BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONU.S. Pat. No. 5,407,113 relates to a over the head hands free phone holder, comprising an elongated strap with first and second ends each having a first adhesive fastener connected thereto, and second adhesive fasteners connected to the first and second ends of a telephone, wherein the first adhesive fasteners respectfully mate with the second adhesive fasteners to secure the telephone about the head of the individual in a hands free relation.
U.S. Pat. No. 5,706,345 relates to a over the head hands free phone holder comprising an adjustable headband terminated on each end by pivotable rigid housing s whose inner surfaces are terminated by resilient ear cushions similar to an audio headset.
U.S. Pat. No. 6,374,090 relates to a cellular telephone handset holder, having a clamp gripping a portable telephone, wherein the clamp grips the sides of the portable telephone and a clipping means clipping the portable telephone onto an ear of a user and is attached to the clamp.
U.S. Pat. No. 6,639,985 relates to a phone with ear hanger assembly capable of being hung on a user's ear without out help from a hand for a certain period of time. The assembly comprises an elongated phone body having a top end, bottom end, a back side, a front side, a left side, and right side, the elongated phone body further comprising a top half and a bottom half, a receiver embedded in the elongated phone body, a transmitter embedded in the elongated phone body, a first and second opening on the front side, an ear hanger assembly having a hanger end and a rotating end, the hanger end being placed on the front side, a pre-bent spring connecting the rotating end to the elongated phone body and pressing the inner side of the hanger end through the rotating end in touch with the front side, and a pressure button on the phone body, when being manipulated, capable of providing a force against the prebent spring to enable the ear hanger assembly to rotate with respect to the front side.
U.S. Pat. No. 6,801,624 relates to a band unit for attaching hangers to portable appliances, having a rectangular or oblong three dimensional body in front elevation. The band unit comprises an elastic shoulder band, consisting of an intermediate part to be positioned on top of the body of the portable appliance and right and left side parts to be placed on the right and left side of the appliance body, nonskid surfaces provided on the inner surfaces caused to contact with the appliance body at least on right and left side parts of the shoulder band, plurality of notches provided on the inner surfaces caused to contact with at least a part of the outer surfaces of both right and left side parts of the shoulder band, at least one expansive elastic band caused to adhere elastically to notches on both right and left side parts of the shoulder band attached to the appliance body a hanger attached to the intermediate part of the shoulder band.
U.S. Pat. No. 6,957,978 relates to a cord retainer utilized in association with a portable electrical device, such as a cellular phone or portable disc player. The cord retainer includes a base which is connected with the electrical device and a flange which is connected with and extends from the base.
US patent pub. no. 2006/0227101 relates to a hand-held screen-interface device. The device has a base having an arm brace coupled to and extending from the base. A first finger receptacle is coupled to the arm brace and positioned away from the base. A first selector switch is coupled to the first finger receptacle. A pointer device is coupled to the first finger receptacle and is configured to interface with a screen of an electronic device in communication with the hand held screen interface device.
U.S. Pat. No. 6,550,108 relates to an attachment loop which is affixed to a hand held device. The attachment loop includes a self adhesive panel having a ring portion pivotally attached thereto. A segment of the ring portion is captured within a channel of the base panel.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to a device which is attached to an electronic accessory which allows a user to securely hold the device while they are using the device.
It is an object of the present invention for the device to allow a user to hold a hand held device while preventing it from dropping or slipping from a person's hand.
It is an object of the present invention for the device to consist of a single piece wherein said piece is integrally attached to the electronic device and wherein the device has an opening for a user to place their finger.
It is an object of the present invention for the device to comprise a base which has a ring attached to it. It is an object of the present invention for the ring to be removable from the base. It is an object of the present invention for the base to be comprised of metal. It is an object of the present invention for the base to comprise stainless steel, bronze or brushed.
It is an object of the present invention for the base to comprise plastic.
It an object of the present invention for the base to be made of the same material as the electronic device.
It is an object of the present invention for the ring to be made of different sizes. It is an object of the present invention for the ring to be made of an elastic material so that it can fit different size fingers. It is an object of the present invention for the ring to be able to rotate up and down. It is an object of the present invention for the ring to be able to rotate a full 360°. It is an object of the present invention for the electronic device to comprise a cellular phone, PDA or other hand held device. It is an object of the present invention for a user to be able to insert a finger into the ring. It is an object of the present invention for the ring to be made of a rubber or rubber like material. It is an object of the present invention for the electronic device to comprise an IPOD, Blackberry, calculator, cameras, handheld video games. It is an object of the present invention for the ring to be made of different colors and patterns.
It is an object of the present invention for the base to be permanently attached to the electronic device.
It is an object of the present invention for the base to be removable from the electronic device.
It is an object of the present invention for the base to be attached to the electronic device with a Velcro or an adhesive.
It is an object of the present invention for the ring to allow the electronic device to be hung or a door or a wall.
Claims
1. A device for holding electronic devices comprising:
- a base for attaching to said electronic device;
- a clamping mechanism for holding an attachment;
- said attachment comprising an opening for a user to insert at least one finger.
2. The device of claim 1 wherein said device allows a user to securely hold the electronic devices while they are using the electronic devices.
3. The device of claim 1 wherein said device consists of a single piece.
4. The device of claim 1 wherein said device is integrally attached to the electronic device.
5. The device of claim 1 wherein said attachment comprises a ring.
6. The device of claim 5 wherein said ring is removable from said base.
7. The device of claim 1 wherein said base comprises metal.
8. The device of claim 1 wherein said base comprises stainless steel, bronze or brushed.
9. The device of claim 5 wherein said ring is made of different sizes.
10. The device of claim 5 wherein said ring comprises an elastic material.
11. The device of claim 5 wherein said ring rotates up and down.
12. The device of claim 5 wherein said ring rotates 360°.
13. The device of claim 5 wherein said electronic device comprises a cellular phone, PDA, pager, IPOD, Blackberry, calculator, cameras, video games, or other hand held devices.
14. The device of claim 5 wherein said ring comprises a rubber or rubber like material.
15. The device of claim 5 wherein said ring is made of different colors and patterns.
16. The device of claim 1 wherein said base is attached to the electronic device with an adhesive or other element to permanently attach the base to said device.
17. The device of claim 1 wherein said base is attached to said electronic device with Velcro or an adhesive which is not permanent so it can be removed from the device or moved to a different position on the device.
18. The device of claim 1 wherein said clamping mechanism allows a user to remove said attachment and replace it with a further attachment.
19. The device of claim 1 wherein said base comprises plastic.
