Method of hair extension

A method of hair extension includes acts of preparing extension hair, grouping original hair and the extension hair into corresponding groups, adhering with an adhesive, wrapping with a hot-melt adhesive sleeve and shaping the original hair and the extension hair. Because the original hair and the extension hair are bonded together by groups, the bonding is fast and easy. Additionally, the double bonding is very secure and the extension hair cannot break away easily from the original hair.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a hair extension technique, and more particularly to a method of hair extension that is quick, secure and non-visible.

2. Description of the Related Art

Hair length affects hairstyle, but once cut, hair takes a long time to grow back. Therefore, if the hair is cut short for fashion one season, it may need to be full length months later. Furthermore, some hair grows too slowly to achieve long styles, or may be required of a greater length for a variety of reasons including actors playing different roles or different scenes, models, fashion elites, older women, those recovering from surgery or chemotherapy or even for special occasions like attending weddings. Therefore, many conventional hair extension methods are developed. One conventional hair extension method is to adhere one strand of original hair to one strand of extension hair. However, extension hair may break off from original hair easily. Additionally, gluing strands of hair one by one is rather laborious and time-consuming. Therefore, the conventional hair extension method is expensive.

To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a method of hair extension to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a method of hair extension that is rapid, secure and is non-visible.

A method of hair extension in accordance with the present invention comprises acts of preparing extension hair, grouping, adhering, wrapping and shaping.

In the act of preparing extension hair, extension hair is prepared and matched to required hair length.

In the act of grouping, original hair is separated into an upper region near a top of a head and a lower region adjacent to a neck. The lower region is grouped evenly into multiple original hair groups, each having an end and multiple strands. The extension hair is grouped into multiple extension hair groups corresponding in number to the original groups and each extension hair group has an end and multiple strands substantially corresponding in number to the strands of the original hair groups. In the act of adhering, a hot-melt adhesive sleeve is disposed on each extension hair group. The end of each extension hair group and the end of a corresponding original hair group are disposed adjacent to and overlapping each other to form an overlapping section. Adhesive is added to the overlapping section and hot-pressed.

In the act of wrapping, the hot-melt adhesive sleeve is moved to cover the overlapping section, is hot-pressed and bonded around the overlapping section to further bond the extension hair group and the original hair group together.

In the act of shaping, the upper region of the original hair is put down to cover the overlapping sections. The original hair and the extension hair are permed, dyed and trimmed depending on hairstyle.

Because the original hair and the extension hair are bonded together by groups, the bonding is fast and easy. Additionally, the double bonding is very secure and the extension hair cannot break away easily.

Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

As defined herein, original hair is hair growing from and covering a scalp of a person from a head to a neck.

With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, a method of adding hair extension in accordance with the present invention comprises acts of: evaluating, preparing extension hair, pre-treating, grouping, adhering, wrapping and shaping.

The act of evaluating comprises evaluating original hair (10), and may comprise testing and visual observing the original hair (10) to evaluate nature, thickness and color of the original hair (10).

The act of preparing extension hair comprises preparing extension hair, the extension hair may be human hair or synthetic hair. The extension hair is prepared depending on hairstyle and length and may match the original hair (10).

The act of pre-treating comprises pre-treating the extension hair and may include hair care, such as washing or conditioning, dyeing or other such requirements dependent on hairstyle and hair color.

With further reference to FIG. 4, the act of grouping comprises grouping the original hair (10) and the extension hair. The original hair (10) is separated into an upper region (11) near a top of a head and a lower region (13) near a neck. The upper region (11) may be clipped up. The lower region (13) is combed, trimmed and grouped evenly into multiple original hair groups (15), each original hair group (15) having an end and multiple strands disposed at the end of each original hair group (15). Preferably the lower region is separated into between 80 to 120 original hair groups (15). Preferably each original hair group (25) comprises between 200 to 300 strands. The extension hair is grouped into multiple extension hair groups (20) corresponding in number to the original hair groups (15). Each extension hair group (20) has an end and multiple strands substantially corresponding number to the strands of a corresponding original hair group (15). If the numbers of the strands of each extension hair group (20) and original hair group (15) differ greatly, a bond between each extension hair group (20) and a corresponding original hair group (15) may break easily and appear unnatural.

With further reference to FIGS. 3 and 5, the act of adhering comprises preparing a hot-melt adhesive sleeve (35) on each extension hair group (20), the sleeve (35) may be transparent. The ends of the corresponding hair groups (15, 20) are disposed adjacent to and overlapping to form an overlapping section. An adhesive (30) that can cure within 10 seconds is applied to the overlapping section to bond the extension hair group (20) and the original hair group (15) together. After the adhesive (30) has cured, the overlapping section is hot-pressed, may be using flat irons (37), at a temperature of around 180° C.

The act of wrapping comprises sliding the hot-melt adhesive sleeve (35) over the overlapping section. The hot-melt adhesive sleeve (35) is hot-pressed, may be using flat irons (37), at a temperature of 250° C., melts around the overlapping section and further bonds the extension hair group (20) and the original hair group (15) together. Therefore, the bonding between the extension hair group (20) and the original hair group (15) is very secure. Acts of adhering and wrapping are applied to all hair groups (15,20).

In the act of shaping, the upper region (11) of the original hair (10) is put down to cover the overlapping sections so the hair extensions are not visible and further styled. With further reference to FIG. 6, the original hair (10) and the extension hair may be further styled by being permed, dyed or trimmed to create a hairstyle with an illusion of naturally long hair.

Because the original hair (10) and the extension hair are bonded together by groups, the bonding is quickly completed and is fast and easy. Additionally, the double bonding is very secure and the extension hair does not easily break away from the original hair (10). If the person wants to change hairstyle, the extension hair can be cut off and new extension hair can be bonded to the original hair (10) again.

Claims

1. A method of hair extension comprising acts of:

preparing extension hair depending on hairstyle and length of an original hair;
grouping, comprising acts of separating the original hair into an upper region near a top a head; and a lower region near a neck; grouping the lower region into multiple original hair groups each having an end and multiple strands; and grouping the extension hair into multiple extension hair groups corresponding in number to the original hair groups; and each extension hair group having an end and multiple strands corresponding substantially in number to the strands of a corresponding original hair group;
adhering comprising acts of preparing a hot-melt adhesive sleeve on each extension hair group; the end of each extension hair group and the end of a corresponding original hair group being disposed adjacent to and overlapping each other to form an overlapping section; and the overlapping section being mixed with an adhesive and being hot-pressed;
wrapping comprising acts of sliding the hot-melt adhesive sleeve over the overlapping section; the hot-melt adhesive sleeve being hot-pressed and melting around the overlapping section to further bond the extension hair group and the original hair group together; and
shaping, the upper region of the original hair being put down to cover the overlapping sections and the original hair being further styled.

2. The method of hair extension as claimed in claim 1, wherein in the act of adhering each overlapping section is hot-pressed by flat irons at a temperature of 180° C.

3. The method of hair extension as claimed in claim 2, wherein in the act of wrapping the hot-melt adhesive sleeve is hot-pressed by flat irons at a temperature of 250° C.

4. The method of hair extension as claimed in claim 3, wherein each original hair group has 200-300 strands.

5. The method of hair extension as claimed in claim 4, wherein the lower region is grouped into 80-120 original hair groups.

6. The method of hair extension as claimed in claim 1, wherein in the act of wrapping the hot-melt adhesive sleeve is hot-pressed by flat irons at a temperature of 250° C.

7. The method of hair extension as claimed in claim 1, wherein each original hair group has 200-300 strands.

8. The method of hair extension as claimed in claim 1, wherein the lower region is grouped into 80-120 original hair groups.
