Portable container

A portable container includes a triangular prism shaped transparent case comprising an open bottom and three structural elements each extending downward from one of three angles of its top to an intermediate position of one of three longitudinal edges of the case; a handle secured to the top of the case; a triangular bottom member fitted onto the bottom of the case; and a shelf comprising an inclined top for dividing an internal space of the case into an upper space and a lower space, a side surface, and a continuous projecting edge extending downward from two edges of its top and extending toward one of the three longitudinal edges of the case. The shelf is secured between bottom ends of the structural elements and the bottom member.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The invention relates to containers and more particularly to a portable container with object exhibit and other beneficial characteristics.

2. Description of Related Art

One conventional type of portable container is adapted to contain one or more objects by enclosing. Further, a picture, illustration, or description is adhered to the surface of the container for attracting public attention. However, in often times it is not enough to truly show the object(s) simply by the picture, illustration, or description.

Another conventional type of portable container has each of one or more surfaces being provided with a transparent plastic film. However, its structural strength is weak. That is, it is not resistant to collision.

Thus, the need for improvement still exists.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is therefore one object of the invention to provide a portable, structurally strong container capable of exhibiting one or more objects stored therein.

The above and other objects, features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of portable container according to the invention;

FIG. 2 is a view similar to FIG. 1 with the strap handle being removed;

FIG. 3 is an exploded view of the container of FIG. 2;

FIG. 4 is an enlarged view of the case of FIG. 3;

FIG. 5 is an enlarged view of the shelf of FIG. 3;

FIG. 6 is a view similar to FIG. 1 with the strap handle being shown in a circle;

FIG. 7 is a view similar to FIG. 1 with an object (e.g., mouse) being contained therein; and

FIG. 8 is a view similar to FIG. 7 with a product description being adhered to a lower portion of one of three side surfaces of the container.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 8, a portable container 5 in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention is shaped as a triangular prism and comprises a case 1, a shelf 2, a bottom member 3, and a strap handle 4. Each component is discussed in detail below.

The case 1 is shaped as a triangular prism, is made of acrylic resin, and comprises a triangular top 14, two spaced holes 11 on the top 14, a triangular open bottom 12, and three structural elements 13 each mounted on an upper portion of one of three longitudinal edges of the case 1 wherein the edge is formed between two adjacent side surfaces of the case 1. It is noted that two of the three structural elements 13 are of the same length and the remaining one of the three structural elements 13 is shorter than the other two structural elements 13. Also, the top 14 and three side surfaces of the case 1 are transparent.

The shelf 2 is also made of acrylic resin and comprises a triangular inclined top 22, a slit 23 on the top 22, a side surface 21, and a continuous projecting edge 24 extending downward from two edges of the top 22 and extending laterally toward one of the three longitudinal edges of the case 1. The edge 24 can increase the structural strength of the shelf 2. The shelf 2 is mounted under the bottom ends of the structural elements 13 with the three angles of the top 22 being urged against the bottom ends of the shelf 2.

The triangular bottom member 3 comprises a continuous upward projecting edge (not numbered) for giving it strength. The bottom member 3 is fitted onto the bottom of the case 1 to enclose the open bottom 12 and the bottom edge of the shelf 2 is supported by the bottom of the bottom member 3. The shelf 2 is thus secured between the structural elements 13 and the bottom member 3. Also, an upper space 51 and a lower space 52 are formed. The upper space 51 communicates with the lower space 52 through the slit 23. The strap handle 4 has two enlarged ends 41 adapted to secure to the holes 11.

An object (e.g., mouse) 5 is stored in both spaces 51, 52 by passing through the slit 23 (see FIG. 7). Moreover, a product description 7 is further adhered to a lower portion of one of three side surfaces of the container 5 (see FIG. 8).

The invention has the following advantages. A user may carry the container 5 by holding the strap handle 4. That is, an additional plastic bag for containing and carrying the container 3 is eliminated. People can clearly see the content of the object 6 in the container 5 through the transparent side surfaces of the container 5. Thus, the invention can attract public attention. The container 5 is structurally strong enough to resist collision.

While the invention herein disclosed has been described by means of specific embodiments, numerous modifications and variations could be made thereto by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention set forth in the claims.

Claims

1. A portable container comprising:

a transparent case shaped as a triangular prism and comprising a triangular top, a triangular open bottom, and three structural elements each extending downward from one of three angles of the top to an intermediate position of one of three longitudinal edges of the case wherein two of the three structural elements are of the same length and the remaining one of the three structural elements is shorter than the other two structural elements;
