumination is often used with the display box. Existing display boxes or packaging boxes do not usually have illumination components, thus existing boxes rely on an external illumination system, thereby constraining the occasions under which they might be used. Some display boxes have their own illumination systems, but these illumination systems are static, such that the display of goods such as jewelry cannot be enhanced with dynamic effects

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The objective of embodiments of the present invention is to eliminate the abovementioned disadvantages of the conventional boxes by providing a packaging box or display box with a vibration function or with vibration and illumination functions.

The technical solution for an embodiment of the present invention is to provide a packaging box or display box with a vibration function or with vibration and illumination functions, comprising a box body, a rotatable box cover, and a fixed lining placed in said box body, wherein a display-object holder is placed in or near the center of the fixed lining, and a vibrator with an adjustable direction of vibration is placed on the holder. A switch is used to turn the vibrator on or off is placed at an interface of the box cover and the box body, and an illuminator can be placed in the box cover, said illuminator being driven by the same circuit as the vibrator. The packaging/display box may be various shapes and configurations and may be generally referred to as a packaging or display compartment.

Advantageously, the driver circuit used to drive the vibrator or the vibrator and the illuminator is placed in the box body, and a battery box used to contain a battery is arranged in the bottom of the box body, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

Advantageously, the switch is a magnetic switch, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

Advantageously, a vibration frequency adjuster is arranged inside the battery box, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

Advantageously, a cover lining is placed in the box cover, and the illuminator comprises a printed circuit board (PCB) assembly placed in the cover lining with one or more illuminating elements, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

Advantageously, the vibrator comprises a chassis arranged in the box body, wherein one side of the chassis is formed with a battery compartment which forms a battery box together with the bottom cover, and the other side of the chassis is arranged with a PCB vibration assembly comprising a magnetic coil, and the PCB vibration assembly vibrates the display object holder through a vibration platform with a securing mechanism, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

Implementation of the packaging box or display box in accordance with embodiments of the present invention has the following beneficial effects:

1. The packaging box or display box can have an integrated illumination system, facilitating the display and exhibition of jewelry.

2. The packaging box or display box has a vibrator, which vibrates the displayed objects such as jewelry at a suitable vibration frequency and vibration amplitude. This vibration enhances the display of the jewelry with added splendor, reflectance, shimmer, and sparkle in coordination with suitable illumination, but said vibration cannot otherwise be observed by the human eye.

3. The packaging box or display box uses a magnetic coil in the vibrator. Therefore the packaging box or display box has a simple structure and low cost.

These and other embodiments of the present invention are further made apparent, in the remainder of the present document, to those of ordinary skill in the art.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The accompanying drawings, which are incorporated herein and form a part of the specification, illustrate embodiments of the present invention. These drawings are not to be considered limitations in the scope of the invention, but are merely illustrative.

FIG. 1 is a exploded view of a jewelry packaging and display box according to an embodiment of the invention.

FIG. 2 is the circuit diagram of a jewelry packaging and display box according to an embodiment of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF SPECIFIC EMBODIMENTS

The description above and below and the drawings of the present document focus on one or more currently preferred embodiments of the present invention and also describe some exemplary optional features and/or alternative embodiments. The description and drawings are for the purpose of illustration and not limitation. Those of ordinary skill in the art would recognize variations, modifications, and alternatives. Such variations, modifications, and alternatives are also within the scope of the present invention. For example, the package/display box may be of various shapes or configurations and therefore is generally referred to as a compartment.

FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a jewelry packaging and display box according to an embodiment of the invention. As shown in FIG. 1, the jewelry display box includes a box body 12 portion and a box cover 1 portion which can be opened by rotation or swivel. The box body 12 portion includes a box body 12, a fixed lining 4 placed in the box body 12, an object holder 5 placed on the fixed lining 4, and a vibrator placed in the box body 12 under the fixed lining 4. The vibrator includes a chassis 10. A direct current (DC) jack 9, a PCB vibration assembly 8, a securing or locking mechanism 7 and a vibration platform 6 are placed on the upper side of the chassis 10. The securing or locking mechanism 7 is used to connect the vibration platform 6 and the object holder 5. In such a configuration, the PCB vibration assembly 8 can vibrate the object holder 5 by means of the vibration platform 6 with the securing or locking mechanism 7. In an embodiment, the PCB vibration assembly 8 includes a magnetic coil. A battery compartment 11 is formed on the other side of chassis 10 in coordination with a bottom cover 13 for housing one or more batteries 15.

The box cover 1 portion includes an openable box cover 1, and a cover lining 3. The box cover 1 can be hinged to the box body 12, or made to otherwise rotate or swivel. The cover lining 3 can be configured with a PCB assembly 2 and one or more light-emitting diodes 17 (LEDs). The LEDs 17 use the same driver circuit as the vibrator (which is placed in the box body 12). A switch 18 used to turn the vibrator or lights on/off is placed on the box cover 1 at an interface of the box cover 1 and the box body 12. A corresponding switch 14 is located on the box body 12 to meet with switch 18 at the interface of the box cover 1 and the box body 12. The illumination and vibration system is automatically in an off position once the cover 1 is closed and detected by switch 14. In one embodiment of the invention, the switch 18 is a magnetic switch. In a preferred embodiment, the chassis 10 further comprises a vibration frequency adjuster 16 thereon, in the form of a switch located on the circuit board of the PCB vibration assembly 8. The vibration frequency adjuster 16 controls and adjusts the frequency of vibration of the vibration platform 6.

FIG. 2 is a circuit diagram of a jewelry packaging and display box according to an embodiment of the invention. As shown in FIG. 2, a vibration signal is generated by a pre-programmed chip, and then amplified and fed to a magnetic coil, which induces the vibration platform 6 to vibrate. The vibration frequency, vibration amplitude, and vibration direction of such vibration can be controlled. For example, the vibration amplitude and vibration frequency may be appropriately adjusted to adjust the degree of the display enhancement of the jewelry such as the amount of splendor, reflectance, shimmer, and sparkle under the light of the illumination system, while maintaining the vibration of the jewelry to be otherwise unobservable to the human eye.

The embodiments of the present invention have been described above combined with the figures. However, it will be obvious to one of average skill in the art that the present invention may be applied to different situations, for example packaging, display and exhibition of jewelry, of watches, of gold pens, for showroom windows, etc. All changes that come within the meaning and range of equivalents within the claims are intended to be considered as being embraced within the spirit and scope of the claims.
