Oven with door equipped with push-pull device

- FILIPPI S.R.L.

The invention is a new kitchen oven with door (P) equipped with a push closing and release device (B1, B2), in such a way as to allow the user to open and close said door by simply pushing it. The closing and release device is provided with a coupling element (B1) and a coupling and uncoupling mechanism (B2) suited to house and hold said coupling element when the door is first pressed or pushed and to free and expel said coupling element when it is pressed again, thus opening the door itself.

Description

The present invention concerns the sector of kitchen appliances and in particular it concerns kitchen ovens.

Kitchen ovens are known, even in built-in versions, that are equipped with a door with horizontal or vertical rotation opening.

Oven doors are usually equipped with a handle to allow the door to be opened and closed with no need for the hand to come into contact with the hot wall or glass panel of the oven door.

At least one spring mechanism keeps the oven door closed, so that the gasket of the door adheres thoroughly to the edge of the oven, thus preventing the heat from expanding out of the oven.

Ovens are known that adopt the so-called cold doors, that is, doors consisting of several coupled glass panes adhering to each other with or without air spaces, so that the external surface of the door has a temperature that is much lower than the inner temperature, usually almost corresponding to the temperature of the room where the oven is installed.

Doors with air space are also known, where an air flow is present between the glass panes, in such a way as to reduce heat transmission between the inner and outer surface of the door.

All these kinds of door are equipped with various types of handles, having different sizes and arranged in different positions.

Ovens with sliding door are also known, that have the same problems described above.

The oven door handle has production and storage costs and requires labour for application and installation on the ovens during production, with consequent increases in assembly costs.

The oven door handle is often a protruding element that may hinder the passage of people or objects, like for example food trolleys, may cause clothes to become entangled with it and damage them, besides increasing overall dimensions for the purpose of storage.

In order to overcome all the drawbacks mentioned above, a new domestic oven has been designed and implemented that has a door equipped with push closing and release device.

The aim of the invention is to propose a new kitchen oven that has no parts protruding from the door.

Another aim of the new oven is to eliminate costs deriving from the production and assembly of the handle.

A further aim of the new oven is to allow the user to open the door even with busy hands.

These and other direct and complementary aims have been achieved through the implementation of the new kitchen oven with door equipped with push closing and release device.

Devices are known, which are also called push-pull or push-push devices, that include a coupling element, in the shape of an arrow or of a pin with enlarged head, fixed to and protruding from the inner surface of the door wing to be kept closed, and a push coupling mechanism to be fixed, for example, to the body of the piece of furniture or object closed by said wing. When the wing is open, a simple pressure exerted on the wing causes said coupling element to fit in the constraint element of the coupling mechanism, while successively pressing and releasing the wing itself opens the coupling mechanism, releases the coupling element of the wing and pushes the wing open.

The new oven door, besides being without the external handle, has an edge of its surface facing the oven equipped with a coupling element with arrow-shaped, hook-shaped or enlarged head or end. On the oven edge, at the level of said coupling element of the door, there is a corresponding coupling and uncoupling mechanism. According to the invention, the coupling element may be mounted on the oven edge and the coupling and uncoupling mechanism may be mounted on the oven door. Every single door may be equipped with two or more coupling elements and corresponding coupling and uncoupling mechanisms.

Said coupling mechanisms and said coupling and uncoupling mechanisms may be preferably positioned on the side opposite the hinged side of the door and of the oven.

According to the invention, said coupling elements and the corresponding coupling and uncoupling mechanisms are positioned inside the oven wall, at the level of or connected to the door hinge, the sliding guides or the door opening lever mechanisms, and thus they are not visible.

Kitchen oven with door having at least one push closing and release device mounted on the door and on the oven body, in such a way as to allow the user to open and close said door by pushing the same towards the oven.

The characteristics of the new kitchen oven with door equipped with push closing and release device will be highlighted in greater detail in the following description with reference to the attached drawing, enclosed as a non-limiting example.

The following drawings show, as an indicative but non-limiting example, a practical embodiment of the invention.

Each one of FIGS. 1a and 1b show a perspective view of the new oven (F) with the door (P) partially open, respectively with door (P) hinged on the lower side and door (P) hinged laterally.

The new oven (F) is equipped with a door (P) with push closing and release device (B1, B2). This example shows two push closing and release devices (B1, B2).

On one side of the door (P) there are two coupling elements (B1) with arrow-shaped head or end. Said coupling elements (B1) are arranged in a position that is generically orthogonal to the inner surface of the door (P). On the edge of the oven (F) where the door (P) rests, in positions corresponding to said coupling elements (B1) of the door (P), there are the corresponding coupling and uncoupling mechanisms (B2).

FIGS. 2a and 2b show a cross section of the door (P) in two different positions: nearly closed and completely closed.

The mechanism shown in said FIGS. 2a and 2b is a purely indicative illustration of the type of mechanism employed.

FIG. 3 shows a further embodiment of the invention, in which the closing and release device is positioned in the side wall of the oven and is connected to and/or included in the lever mechanism that opens the door (P).

Therefore, with reference to the above description, the following claims are expressed.
