  • Patent number: 10628637
Abstract: An enclosure for an electronic device that includes a connection port aperture located in at least one edge, a rear face, and/or a front face of the enclosure. As will be described herein the connection port aperture may be sized to prevent interference with electronic device accessories, and more particularly card readers, which are operatively coupled to the electronic device through a connection port in the electronic device. As such, the connector port aperture allows for the secure connection between the accessory and the electronic device without the enclosure interfering with the accessory, which reduces the strain and vibration associated with use of the accessory, and in particular, with the use of cards with card reader type accessories.

  • Patent number: 9364959
Abstract: A solar knife that is used as a cutting or chopping tool that includes handle scales that have reflective shallow parabolic outside surfaces that can be used to ignite combustible materials using solar energy. The solar knife has a tinder holder blue print machined into its surface and also has an angled tinder holder mounting hole. Using the tinder holder blue print on the invention and the cutting edge of the solar knife, the user can fashion a precision tinder holder in the field using a tree branch or twig. The fashioned tinder holder is then inserted into the tinder holder mounting hole which allows the tinder to be held firmly at the exact focus of the parabolic outside surface of the handle scales where it is ignited using only energy supplied by the sun. The solar knife also includes sacrificial anodes to minimize metal oxidation.

  • Patent number: 8272158
Abstract: A device that assists in the holding and releasing of a cast net when thrown for fishing is herein disclosed. The device replaces the traditional practice of holding the edge of a casting net in a fisherman's mouth while throwing. The device is made of a section of synthetic cord wherein each end of the cord is attached to the outward leg of a clip mechanism, thus forming a loop configuration. The loop is then placed around the fisherman's neck with the clip mechanism hanging in a downward configuration. The cast net is then prepared to throw but instead of placing the edge of the net in the mouth, it is secured within the jaws of the clip. The net is then cast and as the net travels away from the fisherman, it pulls away from the clip resulting in a perfect cast.
