Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the invention

The present invention relates to a security structure of a baby mesh bed to prevent accidental folding, more particularly one, which can make the user know if the baby bed hasn't been completely fixed in the expanded configuration, and which has a relatively low manufacturing cost, and is easy to assemble.

2. Brief Description of the Prior Art

Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, a currently existing baby mesh bed includes a joint mechanism 4, and two connecting rods 41, which are held in and pivoted to the joint mechanism 4 at inward ends thereof. The joint mechanism 4 has gaps 42 at two ends of an upper portion thereof, thus, the connecting rods 41 will be passed into the gaps 42, and propped against the upper portion of the joint mechanism 4 after the connecting rods 41 are pivoted upwards to change the baby bed into the folded configuration. The joint mechanism 4 further has a pressing component 43 fitted to its lower portion to unlock the connecting rods 41. And, an elastic protecting band 44 is positioned between and joined to the connecting rods 41 at two ends thereof by means of fixing elements 41 such as rivets; the protecting band 44 will make the connecting rods 41 pivot upwards and closer to each other if the connecting rods 41 aren't completely fixed in position after the baby bed has been expanded; therefore, the users can easily know if the baby bed hasn't been fixed in the expanded configuration.

However, the above baby mesh bed has the following drawbacks:

The elastic protecting band is secured to the connecting rods by means of rivets therefore it takes relatively much time and labor to install the protecting band.

The fixing elements (rivets) stick out from the connecting rods to spoil the appearance of the baby mesh bed, and can hurt the baby.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is a main object of the present invention to provide an improvement on a security structure of a baby mesh bed to overcome the above problems.

A security structure of a baby bed according to an embodiment of the present invention is connected at two ends thereof to two connecting rods of the baby bed, which are pivoted on a joint mechanism of the baby bed; the connecting rods each have a fixing hole; the security structure includes elastic protecting band, and two semicircular fastening rings securely joined to two ends of the elastic protecting band; the fastening rings each have two detainment portions, and are securely joined to the connecting rods respectively with the detainment portions thereof being fixed in the fixing holes of the connecting rods. Therefore, the security structure can be easily installed by the user/manufacturer. And, the fastening rings can rest on the connecting rods with no space in between. Consequently, the fastening rings won't spoil the appearance of the baby bed or hurt the baby.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIG. 1 to FIG. 4, a preferred embodiment of a security structure of a baby mesh bed is positioned between and joined to two connecting rods 2 of the baby bed; the baby bed further includes a joint mechanism 1, and the connecting rods 2 are pivoted to the joint mechanism 1 at inward ends thereof.

The joint mechanism 1 has lateral plate parts 11, which protrude from front and rear sides of an upper portion of the joint mechanism 1, so that the joint mechanism 1 has a substantially inverted-U shaped cross-section, and has a holding space between the lateral plate parts 11. The joint mechanism 1 includes two pivotal elements 12, which are passed through the inward ends of the connecting rods 2 respectively, and joined to upper portions of two ends of the lateral plate parts 11; thus, the connecting rods 2 are pivoted on the pivotal elements 12. The upper portion of the joint mechanism 1 has a gap 13 on each of two ends thereof so that the connecting rods 2 will be received in the gaps 13 respectively, and propped against the upper portion of the joint mechanism 1 after the connecting rods 2 are pivoted relative to the joint mechanism 1 to change the baby bed into a folded configuration.

The joint mechanism 1 is equipped with two fixing bars 16, which are hidden between and pivoted to the lateral plate parts 11 to come into contact with the inward ends of the connecting rods 2 at their first ends respectively so as to fix the connecting rods 2 and prevent the baby bed from changing into the folded configuration accidentally; the lateral plate parts 11 of the joint mechanism 1 has opposing curved guide slots 14 while a pivotal rod 15 is passed through lower ends of both the fixing bars 16, and passed through the curved guide slots 14 at two ends thereof; thus, the pivotal rod 15 can move along the curved guide slots 14, and the fixing bars 16 together form a V-shape, and can pivot on the pivotal rod 15. Furthermore, an elastic element, 161 is positioned between and joined to the fixing bars 16 to exert a force on the fixing bars 16.

The joint mechanism 1 is further equipped with a pressing component 17 in a bottom portion of the holding space between the lateral plate parts 11 thereof, which is free to move up and down, and is biased downwards by means of an elastic element 171. The pressing component 17 usually contacts the other (second) ends of the fixing bars 16. The pressing component 17 will make the fixing bars 16 pivot on the pivotal rod 15 in such a direction that the first ends of the fixing bars 16 become closer to each other when a person pushes the pressing component 17 upwards; thus, the fixing bars 16 no longer contact the connecting rods 2, and the connecting rods 2 can be pivoted so as to fold the baby bed. Furthermore, the pressing component 17 can be turned so as to move the pivotal rod 15 and the fixing bars 16 relative to the curved guide slots 14 of the lateral plate parts 11.

The security structure of the baby mesh bed of the present invention comprises an elastic protecting band 3, and two fastening rings 31, which are securely joined to two ends of the elastic protecting band 3 respectively, and have a substantially semicircular shape. The connecting rods 2 each have two fixing holes 21, and the fastening rings 31 each have two detainment portions, 311, and are securely joined to the connecting rods 2 respectively with the detainment portions 311 thereof being fixed in the fixing holes 21. Consequently, the elastic protecting band 3 is joined to both the connecting rods 2 at two ends, and will exert such a force on the connecting rods 2 as to make the connecting rods 2 pivot closer to each other if the fixing bars 16 fail to fix the connecting rods 2 in position properly. Therefore, the parents can easily know if the baby mesh bed hasn't been fixed in the expanded position properly; there is no risk of the baby bed folding accidentally to injure the baby in the bed. In addition, the protecting band 3 will cover the gaps 13 of the joint mechanism 1 when the baby bed is in the expanded configuration.

From the above description, it can be seen that the present invention has the following advantages over the prior art:

1. The protecting band will make the connecting rods pivot upwards and closer to each other if the fixing bars fail to fix the connecting rods properly. Therefore, users can easily know if the baby mesh bed hasn't been fixed in the expanded position properly; there is no risk of the baby bed folding accidentally to injure the baby.

2. The fastening rings of the protecting band are securely joined to the connecting rods with the detainment portions thereof being fixed in the fixing holes of the connecting rods. Therefore, the safety mechanism of the present invention has a relatively low manufacturing cost, and is easy to assemble.

3. The fastening rings are semicircular, and therefore can rest on the connecting rods with no space in between. Consequently, the fastening rings won't spoil the appearance of the baby bed or hurt the baby.
